Russ Cook AKA @hardestgeezer has made headline news across the globe. Why? Because he’s just completed the equivalent of 385 marathons in 352 days, running across the entire length of Africa. On his epic journey, Russ took on some of the toughest environmental conditions, including the world’s largest hot desert, the Sahara. But it wasn’t just extreme weather making this such a treacherous mission, Russ also came face to face with robbing, kidnapping, life threatening illness and extreme injuries.
Unsurprisingly, this mission was not his first rodeo. Russ has been taking on extreme challenges for years-running from Asia to the UK, pulling a car the length of a marathon and even burying himself alive for a week. It’s no wonder most people know him better by his nickname, Hardest Geezer.
Back in his hometown, Russ reflects on his colossal mission, revealing a part of his story that has never been spoken on camera before…

The sun was too afraid of his vicious ones and twos🫡

He does this for those of us who can't!
approximately 99.9999% of everyone I suppose.
Yeah bc most people don’t abandon their families to stupidly risk their lives for the sole purpose of fueling their own ego.
@@user-xr7ci8tf3e Weird comment. No need to be jealous of him!
MINDSET. LOCKED AND LOADED.
Fantastic piece. Really love the animations used to help tell his story!!
Slay
I guess he carried the boats and the logs.

David Goggins is proud of this one
I would’ve hauled my ass straight home after being robbed the first time 😭☠☠
Honestly, we get it, can't imagine how scary that would have been 😭
Crazy story, like somethinf out od a movie
I have a question. What is the style of cinematography used by this video? Just curious.
Pretty sure the closest thing to a name is «portrait interview»
I pulled my calf after running 3km the other day. How does this guy do it!? 🤯
He's a legend, that's how 💪😄
Putting hardest geezer in the title messed this up for the algorithm it seems. Should have way more views. "Man runs across Africa" maybe idk
Well done mate

Dont let Goggins hear bout this one
Real life Forest Gump
Imagine seeing the need to rob a guy that is just running, doing no harm to anyone in the process.
Props to this guy though, as a daily runner this is just majestic.
These people live in desperate conditions
The British ruined a lot of thing on countries they invaded, including bread.
The British made Africa great, when Africa decolonised they started declining badly. You should be thankful for the British
@@zacchcanavan5390 yeah right, now return all the gold they stole
@@shronklescrimblo69 no! That's ours, your country exploits itself to death anyway. Nothing wrong in claiming an artefact that is rightfully ours by discovery.
Most ancient items in your lands go to rich men or are destroyed by silly religious men in dresses
@@shronklescrimblo69womp womp
@@zacchcanavan5390 Be so for real. The British literally ENSLAVED the Africans.
Tf you mean “made Africa great”?
the reason why Africa declined after the British left was because the British implemented new systems and when they left they suddenly took everything they had in place.
It left Africa with NOTHING since the British had also DISMANTLED Africa’s original system, meaning they had to build up from ground zero. They were fine before Britain even came! Should’ve just stayed out. 👎
👍👍
Yikes..the everest challenge is so different and so dangerous in different ways, especially if you're going for speed of all things lol 😬 in all likeliehood, would need to wait for goldilocks weather and find a more isolated (and arguably far more dangerous) route away from the crowds if you actually want to go for speed?? That's seems pretty fucked and require heaps of pro mountaineering experience lol...especially with how many would have to be in your team PLUS how many sherpas would be involved in the ascent and descent.
hi
EARLY EARLY
Early bird catches the worm 😉
Ah heeehha naw...Not me. I am NOT going to be captured and held for ransom of 1000 WalMart $100.00 Green Cards by some nutjobs waiting at the Sahel for me to emerge from the jungle.... 🤣🤨😬🙄
Great story but I'll still won't buy any huel products
Tory propaganda
No offense but this is the most self-centered and wasteful thing someone could do. Imagine being so bored with your privileged life that you have to go out of your way to torture yourself to feel something. Does this guy have a family? How are you just able to abandon your family for months to do something that helps absolutely no one but your giant ego? Once you have a child, doing anything but making sure you are around as much and as long as possible is completely selfish. It’s one thing if you’re poor and HAVE to work long hours, but to willingly and routinely do this is so weird.
A working class bloke with little to his name dedicating years of his life and health to a project that raised millions for charity, extensively promoted mental health issues and inspired an entire generation of runners while breaking a world record is not really too selfish in my eyes. Ultimately, he probably did it to prove to himself that he could do it, sure, but this project has benefited hundreds of thousands of people in one way or another. And no, he doesn't have any kids.
I’m glad there are people like Russ in this world. Negative people like you, less so.
