"The Green Man" was written by Bill O'Brien (Birmingham UK) as he watched the change of the seasons in his garden. Bill played the song after Ash played at the Rea River Roots Folk Club at The Tower of Song in Birmingham UK, and gave him permission to perform and record it.
The Green man is a sculptural and pictorial motiff ...[f]ound in many cultures from many ages around the world, the Green Man is often related to natural vegetative deities. It is primarily interpreted as a symbol of rebirth, representing the cycle of growth each spring." (en.wikipedia.o...)

Beautiful ❤️
If only I could find the lyricss for this tune...most I can discern, but many I cannot. Such a sweet and lovely tune, I'd love to sing it right.
still my favourite ash ☺️
Bill O'Brien, who wrote this song, is my Brother, A Lovely Man he is..........
One of my favourites !
Fantastic song :)
amazing
Love the song and it's a gorgeous arrangement, beautifully played. (The captions are a bit messy IMO, with inconsistent duration. I was trying to spot the cellist's name) /|\
The Cellist is Gerry Barnett :) (One day I'll have a computer with a big memory (but maybe not :) ) and I wont have to settle for compromises when the file size gets to a size that challenges the CPU - sorry the caption issues were distracting for you. Glad you enjoyed the arrangement, the performance and the song itself :)
@@ashmandrake3465 thanks for your reply Mr M, very much appreciated. I hope you know that I wasn't being snarky. I think we may have a few mutual friends, and I truly love and respect your work :)
