I was 9 years old and Xmas was still magical for me. Oh how life jade's us . I hate what Christmas has become. Now we have Xmas decorations and adverts the same time as Halloween ones and by the time Xmas comes your fed up of it all. We now also have consumer driven kids all spoilt rotten more focused on the cost of the gifts rather than the love and work it took to buy them in the first place.. Xmas decorations have changed drastically too. The old lights are all LEDs now . The tinsel and trimmings hanging from every corner have gone. Real trees have also become rare. Kids are treated to loads of sweets and fruit and nuts all year round . Mother's dont have a certain cupboard with Xmas food in that you dare not touch till Xmas day lol. They simply order online or drive to a massive supermarket a day or two before Xmas These days. Same as shopping for gift's. I think it was a mix of all those things and more is why the season has lost its magic for many of us . We need a time machine for those of us who want to go back to simpler times 😆. I loved the video tho mate 👍
I'm the same age as you, I agree. I do still have a christmas cupboard like my mum used to and everyone is banned from it, this adds to the excitement and none of us watch Christmas films until a week or so before or listen to Christmas music at home til then either. Men up the pub Christmas eve and boxing day whilst the ladies cook the dinner. I love that we as a family have managed to keep some traditions.
He seems like a lovely/genuine guy, but my God, the sight of him in that montage sent a shiver down my spine that even the later sight of Jimmy Saville couldn't surpass. They probably still use the Russ Abbot show and his 'songs' in North Korea to break the wills of otherwise strong and heroic individuals. The very prospect of having to watch him would have seen me out on my BMX, despite the dark and freezing conditions. @@lordsofafan372
OK so the past seems so wonderful but life moves on and least we have christmas. Today I heard asda going against the woke lot.. playing christmas songs to remind all those non christmas believing customers who have paddled here. This is Britain n Xmas is still here!!!! Beware of too much thinking about of the past was better because if we not careful Xmas will disappear just like all the comedians
I was 6 years old. Happy days. Wish I could go back. 😢

I think the Xmas day premiere of Crocodile Dundee got some of the highest TV ratings ever for the BBC.
If Teenwolf was shown tonight its figures would count as 'high' for the BBC these days!!
Dot Cotton RIP❤
Magical days
Christmas tv actually worth watching (well, still some twaddle)
Thanks so much
