Thanks for helping me wrap my head around the BX Digital V3- I had a feeling I would make good use of it.

thanks for the demo on the brainworx plugin Ronan. I just started using that plug-in a few weeks ago. for mastering. I really like the way it enhances the stereo field.

Great review Ronan! Totally agree with you on the Digital V3, it is one of my core "go to" EQs, just LOVE it.
Incidentally, for others wanting to know a little more, the "Dynamic EQ" is very useful and works a lot like a "De-esser", but can not only cut certain frequencies, but can boost them too in a targeted way (one on the mid, one on the side).
Very useful sometimes when a specific unpleasant sound needs to be subtly "tamed", or a pleasant tone is getting lost in the mix and this tool can help to cut through the mix surgically. :)

Ronan - something I've never seen anyone unpack and cover on TH-cam or otherwise is mic-ing/recording closed-back vs open back guitar cabs...would be very help to see how you approach this and whether or not there is any noticeable difference between open vs closed-back for the mic'd/recorded track vs "what you hear in the room", which can no doubt be a bit misleading, when you're trying to fit things into the context of the overall song/track. Dr Z makes some nice 1x12 cabs that can be either open or closed-back (removable panel in the middle). Using the same cab and speaker would be ideal for testing things, but anything you are interested in spinning up would be excellent.

I have the V2 and am upgrading to V3. BEST M/S EQ on the market in my opinion, hands down!

Can you just simply update v2 to v3? I have a lot of preset, and I don't want to lose them...

I do not think so. I think they are totally separate plugins, but I am not sure.

Yes you can just upgrade to V3. You will still have you're V2 plugin as well and the presets should all still be saved! Also if you have V2 you should be available for a upgrade for $50 for the V3. Thats how much i upgraded mine for, hope this helps. Cheers.

Yeah that's a good one. I love my bx digital V3. I also noticed this feature on Newfangled Audio (sold by Eventide) Equivocate. I use that one a lot for subtractive notching too have you tried it?

I am looking for simple advice and i have question: Can i buy and use this EQ like stand alone VST2/3 Plugin or i need to have UAD-2 USB DSP audio system or i can buy it and use it just like Plugin in my DAW?
