    they really sound nice, good thing to keep them alive ! Highs are around which frequency?

      i am not sure. they caught sweet spot with bass and highs too

      high shelf is 20khz and low shelf is 20Hz

      @@architeq You're the 2nd person I'e heard say that. Shelving EQs are usually labeled from the point at which the shelf starts to curve up, or at least up by 3dB. I don't get labeling the high and low shelf at 20 Hz and 20K. Can someone explain this curve to me?

      Low 50Hz - High 10K

    Another thing. How noise is your eq? Mine when it's on brings pretty high noise level :/

    • @TheKristijanFunaric
      @TheKristijanFunaric  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      almost non. pretty quiet with small amount of clean white noise

    • @13alan69
      @13alan69 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheKristijanFunaricokay but I just realized that noise we are talking about shows only when input unit is connected to the master output unit... So I don't know what's happenning..

    • @13alan69
      @13alan69 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      After whole day of resoldering, testing etc I have found very usefull information in the manual: 'This filter noise cannot be attenuated by the linear fader. Therefore switch off all filters when not in use.' So there is an eq noise! ;) And like I said, it only shows when you are using whole desk, with master units. There is no extra noise with eq on when I'm using input unit only. Problem solved... Kinda :p

    What are your favorite uses for this EQ?

    • @TheKristijanFunaric
      @TheKristijanFunaric  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mainly for brightening stereo mix, or adding clarity do cymbals and hats

      @@TheKristijanFunaric It really does sound so good! Have you compared this to the typical Pultec or Maag or Clarphonic that seems quite popular for that application?

      @@alvincornistamusic8754 i have compared it to Api eq 550a on Api channel strip, and t oWSW 811 450 eq, and even i really love Api and WSW, Studer 169 eq sounds more musical to me.

      @@thedarkintervalsTotally! I only have the Bart HRK 169 version and I'm not sure how close that is to the real thing though. But this video was enlightening. Thanks!

    Kristijan - write me something about this drum loop. I got the same input module and master module. Still, the sound is not that big like yours.

    • @TheKristijanFunaric
      @TheKristijanFunaric  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      these units are fully recpped and switched to work at 18V, rather than original 15V. 18V gives more headroom, and overall, better sound.

    • @13alan69
      @13alan69 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      kristijan funaric cool! So only main power supply from +15 and -15 to 18?

    • @TheKristijanFunaric
      @TheKristijanFunaric  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes. but it needs to be done by expert. Studer has tolerance to cca 20, or 22 V. So it will not burn at 18, but will work much better

    • @13alan69
      @13alan69 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      kristijan funaric i can do this ;) thank you very much! Ps. About caps. What about voltage of each cap? I know that electrolyts works best when the voltage is minimum. What do you think?
