I have seen those houses built, pulled down and rebuilt many times in the village. If it is really old it will be good quality timber....not so old probably cheaper wood painted with sump oil. Looks like a proper issan farm house.
This house has been around and extended for the best part of 70 years. The biggest issue is the brickwork. The lack of foundations is now beginning to show with lots of subsidence. It may be a project for the future or let my son decide as it will be his in the future. Thanks for popping in and leaving a comment. 🍋🍋🍋
I liked that a lot. Liked and subbed.
😯I had better be careful with my grammar😉Thanks for the like and sub Steve. 🍋🍋🍋
Thank you for sharing your story. I myself have a few with my own Thai relatives similar to your story. I don’t do any business there even tho I am from Thailand and have many relatives on my moms side. There’s no reaching out to ask me for anything, I don’t allow it. I keep my distance, block and ignore calls without any guilt. Otherwise I’ll be asked for money for whatever problems they are having. No thanks, I’m not an ATM and I’m struggling as is. I never understood why my mother kept giving money out to relatives like we could afford it…perhaps she felt so much responsibility towards them. Idk 🤷♀️
That is the rule now with my wife's family. I bought it for her mother as she had lived their for nearly 70 years. Now it will pass to my son in time. My wife's family never ask as they tend to know the answer will be a smile and no. They are though, genuinely nice people and we never let money get in the way of things.
That would be great with a modern renovation.
I agree in theory. You would have to start from the foundations up as it hasn't really got any.
Love the Thai houses mate
Thanks Dave, this house has a lot of stories to tell. 🍋🍋🍋
Great project house…could really be a fine residence with not too much work….and yes ‘we’ll played on the purchase’….
Thanks Craig. I would happily renovate if it was structurally sound. It lacks any real foundations and would probably be cheaper to knockdown and rebuild. That being said, it will pass to my son who can make those choices.
I loved hearing that story. You are a very kind person. 😊
Thank you! 😊I am glad you enjoyed it. 🍋🍋🍋🍋
Interesting story and well-played 👌
Glad you enjoyed it!
Subscribed mate ! Interesting video thanks.
Thanks for the sub! Glad you enjoyed the video. 🍋🍋🍋
Thanks for sharing Dave I thought that it was just my wife’s family that never repaid but after 220,00 baht in loans the door is now closed, where are you in Buriram I’m in a village called Ban Pleum Pattanna the nearest big place is Nang Rong about 40 minutes drive and Pakham 15 minutes away.?
Hi Alan. We are not far from you in Lahhan Sai, welcome to pm me and we can meet for coffee sometime. 🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋
@@lemonfarmthailand would love to Dave you live by Non Din Daeng , we often eat up by the big lake in the restaurants, would happily treat you the wife and son to a lunch, I go back to Uk for 6 months on 13 May and have a break booked in Kho Chang 30 April until 05 May any time in between I can do
The more you give, the less respect you get. They're also the most ungrateful you will see anywhere in the world and deep down the Farangs aren't even humans to them.
I am sorry you seem to have had a negative experience. The fact is, everyone has had and will have a different story. I am lucky that I haven't had your experience. Ultimately, you are in charge of your own bank account. Once bitten twice shy. If you keep repeating YOUR mistakes, who is to blame? Yes, You.
Another good informative video Dave, educate the uneducated westerners 👍
Thanks Tony. I will be catching up on your channel this afternoon. Hope all is well and you are benefitting from the rain.
here is a cool comment for you. :)
We appreciate your support as always my friend. 🍋🍋🍋😎
High pitch stairs? 555
They would keep you fit 😂 🍋🍋🍋
Did I see a Christmas tree in a box ?
Very observant of you😂We use this house for storage these days.
i have helped my Thai Family many times and all money has been repaid. If you are part of a Thai family it is expect that the family help each other. Its part of the culture. Be careful who you pick as your GF. All of my family is employed. When I needed help they have always helped me
My wife's family are pretty cool people. I just couldn't let her mother become homeless due to one bad decision. Not all Thai / foreign relationships are bad, this is just a little story about what happened and the outcome. Thanks for the comment. 🍋🍋🍋🍋
