Excelent aproach...........wow good planning.....and keep your eyes open.....and green everywhere.......nice landing......................coffe time......
Great video. This is one of my favorite flight videos because of the way you guided us through everything as you talked yourself through the flight. Thank you for this, and everything you do.
Another outstanding flight, good to see you in the Oxsapmin , Telefomin and the head of the mighty Sepik River area. Brings back memories, clouds on top, valleys open. Thanks Ryan for the ride and another top video.
Hi, I love your channel. I'm from Australia and we are still very involved with the well being of Papua New Guinea since their independence in 1975. I was a young man in 1981 in the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) learning to be an aircraft mechanic, and we also had Papua New Guineans doing the same. Paps we'd call them. Man they were fierce guys, ready to belt you if you said anything bad, but also they were the most loyal and awesome friends...they would be ready to belt anyone who said or did bad against you.....these guys were as tough as any you could ever meet....also they were as wonderful as any you could ever meet. I never got to see any of them ever again after training. Anyhow, as I watch your channel I am thinking that maybe you have met some of them......I am sure that after their air force careers a few may have ended up in civil aviation and maybe filled your tank or fixed a snag or helped out otherwise. Cheers
Just more magnificent PNG countryside, Ryan. Thanks so much. Not trying to take anything away from technology, glass cockpits, etc, but it makes you wonder at the flyers in the '50s who did it all in Cessna 170s and 180s (Catholic mission out of Wewak) and Norsemans (Norsemen?) and Ju-52s (Gibbes Sepik Airways) with nothing but local knowledge, steam gauges and the odd NDB.
Wow i love this channel! It just blows me away at all of the things a pilot has to learn in order to fly! I thought being a doctor was hard! lol great video!
Stunning views and some wild landing locations. I love the thoroughness of your checklist process, a must for a single pilot flying where you are. Well done, sir!
I recommend You as a Pilot for the Space X Hotel project. I drive Roadtrains across Australia and check list is GOD but I got nothing on this guy. AWESOME as usual.
Always entertaining when you fly to 'your tree' before you make your turn while a complete forest is surrounding you. Still looking for the 'MINE, signed Ryan' sign :) :)
Just wondering if this airport is avaible to fs2020? :) I can only find one airport at Papua New Guinea. Just bought the Kodiak 100 plane, what a lovely plane:)
Ryan.. Your videos are awesome. You have the Best career! Your abort emergency procedures are great to hear each time you fly. It would be interesting to see NTZ do a go around simulating an emergency. I am a pilot too and really envy your lifestyle!
@@MissionaryBushPilot I'm not sure if you have covered it in other vlogs, but it would be great to know your flying experience and training and what led you to becoming a missionary bush pilot! I am a nurse but my brother is a pilot, I find it all fascinating and inspiring! Keep up the great work you do
really good vid Ryan that approach was awesome and the scenery outstanding ,like you have said before when the weathers good there is nothing to beat being a pilot stay safe and keep producing these fantastic vidioes
That was very cool. The hill on final was very close and I can fully understand how a windy approach would change everything. Even with a Vref of 67 the terrain was going by very quickly. Nice job, Thanks.
My knuckles are white just watching! Crikey you fly close to trees & terrain! Would like to see what you do after you land, the natives, support crew, etc.
Turbines make 10 million rpm and 4 torques - there's always a gearbox in front of it, and that gearbox is always the first thing to fail if there's going to be a problem.
Because safety above anything else, particularly on these kind of locations, those mixtures bettween VFR and IFR rules should probably be clarified. Anyway, Cpt. Ryan is always in control of all aspects of the flight, speccially on take-offs and landings at these dangerous runways. Always have a safe flight !
Indeed, it’s the same land mass but I wasn’t aware that crossing that time zone, lookin on Google earth, that seems to represent the two territories as well.
Anytime you want to post some drone adventures, would love to see PNG footage. Only about 3 years left for drones in USA before crazy regulations kick in. Anyway.....would love to see some drone adventures. Take care. Steve. Minnesota
Am I the only one who watches the takeoff/climbout, then fast forward's to the approach/landing? Incredible videos, but I'm just a dumb Airbus maintenance inspector. I'm lost during the conversations at cruise! : )
Yeah I usually don't have much time in the ground during the day to have fun, but I agree, adding the drone shots give a little more spacial orientation
Ryan, are you sure about the engine staying the same when you increase the pitch on the prop? I fly a Piper Arrow III which has a variable pitch propeller and when we increase pitch, typically for cruise, the RPM lowers too. So for instance, we could want to bring the prop back to reflect 24 inches of manifold pressure and the engine back to 2400 RPM which we refer to as 24 square. This makes a good cruise setting with fuel flow lower and therefore more economical. I understand it is also considered poor practice to fly with the manifold pressure lower than the RPM figure. So from this, it can be seen that when changing the pitch on the propeller, the RPM changes as well.
one word you are amazing bush pilots
Know nothing about flying, found your channel, now binge watching. This is brilliant, thanks.
Welcome aboard!
WOW! Watching this make me realize that my skills are inadequate for anything close to this. GREAT JOB!!!
Excelent aproach...........wow good planning.....and keep your eyes open.....and green everywhere.......nice landing......................coffe time......
You make something so routinely interesting and exiting. Thx for sharing.
It is very route for me, but I still enjoy it every day, thx for watching
Great video. This is one of my favorite flight videos because of the way you guided us through everything as you talked yourself through the flight. Thank you for this, and everything you do.
Yeah, great approach there - thanks for letting me in on it! Travel safe!
You bet!
Wild hearing him say, "pitch for airspeed, throttle for altitude." One of the most counterintuitive things I ever had to internalize.
Outstanding ! Those hills on the left on final were unnerving, even here in my easy chair !
I don't even notice them. Just keep your eyes fixed on your touch down zone and they disappear 😉
Clear the leaves and twigs off the wingtips as part of the shutdown checks.
And definitely pick them out of the landing gear...
Turn at the "tree" always cracks me up. Thank you for your videos. They always make my day.
Glad you like them!
Yep, clear as mud!
One of the more exciting approaches I've ever seen.
You obviously havent seen much...
Thank you for your service. Be safe sir.
You gotta like the Kodiak. Such a dependable and forgiving machine. I'm pretty sure you have the best job in the world.
I'm pretty sure I do too 😁

That approach was exciting. Well done!
Wow a most demanding and exciting flight. The landing was fantastic work.
You work for good people, and for the best big boss.. thanks to all of you!
I’ll be asking my students to watch these. Great stuff.👌
Unreal! Probably the best video of this type I have ever seen.
Thanks!
Hey Ryan, at 18:22 you called all stations November Tango Echo, but you were flying November Tango Kilo🤔
a exciting place to land... a beautiful country ...papua should employ you as a ambassador for there country ..thanks mr pilot
Thanks for the IFR, VFR, special VFR description. Very interesting.
Glad it was helpful!
This has to be the most informative series of flying videos I’ve ever viewed, Thank You for sharing your work!
Noticed you said November,Tango,Echo at one stage...it's a blooper. Hehe

Wow .. you make it look very easy !!
Thank you! Cheers!
You were more calm than I was watching, and I am not even in the plane. That seemed like quite a challenging place to land based on the visuals.
It's gets easier as time goes on. The trick is to stay calm no matter what is going on in the cockpit so your passengers always feel safe 😋😁
love your consistent pre flights... especially your "bail out" procedures !
Wow....Awesome. Great Landing!
Thanks

After you fly here for a while, you could navigate pretty easy with just a map....unless it was bad weather, then every mountain looks the same.
Awesome Ryan- gets heart pumping !

It's a great plane
That is a lot of detail to keep straight in flying!
Videos getting better every time still. The best cv’s if ever looking for a job later. Thanks for sharing.

I love your videos!
Another beautiful flight. It just gets better I always enjoy my ride alongs with you, Ryan. Thanks for sharing as always.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for explaining about the engine rpm, torque and prop, there are different types of variable pitch setups.
I'm a future pilot can't believe this so short bush landing didn't know about it! Congrats! Very cool! and well reported!
Always amazes me especially in weather how you navigate to the runway!
amazing (and scary) approach. hats off. this is real piloting.
Wow. Thank you for doing these videos.
Thanks for the Good Flight

Enjoyed that one; lots of greenery on the approach
