Yes, I was six when I saw it -- living in a foster home at the time. Hard phase in a kid's life. I never forgot this episode, nor the song after all these decades.
I remember this episode and song from when I was about 7 or 8 years old back around 1955 or '56. I also thought it was a pleasant song but never could find it again. Thanks for putting it up, it does bring back some enjoyable memories.
Just now out walking with wife, I spontaneously began to sing the phrase "...white buffalo", complete with echo. After all these decades (I was born 2.14.47), damned if I didn't nail it. All important childhood school material should be delivered in the form of song lyrics. Ha!
Rin Tin Tin was my favorite show and I always remembered this song - When it first aired, I begged my Mom to learn it for me on piano so I could sing it in our Elementary School Talent Show. She worked really hard on it for me but just before going on stage, I chickened out and ran out the back door of the auditorium crying. After all these years it's still one of my favorite songs and I remember all the words - sorry, Mom......
Steve -- Could you please, please, with sugar on top, do something with the sound quality? I was seven or eight when I heard this song for the first and last time. It's an important memory.
I’m 75 today. Have always loved this song and episode. Some things just leave a deep imprint on us. Just saw on a news feed, another one was born.
Me too!!! ❤️
My favorite episode of the series.😢
I remember how at the end of the episode you see the white buffalo standing in the mist. Still haunts my mind. I was seven.
I'm 74 years old and I remember seeing this. I used to sing it and was glad I found it on TH-cam.
I'm 74 also. This is the first time hearing the song since I was 7 years old!
This episode resonated with so many, me included. Now 70. Still remember the words.
The one episode that has stuck with me for 65 years or so.
I saw the original broadcast of this episode when I was 5 1/2 years old. I never forgot it or the song. I can still sing every word of it by heart.

I always hoped he would sing more. What a beautiful voice he had! ❤
I’m 75, saw this when it first aired in 1955, and still love this song…
I recall I was about 8 years old and watched this on Rin Tin Tin about 1956. A great little song.
Omg. I'm 70 and still know the words.
I'm 54 and I'm right there with you. Totally remember this episode.

Another song that stayed with me since childhood.

And a White Buffalo calf was just born on an indian reservation here in the US in June, 2022. Said to portent Great Things and a New Cycle of Renewal.
Obrigada.
I had this record...a 45. The other side was something like "Forward Ho, ride on brave men of Fort Apache, I think. It's been awhile...hahaha.
The White Buffalo was seen by the Viet Nam Vets at the first Rainbow Gathering.
Does anyone have a clip of Lt. Rip Masters singing Ride Out to Fort Apache song?

What was the Disney's movin picture wherein the white boy has to run and run and run to save his family, and he sees the white buffalo?
