@@Bertil_Lundin Hi just watched this one too ,they are all very good you seem to have been visiting there for years we are thinking of retirement over there but quite a few years to go yet This is our first time to Khao Lak but not Thailand , been to Ko Samui/ Bangkok 3 times but wanted to try some different parts and only staying 5 days before moving on to Phuket then Bangkok( wish we were staying longer here now ) so trying to cram in as much as we can got a meal / cooking class booked at Pam’s also a cooking class at Nings to see different techniques we are going to be staying at Apsara is there a local 7 Eleven near there walking distance do you know and also heard there is a really big one but not sure if it’s in Bang Niang or Khao Lak do you know so we can pick up some supplies Mozzie creams etc Thanks
We stayed at Andamania first time in Khao Lak and at Apsara the second time. Both are great resorts but a bit off from everything else. You need to grab a taxi more or less every time you want to go somewhere. Memories Bar and a few small restaurants at the Tsunami tower at the crossroads near Pakarang Cape were the only places within walking distance. That's why we moved to Laguna with walking distance to Khao lak center and later to Ayara with walking distance to Bang Niang. We were at Apsara in 2015 so it's almost 10 years ago. At that time there was a small mini market within walking distance north close to the Tsunami tower at the crossroads near Pakarang Cape. To get to a bigger mini market or 7 eleven you need to go out to the main road. And that is not walking distance. During the transfer from the airport to Apsara you will see a lot of mini markets along the main road through Khao Lak center, Bang Niang and further north towards Apsara. Look out for the restaurants and mini market near the Tsunami tower at the crossroads near Pakarang Cape when you're on the local road towards Apsara. At the the Tsunami tower you make a sharp left turn and go south along the sea towards Apsara. Glad to see you're going to Pam's. Pam's is a long time favourite and I think we've been there almost every time we've been in Khao Lak. Haven't been to Ning but I'm following her TH-cam channel. // Bertil.
