Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to remove the instrument cluster also known as gauges on VW Jetta MK6. Make sure that you disconnect your battery at least 30 minutes before you remove the cluster. It is not very complicated procedure once you know what to do.

Is it plug and play? I have the gauges like the ones in the video but I’m wanting the one with the multi-function display. If I swapped them, would they have to be programmed to my car?

Yes needs programmed as the immobilizer and keys are programmed in the cluster.

Angie King I just did mine.
U just plug back in.
If u disconnect the battery, when u reconnect it the computer will throw off a few codes. Tire pressure and traction control, they go away once u do a little driving or let the engine run, maybe turn the wheels a little.
That’s what happened on my Mk7.

For a 2004 VW Jetta 2.0 you have to reprogram as I am still trying to find out what I all need to reprogram it myself as I know everything can be done yourself
