Great video! Just subscribed. We've been in Ecuador for the last 6 weeks and we're loving it here. The weather has varied depending on where we are (Andes vs. beach) but it's always been pleasantly cool to quite hot. And yes, being able to speak even a bit of Spanish is super useful!
@@Eddie_He We’re traveling full-time right now, but we’re always looking for places that would be interesting to move to in the future. I can definitely see why people move here!
Thanks Acario! Got some cool stuff coming soon I think you'll like! And my favorite Ecuadorian dish...I do love me some Fritada Con Motte. Or the soups here - super good! Going to make a video about best places to eat. Thinking about visiting?
Nice man. Nice. You have to check out Carolina Park in Quito on the weekends. When I was in Quito, I would go there on Sundays to do calisthenics, there are a ton of wicked good people.
Me encanta tu contenido. Corto, entretenido y muy informativo. Nos puedes hablar más de lugar donde te hospedas? Es un Airbnb fantástico! Está disponible ?
Thanks so much Ana!! Will keep posting content for you! It is actually a homestay I arranged with a friend but I am looking for my own apartment or Airbnb soon...will let you know what I find out!
Not personally! Especially if you stay for a few days you become acclimatized. I had a few friends visit from the states and it definitely bothered them though…😅 video on that coming soon!
It’s a nice video, and it’s clear you are enjoying your time in Ecuador. But you are not at all living a normal life in Ecuador. Aside from the slower pace and the eating, you’re living the lifestyle of the way upper class. This isn’t a snapshot of normal living in Ecuador. When you step down to a lower economic level, like middle class, you’ll see that it is far more simulator to the USA than you realize. Enjoy your stay, but don’t think what you’re experiencing is “normal”.
Thanks Andrew, I agree - should caveat I live in the upper class around here. Would be curious to see the differences in lifestyle between socio-economic classes and how it differs with the US too.
@@Eddie_He, the differences would terrify you. I do not recommend it. You have no experience with this. Enjoy your stay, but perhaps make an edit in your video description. You would not well handle someone putting a gun or knife in your face for your cell phone or camera. I’m not trying to sound sarcastic, I know it may read this way, but I’m a direct speaker. You are in a fairly well protected bubble, and probably have been for some time. It’s good, we all would like that. I get dirty for my work. I’ve had guns pointed at me. I’ve had people rob me. I’ve gotten into fights. I’ve played soccer with people that threatened me with machetes. You’re fine where you are. To be honest, it would not be right for you to go searching elsewhere. Just as a clarification , I make a comfortable six figure income. I work in a technical area, outside in the New England elements in every shitty neighborhood in my state. I have a university degree in anthropology. I learned Spanish to a comfortable degree on my own without classes. Even in retirement, I will live quite comfortably in Ecuador when the time comes, still no where close to the privilege you are enjoying. I’ve spent most of my time in Guayaquil. I’ve also been to Cali, Colombia and the DF of Mexico.
We love to watch your videos. No video uploaded for a week. People are anxiously waiting for next one.
Will try to get them out weekly!
Well, I'm happy you're having a good time in the Sierra.
Gracias JD! La costa es mi destino próximo 🌊
One reason people don't eat breakfast in the usa or Canada is to save time and money so you can pay the taxes in Canada in the year

Great video! I enjoyed watching it and learning about Ecuador. Thanks!
Thanks Jana!!
Welcome to Ecuador! I live in Guayaquil. Judging from the placemats at breakfast your hosts must shop at Supermaxi. We have an identical set😊
Haha hey Kevin, yes we shop at Supermaxi. We try to mix in some food from the farmer's market too every now and then.
