- Hey Guys, Thanks for watching. I wanted to review the Bose Smart 900 Soundbar. It is my new soundbar for my living room and I LOVE it. For the size and customization options, it is less expensive than the SONOS Arc and sounds way better in my opinion. It is the best soundbar I have tried under $1000 and its not even close. With the bass module, it sounds even better. Let me explain why some of the criticism has been off the mark.

I just bought the 900 with the 700 bass module and you don’t need the bass module, but I did. I want to feel the movie/music and this definitely makes that happen. Super clean too. Amazon prime day all for under 1350
Thats a good deal! I have the bose 700 but when I combined the 900 and the 700 module, the sound was rich and dynamic but overkill for my small house.
Is it Voice control is good ? Likewise better than Polk Signa 4 that you reviewed. Can I get the best Dolby Atmos at this?
Is that sound you played without Bass Module?

Anyone that tells me all highs no lows must be Bose, needs to come to my house. This soundbar with the bass module and the surround/back speakers is a good buy.

Very nicely explained why don't you make a video by comparing Bose and JBL and Sonos that will give us more options to choose if you can
The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is great, there's no doubt about that. For a review, I'd suggest to play music with vocals in it, to show midrange clarity or the lack of. Also raising treble or bass isn’t the factor to identify good sound. Also showing Atmos height effects with Dolby test footage would be nice. In order for videos like this to be called a „review“, there is a lot to improve.
It's a good soundbar but you need the sub+rears for any kind of Atmos.

‘Sum of all parts’, electricity, if it’s draining the power source ( battery) it will definitely impact the sound quality even so on the frequency level , but why ? There’s must be so many other moving parts to it? Mother board is considered the CPU , so just because it is on doesn’t mean guaranteed frequency notes being hit ( I’m new to this)
I just ordered today here in Germany Bose 900 , at this moment, cost 700€ 👌
This is the point with this sound bar, it offers more immersive fuller sound than other speakers. U need subs and rear speakers from other brands to compete. This is often missed, as they try to say the others are better value, as other brands come with a sub. With bose u have to pay more. bar vs bar there’s no competition. Bose is much more powerful,
Sure, just be ready to pay 2 grand for the whole surround sound setup.
Even with @sonos you have to buy everything separately

I still use my vintage 2-channel system with JBL L-100 speakers fed by a Marantz 2252B receiver. I prefer 2-channel audio, so how does the 900 sound as a regular 2-channel system? I'm setting up a new media room with an 85" TV. Thanks

would you recommend unplugging the soundbar when not in use or just leave them plugged on standby? Does this affect the lifespan of the unit?

Sound bars work best when left plugged in between uses. This does not affect lifespan of the device, as there is no battery involved. It draws very little (though more than none) energy when in standby. Hope this helped!
Mine is always on. I even turned off the network standby. It's always on.
Bose soundbar 900 or klipsch cinema 800/1200?
So by comparison would you go with this or the Sonos arc? Both with and without their dedicated subs (Bass Module 700 for Bose and gen 3 sub for Sonos)
Hi! It would be completely price dependent. The bose goes on sale more (bose 900 was $699 recently). I do not hear a $100 or 200 difference between the Sonos arc and the bose 900 especially since both have atmos. I prefer the bose soundstage and more balanced sound profile. With subs, I prefer the bass module 700 but have heard good things about the Sonos sub mini. I would only go with the Gen 3 at full price if I could pair 2 together. Everyone's sound tastes are different so I recommend picking based on your home theater set up and needs. If you have kids, the bose smart headphone feature is great.

I’m going to see if I can listen to some in display this weekend to get a better idea, but the listening area is vastly different from my living room so I know the transition will bring differences as well. I do have a one year old, and I’m not familiar with the smart headphone feature, but it seems interesting also. Thanks again! You’re great!

I have the Samsung s800b and have tested the q990b. How large is your room? But from a quality control point of view, the bose is better build quality, better warranty, better customer service.

Hi! Standalone bose 900 with no sub will not be as powerful or as loud as the JBL 9.1. The JBL has side speakers + sub + acoustic features. If the price is the same and you have the space, I would still go with the bose 900 for my home though because the soundstage is clearer to my ears and I do not need "wake the neighbors" bass. But the JBL 9.1 is a good value when it's on sale.
I recommend sonos if you have a budget..

Hi! Jbl 1300x is way bigger, more expensive by 2x the 700, comes with a sub, 11.1 channel and sounds GREAT. But if you have the bose 700 bass module, its close except for the 11.1 channel sound.

How to setup the connection with Bose 900, firestick 4k max to get acoustic sound on TV with only ARC port?
Hi! Does your TV have optical out? You won't be able to control the bose 900 using your fire or TV remote but it's the most direct solution.
@@TheFrenchGlow will the connection through optical cable result in acoustic sound? What I was thinking was to connect firestick to hdmi port and connect TV and soundbar through arc. Do you think that’ll work?

Hi! If you plugged it into the TV and there's no sound, it's usually an issue with the TV settings not being set to external audio or the TV doesn't recognize the soundbar (TV would have to be older and no earc hdmi port) 'can you check for me?

@raiders559 Great price!! Actually, I misspoke - mine was $499 as well. When they dropped the price $200, the refurbished price went down as well. I remember it being almost half-price, and I couldn't believe it. Plus, Amazon gave me $200 for my 700.
Did you find a problem with the Glass Top reflections from TV? This would be sitting right under my TV. I am worried the reflection is gonig to be an issue.
I carefully cut out some thick black card to place on the glass top
