Blondie is an American rock & new wave band co-founded by singer Debbie Harry & guitarist Chris Stein. They had a lot of great hits in the 70's-90's such as "Call Me", "Atomic", "The Tide Is High", “Rapture”, "Picture This", "Hanging On The Telephone", "I'm Gonna Love You Too", "One Way Or Another", "Sunday Girl", "Island Of Lost Souls", "War Child", "Maria" etc.

That song always gets played when some cult or another decides that the world is ending. Every DJ puts on Blondie’s “Rapture,” R.E.M.’s “It’s the End of the World As We Know It,” and a bunch of other apocalypse songs. Thankfully, we live to sing them again. LOL

Blondie are from New York - they broke through in Australia first, then they came to Britain in 1977 and had loads of hits beginning with "Denis" - Britain still loves Blondie ! I saw them in London at the Roundhouse in 1978 - Debbie who looked stunning - was singing to a largely male audience - she did that thing where she touched hands from the stage with some of the guys at the front - she almost got pulled off the stage ! I guess she got the guys a little too excited ! Happy Days.

Blondie hit it big here in the US in the early 80s because, imo, disco died, real rock was comatose, and the seen one seen them all big hair glitz & Glam rockers polluted radio airwaves.
