    We went to Tunisia 20 years ago for our summer holidays when I was a teenager, we stayed in tourist hotel with a massive water slide which was really cool.
    However the thing I remember about it mainly was going to Sousse one evening it was such a beautiful city, felt like I'd take a step back in time and got to experience an old style arabic city.Walking down the small streets with all the little shops was a really different experience than you would get on most Mediterranean sun holidays and I'd love to go back to Sousse again some time.

      Tunisia and Morocco have a lot of old city wall, old city gates, old fort, tower, citadel, castle, palace, old Moorish mosque, old church, old university, old medieval traditional Arab and Berber houses, old Roman and Carthage ruins, old medieval city and town. beautiful old paving, street and road. old market. Its sad to look Syria and Iraq today it ruins, many castle, old city, old thousand years temple, mosque and church, traditional houses, city wall and palace destroyed.

    I was living 2/3 km from Carthage At the st Vincent de Paul Orphelinat untill 1960. If any one knows a person living at La Marsa or can help information about it. I. Would appreciate it...
    I did my confirmation in the then Cathedral of Carthage.

      Yeah man I’m Tunisian never been to Carthage but I think I heard abt that Cathedral but basically it’s abandoned but still perfectly maintained by the government which is weird because there are many ottoman mansions that they haven’t been maintained and are now threatened of collapsing but they did it for that church for touristic purposes so u can still visit it and see those chambers that u wouldn’t be able or allowed to see in an actively run Catholic church

    • @lucius5787
      @lucius5787 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The church is still active but not as a church but rather a culture center with theater and music shows. I know a friend whose from Marsa so if you are still interested may be I can send you to him .

    Even though I can see all the research behind this documentary, a lot of information are distorted with a big focus on amplifying some of the issues, even through the translation from the Tunisian dialect to English.

    People have always lived in peace and tranquility in Tunisia, or as the Romans, Vandals and Arabs knew it as Africa. It's spots like Tunisia and Andalus where prosperity and cultural richness flourished for centuries. Tunisia is easily in my opinion the most under-rated country in the whole world. because its size and voice does not represent its true value as a nation. Perhaps the next generations of Tunisians will fix it.

    I was born and raised in Tunis, the capital. I have never heard or used the word "bacha" 😂, please, you are in Tunis not Cairo. It seems that you are a little bit confused. And, of course, Tunisia was COLONIZED by France. It is a COLONY not a protectorate. This is another confusion from the very first seconds of the documentary.

    • @WaedMemni
      @WaedMemni 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      barcha not bacha meaning a lot. It's most typical tunisian word.

      What ?????????
      Islam is new in Tunisia only 1400 years old compares to how old Tunisia is newly 12 thousands years old.
      Read the history of Tunisia then write a comment.
      Muslim invaded in 643 AD they committed atrocities.

      its an ancestral tradition that's been going for several centuries. People over there don't need nivea and all the diy stuff. In rafraf beach you can find holes where you pick the clay and ask your grand mother for some orange blossom water to mix it and you're all set. some people mix it with sea water at the beach and do it right there. Great memories!
