Superb story and telling. In my youth I was. U.S. Marine and the highest score you could receive was "noteworthy" which for a Marine is almost unheard of. This little story passes with a "noteworthy". Good work. Reminds me of the Kolchak mysteries of the 1970s.
I just recently began my Cthulhu Mythos Journey and now, I’m completely obsessed! My love of Ocean & Cosmic Horror has led me down a path to learn more about the Mythos, since a lot of the stories revolve around the Sea and the Unknown. I LIKE this ending! Well done my talented friend! My enjoyment is palpable. Sitting on my bed with my cat on my lap ( as he allows me to grab him when frightened) and a large glass of wine, I listen...holding my breath.
Wowwwww Ian...this was...this was friggin AMAZING, my friend. I won't lie, when I first saw the words "Cthulhu Mythos" I thought to myself, "Oh boy, here we go. Now even IAN couldn't resist the urge to force out a story that has itself been forced full of the by-now cliché places, objects, and terms that we so broadly deem 'Lovecraftian' these days". This story exceeded, and tbh demolished, any expectations I could have draped upon it. While some minor aspects of the subject matter were borrowed, this story was a good 90% original, and the vibe shows that. It really felt like you knew this world, (with its believable characters and their even more believable demeanors) and had spent a great deal of time there...observing, learning, understanding. You're the God in that particular universe, and your voice shone through everywhere it needed to, yet still took a back seat when needed to serve the story. We learned just enough to make us believe, and nothing more. You should be proud of yourself, Ian. Hell, I'm proud of you! 😆

Brilliant story. I work retail and these stores have kept me half out of Hell for bout 12 years. That piano in the intro is like coming home. Makes graveyard and 2nd shift a tiny bit better to have a good audio book.

I have to admit I was fairly impressed with this story. Having read many Cthulhu mythos stories it very much reminds of Brian Lumley's works. Good job Ian.
I wade through many readings of this and other genres, and seldom do I come across one not actually penned by Lovecraft that I enjoyed as much as this one. Certainly Ian's voicings along with his natural reading voice are a large part of the enjoyment. No one enunciates "toad" with such a feeling of revulsion as Mr. Gordon. I very much admire his expert use of the various British, Welsh and Scottish dialects. When he does an American, it makes me wish I had a more distinctive accent! I wonder if the protagonists in this well-crafted tale will join forces in future eldritch adventures ... perhaps some more directly a part of the Cthulhu Mythos. It sounded as if they might. I hope so.
this is real good -- as was to be expected from an HB original. although the atmosphere kinda reminds me more of John Silence or Thomas Carnacki than of the often bleaker mythos.
Well done Ian. This was a treat in many ways. The writing was delightfully original and yet fully within the Cthulhu universe, where nightmares feel at home. As always the production and voice acting were far above and beyond the competition. Scratch that last sentence, horrorbable has no competition. Thank you.

Certainly Ian's voicings along with his natural reading voice are a large part of the enjoyment. No one enunciates "toad" with such a feeling of revulsion as Mr. Gordon. I very much admire his expert use of the various British, Welsh and Scottish dialects. When he does an American, it makes me wish I had a more distinctive accent! I wonder if the protagonists in this well-crafted tale will join forces in future eldritch adventures ... perhaps some more directly a part of the Cthulhu Mythos. It sounded as if they might. I hope so.

this is real good -- as was to be expected from an HB original. although the atmosphere kinda reminds me more of John Silence or Thomas Carnacki than of the often bleaker mythos.
I love it but I want bookish scared Ian explaining why he isn't mad as well as Carnacki Does Cthulhu :) We are spoiled.
Well done Ian. This was a treat in many ways. The writing was delightfully original and yet fully within the Cthulhu universe, where nightmares feel at home. As always the production and voice acting were far above and beyond the competition. Scratch that last sentence, horrorbable has no competition. Thank you.
