  • Hello everyone in todays video I am showing how to remove rear bumper and also how to put it back on my Peugeot 407 SW. Its a quick job takes only about 20-30min, when you know what you doing. And if you watch this video you will know all locations of all the Torx screws, bolts and nuts and the actual procedure in removing a Peugeot 407 SW rear bumper. Sedan and coupe rear bumpers are quite similar to remove so hopefully this video helps not only a SW owners but also a coupe and sedan owners too. Enjoy a video. And please subscribe the channel.
    P.S Tools I have used:
    T20 L shape Torx key
    Flat screw driver
    Ratchet Wrench with 10mm socket on it/ 10mm spanner can be used
    I used a Hose clamp Pliers, but you can use normal Pliers
    Torch
    And I used a Jack to lift one rear side a bit then filming.
    So as you can see you only need a very few basic tools for this job.

    I have to say your channel is the best explanatory car repair channel on U Tube. No annoying music , no silly loud behavior, etc, just clear precise explanation on how to do the job. Brilliant. If only all U Tube videos were as good.

    We have two 407sw Xs 170’s and your videos are invaluable... Far better than the Haynes manual. Many thanks and keep them coming. Many, many thanks for taking the time to share them with the world.

    I have a 308 GT Line 2015 not the same car as your video but basically the same applies and with bit of common sense it will help to sort the problem. A very informative video and very well presented thanks

    What about disconecting parking sensor will it give foult latter on ? Keep up with good work mate your video with timing belt help me alot by waching it i was able to change it save alot of money

      @Mad4FrenchCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It shouldn't give any fault but if you can always disconnect a battery before this job just to be on a safe side if you want otherwise should be OK. Also if after this kind of job you do get some sort of error you can turn of parking by the button in your centre consol and then turn it on again.

    Hey, love you videos, they helped me out a lot! Just a question, do you know if breaklights between facelift and pre-facelift models are interchangeable? I like the look of facelift model breaklights and I'm thinking about of changing them but I have no idea if they will fit my pre-facelift model.

    • @Mad4FrenchCars
      @Mad4FrenchCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello mate, thankyou for a nice comment. Yes I can confirm that prefacelift and facelift rear brake lights are interchangeable. And I personally even sold few sw facelift brake lights to people so they could swap theyr prefacelift ones for a facelift ones to get that facelift look. Also before I sold my last car which was silver facelift sw I have took facelift lights out and I put prefacelift lights before I sold it😎.

      @Andreas Glad ya 100% they did a good faking job. Brake lights is one of the most common faults on these cars aswell as brake lights connectors tend to burn. Also brake light bulbs doesn't last long.

    • @Mad4FrenchCars
      @Mad4FrenchCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Andreas Glad sounds good I have swapped my connectors for now aswell, but I am thinking to do some mods on them brake lights in a near future so I will probably do connectors again a bit different way.

    Hello! My student son has a 307 SW and has bashed the rear bumper. Have you done a video of replacing one of those? Otherwise, I suspect there may be some similarities!

    • @Mad4FrenchCars

      Hi mate I haven't done a video on 307 rear bumper but it should be fairly similar to 407.

    9:34 - when the nut starts binding, tighten it up again, spray more WD40 and then undo. Usually a bit of dirt / rust getting in the threads.

    Nice design of car having room for a 215/55/17 under the boot floor

    • @Mad4FrenchCars
      @Mad4FrenchCars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. Some car raise a floor considerably with full size spare. 407s and also 508 have a good space for full size spare.

    • @chrishart8548
      @chrishart8548 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mad4FrenchCars the best you can hope for now is room for a space saver under the normal boot floor. And even that's getting rarer now. Mazda 3 doesn't even have room for a space saver.
