Folks re listen to this!!! He is saying that he wants the best actor to play a role, irregardless of their own identity. They are actors, their skills should allow them to play the role.
This is slightly confusing. The first part of this seems to say Sean Penn is cool w straight actors playing gay roles and vice versa. But then the latter part seems to criticize this. 🤷🏼♂️
He's providing a band aid while criticizing their roots. Cast diversity so people stop talking about it and use the fact the people still call the movies lame after to write better stories.

when the role of the mentally challenged person in "I Am Sam" was offered to him, Sean Penn agreed that he was the right person for that role
He was 😂

He is actually mentally challenged though lol
He's right. Look what happens when they have him play a smart person. It would never work. But they always have him play a moron. Perfect.
It’s called acting. I wonder who in the rainbow/small-hat mafia has his number?

We heard, but he has burned all his credibility bridges by being a supporter of Hillary C.
@@Harrythehun I agree that he isn’t credible due to past history, a lot of Americans are red pilled now. Maybe he is as well

@ yes, I must apologize. I’m so sorry, I misunderstood. Thank you for pointing this out. Feeling silly right now.!
rich can only be played by upper class, lower by lower... etc etc.
I enjoyed that Penn in Taps (1981), and A State of Grace (1990) - his finest role, in my opinion - opposite Gary Oldman, my favorite actor.
Wow and I thought he was a pompous jerk. I mean that's just 51 years of following him on media. I'm not always right though. This gives me great hope.
Penn is right
There’s straight Hollywood actors?
He is so unimportant
Technically nobody is important. He's correct here though
