    Not bad for a quick go bag, this is for people that don't want to build their own and would rather just buy something already put together, so it will cost little bit more, that's the point. Of course you could make your own kit and save money, most ppl already have lot of the items on hand already, plus can reuse an old school bag. That said, I think it's a good idea to build your own, and build them with your kids too if you have them, it's a great project! Thx for review.

    Normally pre made bags are filled with cheap junk and mostly unusable stuff, but this one actually seems pretty darn good. I would add a few things in there, perhaps a better tent and sleeping bag (attached to the outside), a small stove and some freeze dried food and a fixed blade knife, and it would really be almost perfect for a starter bag.

    I’ve put together almost the exact same bag of gear just from the basic camping stuff found at Walmart. Altogether, I think it cost me around $150 to build. The only thing I added was my Becker BK16 fixed blade which I already had.
    For an “all in one” emergency kit, this one is pretty good. I think it would be better if it included a printed reference of survival knowledge for people who don’t know how to use everything.

    3V gear has great quality items across the board, I started with one & now have several.
    One the features to mention is the fact that these bags and Pockets open the way they do because it is a sling pack, nothing will come flying out and you can get to it on the go while still wearing it. Great video too.

    The emergency rations is something I have in my go bag.... having rations in a pre made kit is not a bad thing at all and glad to see a company that is thinking about that and even offering it! Nice bag and review as always!

    The sawyer mini is bad ass! Went on a 4 day camping trip with some buddies back in january, no one had any type of water filtration because one of my friends assumed the spring he knew about would be our source of water, but it was frozen unfortunately! Luckily I had my sawyer mini. It literally saved us all from having to boil gallons of water

    The most important core essentials are totally substandard or completely missing.
    It needs a more significant shelter system. This could be accomplished through having a real, fullsized substantial rain poncho and an 8X8 or bigger tarp shelter system.
    You need a real, functional insulation system. I'd start by adding a good heavy duty hoodie and a military poncho liner. In addition, add a wool watch-cap, wool glove liners, and a few pairs of wool sox. I would also have a full top and bottom set of wool longjohns and an oversized medium weight wool sweater. I have seen blazing hot August days drop into the low damp windy 40s when a storm blew in. Better be ready.
    Every disaster comes with rain, cold, unexpected problems with clothing (maybe you werent even wearing any when "It" happens.). Make sure there is at least one change of cloths and underwear. The clothing should be heavy duty rugged outdoor clothing with lots of functional pockets.
    The Nalgene bottles should be replace with no less than a 2qt stainless steel bottle with a wide mouth and a nesting cup.
    Because this is geared for emergencies, I'd actually recommend having two 2qt bottles. When things are rough, better make sure you have at least a days water.

    Tim, I love this bag. I bought 4 and added to them. Sportman's Guide has a deal for $40 you get 4 wool blankets(i think twin size?) and put 1 in each.

      You will die using these bags ❗️If you would have taken the time ad spent £325 you could have got some half decent kit. This bag is cheap and nasty. To me its just a gimmick. Good luck.

    One of the better pre packed kits ive seen although my advice would be build your own kit using quality equipment it may take time to put together and cost a lot more than 300$, it will pay dividends when the time comes to use it. Dont forget to check out gear reviews on youtube before buying.

    • @stephenclarke3990
      @stephenclarke3990 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The majority of people who supposedly review gear on YT have used the item once at most. This bag for example is cheap and nasty, nothing more than a gimmick. I agree with what you say about " build your own" It will 100% cost more than $300, I suppose it depends on what price you put on your life. Sounds dramatic, but thats what it amounts to.

  • @James-ke5sx
    @James-ke5sx 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Worth the price, nice looking bag. Working people with kids etc don't have time to check reviews, order and wait for each item. You get quite a bit of gear for the price. And a decent intelligent selection. I wouldn't call it a Bug-out-Bag more like a get home bag. I'm in Canada and you ain't bugging out into this country with that bag eh.

    One of the other channels did several tests, (three days), and discovered the prepackaged survival foods foods are really lacking in calories and bulk, he became ill after two days. He recommends parts of an mre instead. I surely agree. I took the military desert and jungle survival courses, and am a big believer in as much food and water as possible. Thx, very well done vid.

    • @jonkwarsick2813
      @jonkwarsick2813 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      look into premican for better calories. if made correctly that stuff can take you months easy without anything but added vitamin c. also make your own ships biscuits. MRE's are good but really take up way to much room in a pack storing several days worth

    • @mobius999
      @mobius999 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Emergency rations are not designed to give you everything you need for 72 hours. Unless you are an Olympic athlete you are carrying around plenty of extra calories to burn letting your body cannibalize itself a bit. They are designed to allow you to give yourself bursts of energy when you need to be alert over the 72 hours.
      I find them most useful mixed in with other "real" food that you can prepare during a rest or at camp. If you need to exit an area fast and cannot stop to boil water for dehydrated food these will keep you on your feet until you can stop. When you can stop and prepare better food hopefully it delivers the nutrients these lack to balance you back out. That's the methodology behind how I build my bags anyways.

    Looks like the best premade pack ive seen yet. No bullshit like that seventy2 pack with a bag valued at 200 bucks and a inner "shell" valued at 150 $.
    Still prefer making the pack myself. I know wich products i like and am familiar with, besides i can get a real sleeping bag + tarp for the same price.

    I love a sling pack, that one's a lot better than my maxpedition sling. I've found some awesome options, instead of glow sticks, Bright strike lights are tiny, only weigh a few grams and are good for 200 hours. You can through ten in your pack and its not even an ounce. I found a bunch of stuff its fun but costly. I've spent thousands, kinda doin the untralight thing super effeciantly and to the point I wasted sooo much money. these videos are so valuable for sharing ideas. it save a lot of wasted buys, I really appreciate the info.

    Yeah I can make my own bag and save a few bucks, but at $325.00 you’re paying for the convenience of buying it pre-made. Seems to have some good budget items that are reasonably durable for the intended 3-day bug-out survival scenario. One of the few things I would add is two extra oversized camouflage beanies, a dark ski mask and a camo boonie hat.

    During winter, metal bottles tend to freeze up water quicker, also in winter times I would suggest putting some sort of a ball or something in it to break the ice off as it gets colder keeping your water in a liquid form for an extended period.

    I bought the same first aid kit from Walmart, and even though it has a lot of items included, I wish that it was designed so that I could see everything at one time instead of having to flip through each item to find what I need. I ordered some Israeli bandages, a SWAT-T tourniquet, and a sam splint for more serious injuries. I have the same Gerber multi-tool and its been reliable.

    Really great review enjoyed that you talked about each item and gave some input on the items that you have tried in past videos. I actually have one of these bags myself and love it so far. i like the size of the bag as a 3 day get home bag if SHTF. i keep this with me in my vehicle at all times and it takes up very little space which i like. i've got 2 kids who also are in the truck and require toys and a big diaper bag that take up room . i like being able to have this bag with me and knowing that i can get my family to safety if something were to happen. also a great option that if you dont want the pre made pack you can just buy the contents or customize it to your liking. Great job GATA PACK and Everyday tactical vids.

    Very well thought out kit, price in my opinion is a tad steep, but thats just me. The only things i would have liked to have seen in the pack would have been a folding solid fuel stove, deet and or picaridin. Apart from that id have to give this prebuilt kit a thumbs up. looks as though the company making it has done some research, and quite possibly watched hours upon hours of youtube reviews on other such kits.

    Soon as I saw glow sticks I thought cheap crap. Why would you carry glow sticks rather than a headlamp and batteries. It’s rubbish, get a decent 30 to 40 litre bag and fill it with what YOU need not what a company with an eye on profit think you need. You know the developers haven’t spent more than 2 hours in the wilderness.

    Right now these are on sale for $263-$269 which is nice considering you don't have to build your own kit. My only concern is why is there no Kevlar included in the pack? It's called a survival pack; it's not much good if it's not going to keep projectiles, from penetrating your vital organs. ijs

    I have my own awesome custom GHB and BOB that have been fun putting together and work perfectly for my wants and needs so not interested in a pre-made kit. BUT, I do think there is a place for something like this. As you said, it's a starter that you could add to (if there is room, you didn't show us the inside so it was hard to tell the storage capability). I also think that the pack itself looks pretty cool and I could see myself buying just the pack empty and making kits for family members but still would buy my own contents to spend less and get exactly what they need.
    Also, I think your audience here may not be the audience since we preppers pride ourselves on being self-sufficient and penny-pinching, which translates into doing it ourselves. I'd think the better audience for something like this would not be the prepper community but the general public who are into camping and outdoors. This would be a good starter bag for someone like that. Of course, the price would need to be dropped in half. It's not worth $325. I've spent over $1,000 on mine but I've got a larger, very high-end pack, great knives, lights and other tools for cooking, extensive FAK, etc. and a lot of other miscellaneous essentials. But knock that price down and I can see non-preppers loving this. Just a suggestion.

    Great, well-thought review on a kit that few who are serious about kits will ever buy. That being said, it's a decent option for those friends and/or family who are hesitant, or bewildered by the thought of preparing. I'd have to do the math, (and I hate math in general), but I'm fairly sure my bag - based on an Maxpedition Falcon, was well-shy of $350.00. The food bars for example, are at Walmart for $4.99. The rest of that gear doesn't add up really. But again - this may just be the ticket for the lackadaisical.

    seems okay, decent brands and good amount of the smaller items youd want and at 285 is not great but ive def seen worse more expensive prebuilts. a few additions to tune for your personal needs and some upgrades and it'd end up totally serviceable. would be a good trunk bag for a less then ideal but still good stuff for a 24 hour emergency.

      You definitely got pretty close. Its possible to make a less expensive pack. It is also possible to make a more expensive pack. We went with products we have tested and trust. We did our best to give those who may not have as much experience or knowledge a complete pack without having to spend the time, energy, or money trying to make it themselves. We have priced out the exact price on Amazon and the total is $349.50 (This is with a prime membership without one it would be another $35 for shipping) All that being said, we also offer customization to any pack if the customer would like to take out or add on other items! Thanks for checking out the review and your effort building a pack.

      While I see the point you are trying to make its just incorrect. I don't believe you can find Gerber, Inversion, Nebo, Cyalume, Sawyer, Be Smart Get Prepared, UCO, etc. on Alibaba. Let alone place the minimum order quantity to get any of those comparable items and have them here before 3 months. We are confident not only in the products we chose but that we sell it at a better price than you could buy it yourself as well as time saved for convenience.

      not so sure u need a saw in a 3 day bag since its for hiking to safety not building cap but a stainless cup and bottle would be nice also a few water purification tabs would be nice u never know when a fall out something could puncture your bag and render you waterless and need to restock. also to the video maker stainless bottles aint just for the look stainless has been proven to prevent extra bacteria from growing where a clear bottle with restocked water could be bad when in the sun

    The bag looks very similar to the Maxpedition Sitka gearslinger. You may have seen it on Iron Man when Robert Downey Jr (Stark) infiltrates the Mandarin’s lair. The bag is problematic for running and jumping as it’s unstable on your back. Prolonged carry hurts your back. I’ve used the Sitka for several years. On the plus side, this bag has good compartment spread to pack your things and ease of access as it swings around your torso. I would not use this for prolonged carry in a stressful situation.

    Just a reminder for everyone. Tournaquettes arent a quick medical tool for a mediocer cut. It is only when you have minutes to spare! You will lise your limb if you dont get it treated and the tournequitte removed in less than 15 minutes! Only use one if you know what you're causing. It may be easy to put on, it aint easy to fix a dead leg on your body.

    No fixed blade knife, and that is not much water at all. I would say this bag is maybe worth 200 not the 325, not bad for a beginner or a car kit for getting stuck in the snow maybe. I like that they leave room to add the other things you might need or pick up along the way in a disaster, too many people forget to leave space. I also like how light weight it is. Nothing funnier than seeing someone show off their 100lbs go bag. Not terrible but needs more added and for 325 I would expect a little more of a comprehensive kit. Had to add that while it's not top of the line gear it is definitely not Walmart level junk which is a big plus.

    • @gatapack3054
      @gatapack3054 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We found that people like to choose their own fixed blade so gave them freedom to choose but definitely agree with you room for improvement in that area and something we are looking into. For an emergency though the one included in the Gerber Multi Tool is great. As for the water we supply 1L of water. Then addition to this the Sawyer filter that can filter 100,000 Gallons as well as Katadyn tablets to purify water as well. Thanks for the review and for watching! What other things would you consider adding other than the blade?

    My question of you and others is what would you take and how, for BOB 72h+, when you are travelling with others, especially small children. I saw one that said that each should take their own gear and that the kids stuff should include games such as cards, etc, which is fine, but what about cooking and preparing safe water for them, etc. as the one person type gear in all the packs is not going to cut it when more than one person needs to be supported.
    Yes the kids, should carry their won pack with basics (except infants), games, etc, but perhaps some variation is needed for handling those circumstances and to date no-ne that I have seen seems to have addressed. They are mainly "look after me, me, me", not "us" and there will be many cases where that needs to be managed.

    So much unused space. You could make a killer bug out bag by adding so much more. Must have more was to start a fire 🔥. Add a molle bag to the front. Comes with some ok things. For a little more you can get a military poncho for shelter and poncho. Upgrade the space blanket to the military double sided blanket. So much unused space.

      Squirrel Saga we definitely left room to add in personal things and additions. Great ideas for upgrading the poncho to use as a shelter as well. We recommend also including a lighter due to shipping restrictions we felt it was a common enough item that it wasn’t a problem to add on your own.

    I've never liked pre-made survival kits as you cannot always trust each piece of the kit to perform its designed function. My "home made" kit is loaded with gear and kit items I have used on multiple outings and know that they work. From the Mystery Ranch Scree 32 backpack down to the Olight flashlights I have solid trust in every item; obviously, any item can fail at any time. This backpack even contains cooking gear including Trioxane fuel tablets should my route not have fuel to burn in the stove. The total weight is 18.4 lbs including water (in a stainless steel Pathfinder Kit) and food for six to seven days. I also put together an Emerson chest pack with survival tools, e.g. small hatchet, Silkie Pocketboy, military compass, pepper spray, Gerber Suspension, Smith sharpener, a ferro rod, a Gerber Strongarm ...and just need to load the "final" items upon deployment.

    For a pre made bag, its fantastic. It's a given that ANY pre done pack will need to be personalized so to complain that there is something missing is kinda well. .. Duh. The price however is a bit steep, otherwise great. Again, NO ONE'S loadout will be the same so you customize, that can be said for anyone's specific idea of what gear to pack. Now bring the price down n that system would sell out every time.
