I've got to say the spartan has to be one of the worst rtr boats available in the hobby... The design flaws, proprietary hardware and molding faults are unforgivable imo although it's always cool seeing what people do to them to make them run well. Traxxas should stick to building cars as they haven't got a clue about boats... Thanks for the upload mate and looking forward to seeing it all upgraded
Unfortunately shes toast after only one run, went full throttle by itself and up the bank at 80kph, will make for an interesting video tomorrow when its uploaded
They also come with different thumb "nuts" for the hull so you don't need a tool. Have you tried your wire drive system in it yet? I found its rather hard to connect to the motor, they didn't align the motor mount very well... guess they really didn't need to with a wire drive so why spend money changing the motor mount the little it needs to be a straight line. I haven't run the wire drive much, so not sure how well it will hold up long term with a slight "bend" it needs at the end (so it must be pressing against the top of the stuffing tube rather well). Look forward to another video of you putting all your parts on it, and your comments about the process!
Good tip about those hatch locks thanks. Unfortunately the boat destroyed itself on its first time out today when it got stuck on full throttle for no reason, you can probably imagine the state its in now :-(
@@RCBoatBitz oh no... another very bad thing is its not really 6s ready. the wiers from the motor to esc can't handle FT for long at all! I'm switching out to HW/Leapard combo before that happens and going to use the motor in a smaller boat 4s.
@@RCBoatBitz I can run the. On 8s. Doesn't mean I should lol. Point is. They really aren't made for 6s out of the box. Sure they can do it. But even the manual says not to hold FT for more than a few seconds. To me, if it's 6s. I should be able to run FT on recommend batteries until the run out.
Best to get a hull and just build it with rc boat bitz parts. Sonic wake has very few stock parts left in it. Great boat with the upgrades .
So true, not everybody has the confidence to build something on their own, how things have changed over the years hey!
Did you notice the flex cable is exposed between the transom and the stinger?
Not really, ill be pulling it apart anyway
