  • 7:30 - Go straight to the cheap fix (you know you want to)
A heavy solid steel tow hitch rattles loose and comes off of a ute travelling at 100km/h on an uphill track of the South East Freeway just 10mins out of Adelaide and bounces up through the windscreen of the car behind.
    Fortunately there no serious injuries.
In this video i’ll be going through why this may have happened and how to prevent it happening to you with fixes from just 5 cents.

I use the lock at 4:23 and never had any issues. Just spray wd40 into the lock once a while

Mate... thieves are stupid, but not that stupid haha. I think you said the tek screw head was 3/8" so most people would have that size spannar in their kit which would remove that screw in a flash. Dont need the socket you used or a drill even.

Haha luckily most are opportunistic and this is really just so people don’t nick your pin and leave the hitch unsecured 👌🏻. If your carrying around a 3/8 bit or similar then you deserve it 🤣

I think you should take it off when not towing. You can buy candy for 5 cents.

If you can learn to secure it properly. Use a proper hitch lock.
