The thing about the Ocean Dreams Oracle is that it feels more to me like tropical waters during an expensive holiday... less so the kind of ocean I'm used to. (For reference, I'm in the Pacific Northwest, Canada Edition). I think of the ocean as deep and dark and dangerous, as well as life-giving and abundant and beautiful. So the Ocean Dreams Oracle doesn't feel at ALL related to ocean energy for me.
Well said that the ocean dreams oracle feels like a tropical vacation on an expensive holiday. I have this deck as well and also don’t connect with it, despite how much I do love Danielle Noel’s other work. I just wish it felt more balanced with darker imagery, and encompassed other aspects of the ocean such as it’s wild, dark, stormy and more dangerous sides as well. I wish she would come out with another version that had more darker cards to balance out that earthy ocean energy a lot of us resonate with.
I think you nailed it with this point - the expensive holiday ocean! I'm also in the PNW/Canada and have spent my whole life in this area. Super relatable.
I think you finally nailed why the Intuitive Night Goddess didn’t pull me. I felt like I kept looking at the same card since you're right, they're all solo!
With the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot, one of the selling features for me was that it does NOT specify which goddess is featured. For me, I don't like multi-deity decks where there are a lot of deities that I don't have an actual relationship with. I'm very particular with my deity work, as I view them as actual entities (not archetypes). I didn't get the INGT for quite some time because it seemed like another multi-deity deck, which isn't my thing. But, it came in a Witches Moon box for me last year, and the fact that there are no names to the goddesses in the guidebook totally sold me on it! Now, it's more of a feminist or Divine Feminine deck and less of a specific deity thing for me.
Sometimes all you need is a moment to step back and then take a " fresh" look on something. Maybe ask different questions ( ie. Is this a deck for general readings/ multiple types or specific types like self work or personal practice) Then you decide if Both decks can stay because they have different purposes. 💖🦄
The writing on the decks is a good way of reducing cognitive load. Any time you find yourself squinting at writing, like the near-invisible use-by dates of medication/supplements, or the identical containers for detergent and fabric softener, a sharpie (and sometimes, labelmaker) will solve the problem. Less time and brain needed to do repetitive actions = more time and brain to do things you *want* to do. I've been doing this for years, and it's been a life changer.
I love watching how people curate their collection and I am really curious about your purgatory box 🧐 😂. Would you consider doing a video on the decks that you have put in your purgatory box? I’d love to watch that ❤
@@Lisa_Papez it would be great to see how you feel about the decks that you have put in purgatory a while back. If you maybe forgot about some decks, if you missed some decks and put them back in your rotation/collection, if -and after how much time - you actually let some go? I currently don’t cull decks anymore, because in the past I ended up in another buying frenzy afterwards, so now I keep decks at least for two years in purgatory before moving them on…don’t know how well that will work for me since I just started with that last year…forever trying to adjust and hopefully improve my collecting behaviour
I'm so glad you're keeping both the Old Ways Magick Oracle and the Wisdom of the Cailleach Oracle! They're both so beautiful and special. I know you said the point was to get rid of decks, but if you rediscover your love for a deck, I think the point was still achieved.
It makes me so happy that you're keeping the Tarot de Renard and that you've fixed your problem with the abbreviations (K/R = King/Roi and K/C = Knight/Chevalier). I really love this deck and I was so excited when you chose it together with Peggy! The Connected and Free Oracle looks like it would be an awesome match for the Wild Unknown! Gonna take a closer look...
The Threadbound Oracle is sorta like a tarot for people who find tarot overwhelming. It has similar cards and a similar structure to tarot, but much easier to jump into as a beginner. I love it in theory but if I had it, I’d always choose a tarot deck instead so it doesn’t fit that oracle card niche for me.
I never thought I would be interested in a 'colour oracle' deck but the energetics of colour oracle looks like it would pair really well with the moonchild tarot - damn how did that happen?!
I would love a video on how you use Old Ways Magick Oracle (or another deck) in spells/magic And also how you work with different goddesses. I'm working my way through your member videos, so I apologize if you have these and I haven't seen them yet.
I have many times wrote things on cards that screw me up to make the deck valuable to me, again.. it definitely helps.. after you do that, you will not necessarily need that wrote there anymore because after using it with you added changes, you end up memorizing the original card words anyways! But it’s a great piece of information that will help people a lot!
Really enjoyed this video, especially they way you came up with new or different ways to approach decks that were in question. It is good to re-examine how we interact with these tools, sometimes our initial idea isn't the best one.
I wonder if since the Threadbound Oracle seems to have this magical library theme if you could use it alongside tarots that follow a certain story. Threadbound being what “transports” you to the story’s world as if you’re in that magic library! Like your last unicorn deck, or an alice deck. I’m definitely going to look more into that oracle to maybe use in that way!😁
I would keep them all....LOL I'm no help I know...giggles. I loved the last two decks and would definitely use them in conjunction with each other. The color decks that is. 💖
For sure I have decks that I love for their aesthetic beauty but get nothing out of. More decks than not probably fit this category! I have five of Danielle Noel's decks.....I want Ocean Dreams but...... I really want it but. ..
I would like to see Peggy read with the Way of the Panda tarot or the Prism Tarot. I was literally typing to use Connected and Free with your modern decks when you said it. I think you sold me on both Devas decks. This is such a fun series. 😊
Tyfs your decks and explanations. I’m getting your book for myself as a birthday gift next month. I can’t wait 😊 hugs and blessings to you and Peggy ❤ Dawn
I have to agree with your view on the Page of Cups for the Light Seer's deck. I sometimes find myself staring at it being distracted because I forget about the artwork till it comes out in a reading. It's not one of my favorite Page of Cups by any means. In fact it's one of my least liked cards from the deck, and I have tons of favorite cards from Light Seer's.
Love this series so much. It makes me more thoughtful with my own collection. For the intuitive night goddess, it works nicely when used as a tool to communicate with goddess energy in a more broad sense. Depending on if you subscribe to the concept of diety or archetype, of course. As aechetype, it works well that they're not named. Then, you can work with different aspects of the gooddess or with one aspect of the goddesss as an oracle if that makes sense. Thanks for sharing. Blessings 💫💚💫
I prefer the simplicity of the Color Mage Oracle over having photographs on a color deck. A French edition of the Connected in Free Oracle is still available.
Lisa, I loved how you solved a couple issues with 2 of the decks with a fine point sharpie - awesome and simple idea! That might help me tremendously, especially with decks that trip me up and cause me anxiety over something simple. ❤ Loved the rest of the video, too! ❤
Weirdly I actually really love the off-kilter vibe of the Page of Cups in the Light Seers…i totally see it as that person who might be physically on the ground but mentally/spiritually in a different place accessing different kinds of information. Whereas the court card I really can’t stand in that deck is the Knight of Cups because it’s a super important card to me but I don’t identify with the Casanova-y dude on the Light Seers Knight of Cups AT ALL. 😂 Great deck, super readable, but I generally only use it for other people and not for myself for that exact reason.
This is a great perspective, thanks! I think my brain is just a wee bit too literal to fully 'get' the cut-off legs thing LOL - I want to get it more for sure!
I love the energetics of color although I think sometimes the guidebook leaves me scratching my head. So I just used the cards alone, but I really wanted the guidebook to help me with color associations 😂. It’s a good oracle tho. Lots of cards and keywords great images and it goes with pretty much everything.
I've been contemplating the Energetics of Color for a long time now! I don't generally connect with collage art decks, but I agree that having images along with so many cards and colors represented makes this deck extra special. If you sign up for their email newsletter, they do send out discount offer codes from time to time :)
Neither did I and I’m a cancer 😿. I couldnt find a connection w/Ocean Dreams. It’s so beautiful, but I feel the messages fall short and don’t inspire me.
Huh... The Deva decks from Chilla... or Cilla is it? I'm going to have to seriously consider those because those really intrigued me. As always, thanks for sharing.
Excellent fun as always. You gave me an idea. I never use my Ocean Dreams either. I’m going to pair it with my Flow Tarot and see how they work together. Making me think of the Dream versus Reality that Marlene did. 😮
Ahhhh it totally became a fave!! I don't think i ever would have gone for it on my own and sometimes those turn out to be the best picks for me!!! Thank youuuuu 🤩🤩
I absolutely agree about the Light Seer's Page of Cups. I *heavily* dislike the overall depiction of that card (for me I think it's his expression and hair -- makes me think of the In Betweeners) which is such a shame because so much about the deck is otherwise a home run.

I am 40 and still feel like the Light Seer’s Tarot images still seem to match my image and energy.. personal opinion. I think because some older person once out that idea out there, that many people seem to think that it seems too young but look at all the mange and anime style art work decks that nobody says that about. Just like one of those things where it’s been said by someone older and spread that idea to where it’s been I printed in people mind and once they see it they can’t I see it!
Usually I either rehome the deck with the bag or I put one of my decks that is currently waiting for a bag in it - but only if it's a good match. LOL Sometimes it becomes a lil' musical chairs situation where I rotate a few to make sure I'm still happy with what is matched with what bag LOL. I'm ridiculous.
@@Lisa_Papez no, not ridiculous at all. You put so much heart and thought into it, and I'm sure the love Peggy puts into the bags makes it hard to consider rehoming them. 💜🫂
As a fellow watery Cancer, I'm underwhelmed by Ocean Dreams, too...😬 And also didn't bond with Intuitive Night Goddess until I started using it for a monthly divine-feminine reading, where it now fits perfectly; I like pairing it with the Lioness, too, for larger cosmic energy, but where the goddess figures still give a sense of how to embody those energies on earth. Ah, and I will always love Lightseer's, no matter how old I am or how over it others are...pairs SO beautifully with Connected & Free. I liked Threadbound as well but ultimately gifted it to a friend due to lack of use, and hell yeah to the Panda staying in the game! (That's my animal, so I'm biased. 🐼) I always enjoy this series, Lisa, so thanks for keepin' it going! 😊
Relieved you are keeping the tarot renard, I'm going to great lengths to get a copy of this as she doesn't ship to the UK. Its so beautiful, if you love decks just keep them. Agree with tarot student, would love to see a video of your purgatory drawer 😀
Ocean dreams is very Aquarian, that ocean in the heavens type vibe. It doesn't resemble the oceans I have been in so I can see why it would feel a bit remote and unattainable.
I just got The Herbal Astrology deck and was a little confused as well but the guidebook does help a lot. The astrology connection is the herbs are grouped by planet, if you peep the index you’ll see what I mean 🪐💕 Either way I hope you land on a decision you’re happy with 🥰

This! I grew up on the East Coast/US, and "my" ocean is the Atlantic. The Oceanum Arcanae tarot feels like the ocean I relate to.

Intuitive Night Goddess puts me in such an odd spot.. I'm so, so drawn to it, but it does feel disconnected
I think I would make a this or that round between the light seer’s tarot and the this might hurt tarot as I feel they hit the same vibe
Ohhh these feel so different to me!
Just use your sharpie on the color mage oracle.
I might just have to do that!! With all the sharpie action in this vid, I'm surprised that didn't occur to me LOL Thanks!
I absolutely agree about the Light Seer's Page of Cups. I *heavily* dislike the overall depiction of that card (for me I think it's his expression and hair -- makes me think of the In Betweeners) which is such a shame because so much about the deck is otherwise a home run.

This was so fun and interesting to watch. Many of these decks seem to be a mashup of other decks put together, in my opinion. 😊 Your table cover is rockin' it! Love it!❤❤ Edit: I wanted to add that the guidebook for Herbal Astrology is really good. It tells how the herb was used historically in different cultures. I love that deck, but I am not really an animal deck person, either. 😅😅
Ocean Dreams feels a bit airy and spacey with a lot of white and soft coloring… very opposite of how I experience the ocean which has deeper saturated tones giving a grounding feel. I like the Flow Tarot but wish it came in an illustrated version versus photographic… still considering it.😂
Agree the Intuitive Night Goddess feelings lonely… and with that, for me, a bit stagnant. It feels stiff and lacks movement in the imagery. 😢
I’d really love to see a side by side comparison of the decks against each other simultaneously… especially for the Tarot decks going against each other.
Ohhhh like open and flip through them side by side? I should do that! Thanks for the idea, I'll try to remember to do that next time!!
Love your tarot❣️
Does anyone know if the Connected and Free oracle will be available again? I think I saw a French version, but I don't speak French.. 😮💨
I ❤ this series and got super excited to see it in my feed! Can’t wait to watch. I’m on pins and needles already. Lol.

My wife makes all my reading cloths and bags! :) Her Etsy shop is at sparxcreations.etsy.com 😍😍
Curios what you did with the mass market Dark Goddess tarot? I have the indi deck and would love to have the mass market guidebook, but like you I want to keep the indi deck.

Hee yeah!!! The Pandas were definitely safe!!!
Relieved you are keeping the tarot renard, I'm going to great lengths to get a copy of this as she doesn't ship to the UK. Its so beautiful, if you love decks just keep them. Agree with tarot student, would love to see a video of your purgatory drawer 😀
The creation of Diva seems like a good astrology deck. Either to pull cards with the change of the planets or to align to certain charts.
Ocean dreams is very Aquarian, that ocean in the heavens type vibe. It doesn't resemble the oceans I have been in so I can see why it would feel a bit remote and unattainable.
Yessssss very Aquarian indeed!
I just got The Herbal Astrology deck and was a little confused as well but the guidebook does help a lot. The astrology connection is the herbs are grouped by planet, if you peep the index you’ll see what I mean 🪐💕 Either way I hope you land on a decision you’re happy with 🥰
