    Excellent tutorial! I'm going to try this with a Warthog I harvested in SA last year. I was looking for a way to make the tusks stand out and this should work nicely. Thanks again!

    Your skulls fully painted are gorgeous! Do you have a video explaining how you created those beautiful paint designs… similar to paint pouring or?

      Yes I do! I have several videos on this channel. Feel free to watch and hit me with questions.

      @@JodyGallaway where can I buy fordite? I googled yesterday and it gave me a list of auto part stores. Just not sure what I am looking for when I goin to auto parts and ask for fordite for painting.. will they have different colors?

    I love this. Not sure if I got distracted and just didn't catch this...
    Is each individual layer of paint meant to be a different color from the last or is the method better executed with multiple layers of one color before moving onto the next?

    • @JodyGallaway
      @JodyGallaway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Each layer is a different color, but this method is very flexible. I typically stay to 2 or 3 colors, but that just my preference. Best of luck.

    The paint solids shrinks and cracks... Happens when too much material is applied as the solvents evaporate or, when the substrate is made of inferior compounds or lack of surface mechanical or chemical adhesion.... The use of red or grey scotchie pads work great for mechanical & or use of spray can adhesion promoter like Bulldog brand for chemical...
    It would be cool to see these skulls painted with some translucent shadowing,ECT with an airbrush as well....
    I'm an automotive painter - we deal with this kind of stuff daily. Ha

    What products did you use to recreate the missing bone?

    • @JodyGallaway
      @JodyGallaway  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use apoxie sculpt to fix bone, even make new one. Make sure its fully cured before you apply paint and always apply a primer over the epoxy before you go to your colors.
      All the best.

    Would love to see the layering process. What do you use?

    • @JodyGallaway
      @JodyGallaway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use three colors of Rustoleum gloss paint. The final clear top coat can be any finish, glass, semi, satin or flat. it depends on what look you are going for. Check out this video. th-cam.com/video/KLiHFDH6jDs/w-d-xo.html

    How many coats of paint do you spray? And do you alternate each color?

    • @JodyGallaway
      @JodyGallaway  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A minimum of 12 layers. I typically alternate each coat. In some cases I may include only one of two layers of a highlight color, like red, but there are no rules. Apply the paint in whatever combination you want to see when you wet sand down. Have fun and send pics.

    what type of spray paint did you use

    • @JodyGallaway
      @JodyGallaway  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rustoleum gloss paints. make sure the paint and your skull are at the same temperature and that each layer of paint of dry before moving to the next layer. All the best.
