The Exercise app is just not enough to use to get into better shape. I show you how I use a combination of apps to get that optimal workout. To ensure you are doing each and every exercise for the proper amount of time. Form and feeling the muscle is the most critical aspect of weight training. Second is Time Under Tension (TUT). I show you how to use your Apple Watch to do the thinking for you for Time Under Tension so you can focus on the most critical part of the workout which is form and the mind muscle connection of feeling and flexing the muscle during workouts. Strength Training can be added by selecting other then selecting traditional strength training. Don’t know why apple added the word traditional in front of it because the workouts are listed in alphabetical order and who would think of traditional....

    So, just so I’m sure of what you’re saying, time over tension?

  • @royalexander5437
    @royalexander5437 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you are training for explosion, you focus on speed so you can work your fast twitch muscles. When you are training for hypertrophy, you focus on time under tension.

    I’ve gone back to this training method using the Apple Watch. With the latest updates it’s easier now to look at key metrics in past workouts. I just do not time my working sets now. I only use the stop watch to count rests between sets while the workout app works in the background. It would be great if apple added a button to press at the completion of each set.

    • @Alex-oy6wb
      @Alex-oy6wb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, you don’t do 42 second timer to make you aware of time under tension?

    • @PeterSzpakowski
      @PeterSzpakowski  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Alex-oy6wb No, it only allowed one set time and not interval. Plus it could either take me 1 - 6 seconds to start my set. So was just too many timers going off :)

      Yup - would be great if they added the ability to select the specific exercises and count reps and time automatically - but I guess we can’t expect that level of customisation under every workout type.
