I’m 54 and have lifted weights my whole life. You have been the BEST at providing advice from a reality standpoint!! You’ve taken the EGO aspect out of your teachings, which keeps it all in perspective! It’s not about lifting harder (aka the most weight possible), it’s lifting smarter (movement and control). Love what you do!!

Great info as usual. You remind me an ex bodybuilder here in my country who always said "train with brain". He used to say similar tips years ago but I ignored it by ego lifting. Years later I realised how useful it would be If i followed his advice. Less injuries and more muscle for sure. Keep more videos coming

ABSOLUTE GOLD: on decline press machine“Keep your shoulders down as if someone is pushing down on them, squeezing elbows”. Felt my chest fire so much better. Thank you Mike 🙏

The content and information you are providing is priceless!!
I am grateful and appreciative of all the corrections and micro explanations you share. Some of us are not so young and been through several injuries in life and your method of training solves many of the issues we face in the gym. Keep doing what you’re doing 🙏

Great tips and great car analogy re: priming but I have to say my favourite part of this video Mike was your laser shooting tripod glass eyeball.

What lead to the eye issue brother? Sorry to hear. Though Im sure you will treat it like every other injury and just power through. I know I would. Blessings to you my friend, you have given me a lot of confidence to lift light (correctly) again in a sea of ego lifters and Im seeing the best gains of my life!

At 50 this is some great advice and I will keep listening to it. Like you said, too many just lift, why not build why you are lifting?

    Mike as always great info.
On a totally different topic I'm curious if you have any thoughts on old school Mike Metzner HIT?
Training to complete failure w precise movement.
Obviously you have to know how to properly move weight before doing this type of training but would love to hear some insight.
Personally I've trained well over 25 years & competed on a novice level but but like everyone else was always on the thinking that more was better. I did make what I thought was enormous size gains w that training but it wasn't until I began HIT total failure & beyond that my growth really took off.
    BTW I'm 55yo now
    Appreciate your time..
    👍🏼💪🏽

this video is for stupid old people like me. It’s good just to be reminded the importance of warming up or even what warming up means, especially a critical joint like shoulders. If whatever joint is sore/don’t feel right even after warming up, screw it, skip that body part/movement for another day.
