- Matheran is an automobile-free hill station and a municipal council in the Karjat taluka of the Raigad district located in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Matheran is one of the smallest hill stations in India.It is located in the Western Ghats, at an elevation of around 800 m (2,625 feet) above sea level. It is about 90 km from Mumbai, and 120 km from Pune. This proximity to these urban areas makes it a weekend getaway for many.
How to reach:
1) Catch any train which stop at Neral Junction Railway Station 🚂
2) From Neral Junction you can either go by toy train or by sharing taxi towards Matheran.

People usually come as early as possible and also it's your luck to get toy train tickets usually on weekends due to crowds 😀 so you may try your luck 🤞

You can reach to Neral Railway Station by local train which is in Karjat Line of Central Railway and from Neral Jn you may take toy train or sharing Jeep to reach matheran.
