Tropicana AC is perhaps one of the most difficult places I personally find to record in. Always run into security. Most hotels and casinos have become welcoming and realize the value of vloggers. Perhaps someday the Trop will come to realize like the others. Have an awesome weekend Jennifer!

For example, I notice the Hash a go-go, which just because of the name I want to see, which I had not known about before Jeff's video.
I will be staying at the Tropicana in August for 3 days, leaving on the day the big country music festival will be kicking off. Can't wait to hit the beach, boardwalk, and do a little slot machine gambling.

I decided to change my Claridge reservation to either Trop or Caesars, as I didn't realize Caesars had a rooftop pool. Also didn't know that the Chelsa tower & Annex was connected to Trop and to boot also just realized that Trop is part of Caesars rewards. Where have I been, lol?
Trop and Harrahs uses Caesars rewards. FYI, I believe Caesars charges $20 to use the pool, even if your a guest! That's on top of the resort fee. You can double check that if you want. Thanks Cranium Lost! Have a wonderful weekend!
I was there two weeks ago and visited the Imax theater and it was so beautiful. We ate at the the Cuban restaurant and the food was magnificent. I haven't stayed there yet only stay at Ocean's, but I may try it one day. When I go back July 4th weekend I'll visit a few other restaurants at Tropicana for sure

Jeff, I believe Carl Icahn bought the mortgage to the Chelsea Hotel and folded it into the Tropicana. He built the walkway and eventually sold all of Tropicana to Eldorado.
I think you're right; you stayed on top of it. A lot of playa moves in AC; it's hard to keep track of the constant changes on who owns what. I think Carl Icahn had a lot to do with putting a hold on other casino properties so they wouldn't be able to have a casino license. I feel bad for the owner of the Showboat who is doing so much to change the landscape of Atlantic City; I hope he figures out a way to get a few tables and slots in there. His brain's always going.
@@richardhales92 Carl Icahn bought the Taj Mahal out of bankruptcy and tried to get the Union to take a haircut and when that was rejected, he closed the Taj. He ultimately sold it to Hard Rock. He also picked up Trump Plaza and shut it down in 2014. Fun fact: the land under the Plaza was owned by another company and Trump paid rent. Eventually, Icahn bought the land from the owner and demolished Trump Plaza. The other fun fact is the adjacent tower where the Rainforest Cafe is located was a former Holiday Inn. That building is still standing. As for Icahn preventing others from opening casinos, that was actually Caesars Entertainment. When Caesars closed Showboat and eventually sold it, they put in a deed restriction that prevented a casino to open. I believe that deed restriction ends in a few years. The current owner of Showboat is Bart Blatstein and he owns a vacant lot next to Showboat. At one time he discussed building a casino on that lot and connecting it to Showboat which would not violate the deed restriction. He is building the Water park on that lot. I don’t think there will be another casino developed in AC, there is too much competition from other states. This is why AC needs to diversify the local economy with rezoning some the vacant land to allow for residential development. When Atlantic Club closed, it was bought by both Caesars and Tropicana. I believe Caesars got the real estate and Tropicana got the players club list and slot machines. Caesars sold Atlantic Club and also put in a deed restriction to prevent another casino from opening. There was a recent story about the current owner of the Atlantic Club wanting to convert the property into a luxury condo hotel. Some good news. An acquaintance of mine informed me about a private bus that goes down to Atlantic City and I can get it a few blocks from where I reside. I think it goes to the Trop. So, in a few weeks I may take it and come down to Atlantic City.

Also known as 'The 5', this club was named after the baseball term the 500 Home Run Club. The club was owned by racketeer Paul "Skinny" D'Amato and it burned down in 1973. It was the east coast home to The Rat Pack and was indeed visited by many mobsters and politicians who by the way, never paid for their drinks! While Atlantic City is known for it's mob activity in the past, it is not celebrated as much as in Las Vegas.

I notice the Trop has put more slots downstairs in the Marketplace than when I visited a few years ago. It was always hard to find an attendant downstairs when the slots malfunctioned.

Caesars is a stickler for giving up a room before 3pm. If you check in on your phone the morning of your arrival, they will ask when you think you'll arrive. I always put 12 or 1 pm. Sometimes they will notify you early to let you know a room is available at that time. If not, you'll have to pay or wait. Thanks Joan and have a great time!

The Havana Tower is quite a walk to the casino and boardwalk but located in the Quarter with many restaurants and shops. The North Tower has some 'casino view' rooms on the lower floors which actually overlook the casino and have no natural light. I've stayed in one a few years ago and found it very depressing. If you go with the North Tower, I would request a room above the casino levels (unless that sounds interesting to you). Thanks Anthony!
