These sorts of things are great. I imagine that centuries ago, the harvest festival was one of the biggest events on the calendar. Probably much feasting and drinking involved, and celebration at the sight of all the food they'd have for the winter. Of course it's great for the kids as well, to be able to see where their food comes from and hopefully get inspired by gardening.

I enjoyed that very much! Nice see new faces and Plot faces. Congratulations Flo it was great to see you. My pumpkin plants died right away this year. Some of my soil had issues. Here in the states I've never seen an allotment. However, we had our camper at a campground. On Halloween they had trick or treat for the kids then later treat or drink for the adults. We handed out candy bars.
Great Little Community event, we have a bbq in summer it was our first time attending as we took on our plot this spring. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves.
Congratulations Flo on your winning pumpkin 🎃 looks like it was a very fun time, would have loved to have been there, I think doing events like that are special and a great way to make new friends and connect with other allotment holders 😊 hopefully you will have another festival next year. Wow huge pumpkins! What a super community you have. Ours does a regular coffee morning each month, but we don’t do any themed events. That said I think we should do after watching this.

What a lovely celebration event! I don’t think our allotment has an event like this. We did get together recently for a boundary line tidy up and a spot of tea and cake which was a lovely opportunity to meet members of our community. Love the idea of the Christmas wreath making and mulled wine 🍷
