I think they should have designed the 10 of swords where the teddy bear was cut and stuffing fell out but another bear is there with a thread and needle. Nine swords and one needle to show hope on the horizon
I feel like you have a healthy and helpful rasponse and responsibility to reassessing your collection in potential of a clearout. And it was interesting to watch.
Lisa, thank you so much for making these videos. You make me feel so much better when I don’t jive with a deck that I have asked for or purchased. I feel so guilty when it doesn’t work out and listening to you makes me feel like I’m not alone in my oopps choices of decks. Thank you, I love your videos so very much.
I totally feel you with the 10 of swords in the Teddy Bear Tarot. It really breaks my heart too. I wish the author could have had an alternative card or better yet replace it completely with another one that actually matches the rest of the deck
Very entertaining and enjoyable. Yes, more please. I love listening to your thought process; you are very practical and wise when it comes to your deck selection, keeping or decluttering so there's always a valuable take-away. Thanks for doing this!
This is a really interesting video, I don’t have most of these but I do have Tarot of the Crone & absolutely love it, its one of those decks (for me anyway) that I call on rarely because it has such a powerful & specific energy, I’m not quite in my Crone years but nearer than I would like to admit 😂 & I feel its part of my library its one that will keep & be useful over the years ahead so I don’t mind that I don’t use it that often now, maybe one or twice a year at most currently. Maybe I’m a bit weird in my thinking but to me my decks are like my books, they are library for my life, some/a lot of the books & decks are touchstones for previous times in my life & provide comfort & grounding others are future essentials that I find comfort in having now & getting to know as well as putting my energy into, all of them are a part of me,assuming I can handle the space it takes up of course 😂.
I really like these kind of video's where you explain your thought processes! Can't wait for the next 'This or that' though, if only to see how it goes for the ones you decided in this video ☺
You can still get the OOP book Barbara Walker wrote about her deck (and tarot in general) and its great. Might enrich your perpective on her deck. When I bought the book, I couldn't put it down and read it cover-to-cover in a few days. But I'm biased -- I love BW tarot.
How funny, I just got the little wee sovereign oracle and I’m loving using it as a spread machine. And I have the same feels about the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot & the Rain Shadow. The first I have and the latter just didn’t click. Love hangin with ya!
I have the Fablemaker's Animated Tarot too and I know exactly what you mean. I think it's cool and unique but I never use it, it just sits on the shelf, so I'm undecided whether to move it on or not.
As always, it's so wonderful to watch your process with your decks. When I backed the Faceted Garden I had hoped it was the same size as the Illuminated Earth Oracle because I was hoping to combine them. Unfortunately they were not.
I adore the teddy bear tarot! I don't mind the 10 of Wands. For me, sometimes childhood trauma (doing shadow work) means possibly facing some pretty scary things. I'm gutted they are out of stock... hoping they will get more in. Otherwise, I'll be on the lookout for someone wanting to part with theirs.
I can so relate to much of what you're saying in this video! Several of the decks you're unsure about I have and am unsure of, too. I have to tell you I was sooooooo excited about Rain Shadow Tarow specifically because i adore Iluminated Earth and Faceted Garden. I was so excited to have a tarot to pair with those decks, but when I opened up the tarot, I immediately knew, nope not gonna work and have since traded it. Why is it that we can absolutely love one deck by a creator, but then another one doesn't vibe at all? Tarot of Mystical moments is another example of this. I absolutely LOVE ToMM, but the oracle nope not at all. So weird..... Anyway, this was a great video, really enjoyed seeing your process. PS for what it's worth, hold onto the Tarot the Crone...... I think you'd regret rehoming it, it's so hard to replace.
So funny story about the Tarot of the Crone - I picked up the Playbook from Ellen Lorenzi Prince's website and am excited all over again about it! :) I'm with you on the Mystical Moments decks - love the Tarot, never got on with the Oracle! ;)
I appreciate this style of vid so much.. you have given me some good ideas about sorting out my own collection which has kind of taken over my home! I would like to know in more detail the processes by whichhow you decide on suitable ‘pairings’.. Thankyou!
Ooh, Runic Odyssey looks lovely, might have to try and find a copy. Not sure why they didn't call it Runic SAGA... seems like a missed opportunity. Runic Saga, copyright Jack-a-Lopium productions 2023 (product coming 2094).
O man Tarot of the Crone. I really wish i could find a replacement for mine. I used it so much for some personal work. I had a card on my alter.....and it fell down. NO FAULT of my fur baby, but she chewed up the card. I have looked and looked but the ones I have found ha e been way out of my price range. I have been so mad at myself for the loss of the card.
Pairing collage with a cards less busy, might let you be able to focus better. All the busy cards are competing for my attention. Or maybe card with a specific elemental based cards.
I loved this Lisa, thank you! Hearing your thought process was fascinating. I was particularly interested in Wisdom of the Shadow and Eart, Air and Shadow as I’ve been considering them both lately. As always, thanks for all you do x
This was good! If I can't shuffle a deck, out it goes! Intuitive Night looked too much like other decks, and I haven't purchased the new Claire Mack deck as I love Illuminated Earth, too, and I'm afraid it will look too much like the oracle, plus, I'm very traditional with my tarot decks and I think it will be hard to read. 😁
Thank you for sharing the teddy bear tarot. I couldn’t remember why I didn’t get it when I love teddys. Then you showed the 10 of swords and yeah that’s a no for me. If it were a dark deck it be fine but the inner child in me hates that card so much. It’s too dark for such a sweet deck. In the end I think that’s why I backed the Winnie the Pooh one. I knew the creators would be respectful with the characters.
I really enjoyed this, Lisa! It’s nice to see kind of a “stream of consciousness” assessment in real time. And you’re not alone with sometimes getting something in and immediately not vibing with it. It is really devastating. But it goes to show that no matter how many videos or pictures you look at, you’re never truly going to know how something works for you until it’s in your hands, and that is a real risk. One I still take all the time all the same haha! Also thanks for showing that animated deck, I have been really considering getting it (if I haven’t bitten the bullet by Xmas I’ll probably ask my husband for it) but oof that lenticular sound makes me teeth itchy 😂 so I’m not sure how I feel about that! I knew they were lenticular to get the animation but I assumed this whole time they were maybe coated to reduce that plasticine sonic nightmare. So I’ll ruminate on whether or not I’d even use them. Much love!
I know what you mean about tarot decks from the creator of a favourite oracle - I feel the same about the Urban Crow Oracle (one of my all-time favourites) and M J Cullinane's tarot decks, none of which have landed for me. Having experienced that, I was not at all tempted by the Rainshadow Tarot, even though I love both of Claire Mack's oracles. I don't know what it is, but I think that what makes these creators great at oracles just doesn't mesh with the way I read tarot.
Victorian Romantic Tarot- I have been trying to get this deck for a long time but it has been so out of my reach. If you are getting rid of this one please let me know. I live in Ontario, Canada. Thanks Donna xo... BTW I love your channel.
A fascinating video BTS of your process! With Nirvana, it reminds me of The Fountain Tarot for some reason. I think you said Fountain Tarot several times and meant Spacious Tarot? Also, the Fantastical Creatures tarot -- I trimmed mine because those borders are so distracting. Now I love it, but it cut the deck down much smaller, making it harder to shuffle (for me).
I really enjoyed going through that process with you 🤗I’m also going through my shelves right now de cluttering so I think something is in the air it must be virgo season 😆 thank you for sharing! Bisous 😘
If ur looking for another pair the enchanted map pairs like a dream with mystical moments too. 😊 Im in that same boat with my feel your chakras. I preordered the midnight edition but I’m still holding out hope that she releases an expansion for the original feel ur chakras. I love the feel and little bag of my original 😭.
I love this kind of content! For me it’s similar to an antihaul and helps to cool the deck buying flames. Also my guess about why you don’t like the Faceted Garden is because it has a lot of cards that have titles instead of keywords. Not all of them do, but many of them are just like Wreath instead of a keyword. Just a guess, though 😉
I'm the same way as you are with your Ellis deck but with my sakki sakki. I love it but I never use it to read with since I first got it in 2017...but it's a really neat work of art. I was going to sell it but I decided to hang on to it. 😅
What deck are you going to use for your Arthurian study? I'm saving my pennies to buy a deck for this and was going for the Complete Arthurian tarot by Caitlin and John Matthews. Just wondering of alternatives.
The Complete Arthurian Tarot is definitely the one for me. I once owned Legend: The Arthurian Tarot but could not bond with it no matter how hard I tried.
It's called the Wandering Teddy Bear Tarot and was sold at Tevada but appears to be totally out of print now! Dangit. LOL It's sooooo cute other than that dang 10/Sw... maybe I need to spend a little more time with it.
@Lisa_Papez It's so cute! I get it, though. That 10 of swords is intense, especially compared to the rest of the deck....but I kinda liked that. Oop? Shoot! No wonder I was struggling to find it. Thanks for getting back to me!
Enjoyed watching this. I was thinking Modern Nirvana Oracle with Fountain Tarot too. With the Victorian Romantic tarot, I wonder if it’s more of a “trophy” deck by how you describe just wanting to see it rather than a “prized” deck. Would be cool to see a video on people’s “trophy” decks vs “prized” decks. The Teddy Tarot looks so cute! I might look into that one. I didn’t see a link to the Teddy Tarot and I would like to purchase it from a reputable seller.
Nothing wrong with archiving decks, lol. If Kim. k can do it for every outfit she’s worn, we can do decks right? Lol. That’s my justification for hoarding.
I found it very interesting to see the thought process behind your choices. I must say, for deck pairings, I'm not surprised that the collage oracle isn't quite the hit with the collage tarots, and also not surprised that the rain shadow didn't turn out the dream pairing tarot deck for illuminated earth. It's just too samey imho, and instead of rising each other they are dimming each other's glam.
Shouldn’t it be a Deckoning 😂
Yessssssss 🤣🤣
I think they should have designed the 10 of swords where the teddy bear was cut and stuffing fell out but another bear is there with a thread and needle. Nine swords and one needle to show hope on the horizon
Totally agree! At minimum, stuffing rather than blood would have been more cohesive.
It is really helpful to hear you "think out loud" about how you go about hashing out your collection.
I feel like you have a healthy and helpful rasponse and responsibility to reassessing your collection in potential of a clearout. And it was interesting to watch.

I laughed when you compared your deck with getting picked for a team in gym class 😂
Very entertaining and enjoyable. Yes, more please. I love listening to your thought process; you are very practical and wise when it comes to your deck selection, keeping or decluttering so there's always a valuable take-away. Thanks for doing this!
I need to do this too. I know it’s not always easy.

The teddy bear deck had me laughing so hard. Sorry, but that artist had a sense of humor. Also i really liked this style of video. Thank you!!

there is also a very affordable kindle version of that book available, in case you can't find a hard copy for a reasonable price.
Loved this video!
Just can't stop staring at your nail polish... mooncat I'm assuming? It's so pretty!
Yay the Reckoning Bin! ✨
had fun with you, always do! Thanks for sharing your culling process!
The oracle of oddities megadeck pairs really with the tarot of mystical moments ❤️
Hi Lisa, I really enjoyed this and would love to see more of these on your channel. Take Care. Teri from Australia 🦘 🇦🇺 💜

I would love to see a video of your current workhorse decks
I have the Fablemaker's Animated Tarot too and I know exactly what you mean. I think it's cool and unique but I never use it, it just sits on the shelf, so I'm undecided whether to move it on or not.
I like content that goes into a pwrson's processes. It helps me figure out my own and ways I can tweak things.
The Fairy Tale Tarot by Lisa Hunt is being republished by USgames :)
Loved watching this process
I understand the difference between deck storage and purgatory. :)
As always, it's so wonderful to watch your process with your decks. When I backed the Faceted Garden I had hoped it was the same size as the Illuminated Earth Oracle because I was hoping to combine them. Unfortunately they were not.
“The way some of you will gasp.” *proceeds to take longest drink ever*
Ma’am. 😅
I find Sacred Creators goes with everything! Even Terra Volitile (i know you dont have it though)..those colors seems to pair well with alot of decks.
I agree. Sacred Creators is the most versatile oracle deck I have bar none. (OK, MAYBE Citadel competes in that but I've had SC much longer)
I adore the teddy bear tarot! I don't mind the 10 of Wands. For me, sometimes childhood trauma (doing shadow work) means possibly facing some pretty scary things. Loved this video and please do more! It’s definitely not redundant. 😀🤗
Totally random but did you know there is a RWS musical episode of Xena??? Bitter Suite
wait... nooo! I watched it years ago - so now I'll have to look it up LOL
@@Lisa_PapezBuffy totally copied the idea of having a musical episode! Why is there no Xena deck 😭😭 😭
