I'm in the same exact situation, my 65" C2 has 4.40.93 but wants me to update to 13.30.50 I don't want to lose features though but I can't find the dimming option he mentioned anyway though.
@@TheGibsOfTheTube you need a special service remote to access the service menu and turn off the dimming if you use the TV as a Mac/PC monitor or for Gaming in PS5/Xbox
@RustyDig oh ok. I do use it for watching TV but also with Playstation 5. I'm assuming there is no reason not to update it then if this is my use case? I just didn't want to lose some sort of features.

This is the latest UI version of Web OS 23 that C3/G3 or any other 2023 LG TV got. Also, I prefer this UI way more than WebOS 22. And I am glad that LG went for this new approach with 4yrs WebOS Upgrade‚ this way‚ most of the new software features that aren't limited to certain hardware capabilities will come to old models. Also Music Discovery is like Shazam. I am not sure if in US people can do that‚ but in EU‚ on WebOS 23 we can disable Content Recommendations and Ads from Home Screen. I've tested Nvidia GeForce Now‚ and it worked pretty good. Though I prefer to play on local hardware. And another thing that I love with WebOS 23 is that when we are in the Home Screen and press the Return (back) button‚ it opens a recent list so we can close them or switch easier between apps.
Not planning to update my C2, ever. Latest trend in tech seems to be updates destroying functionalities, bloating the UX and removing user control over the hardware. Learned this the hard way over the last few years. Not anymore. Already blocked the update URLs on my router.
I feel like this update on my C2 removed 2 "niche" options, HDMI Deep Colour and HDMI-CEC. I cannot find them where they used to be. And Game Optimizer is broken too.
There are lots of things that dont work. I go to Home Office and nothing works like all internet Service icons such as Gmail calendar, gmail, google drive etc. On the home screen the web browser app does not work. I need help getting these things to work. I have the LG C2. 65".
The only problem I've encountered with my C2 is the new settings menu on the left side. There's a bunch of junk that I never use like music discovery, eye care mode, etc. Anyone find a way to get them off the screen totally? I want like 4 or 5 settings not a whole plethora of them. Yea I'm reading the asterisks rn on the TVs update menu , it says "Google Assistant is shutting down but you can use the Voice Recognition service provided by LG TV at any time" ... I suppose I'll wait to update for now, see if any of the other issues get ironed out.. specifically dimming, game mode features and eArc problems
This update changed it on the c2 / cs in ZA. Biggest issue I have run into now is the voice input ONLY on the internet browser and no virtual keyboard. Does not work
I have the same issue, but I figured out an annoying solution. For whatever reason, everytime I turn off or on the TV Wifi and then follow up with turning off the TV ( wait 5 minutes or so for the TV to power down completely ) After I turn it back on it works again. Tedious but necessary if you adjust brightness differently for certain shows/games.
This update has screwed my TV up! It's blotchy, over saturated and looks like SD with blocks, banding & smudging through HDMI. It's like Deep Colour isn't activating. Colour balance has gone skew too. Lost it's vibrance and punchiness. Everything looks flat. Black levels are pixelated and almost grey. I cannot resolve it, it automatically installed two nights ago. My settings won't reset either, they're remaining after trying. Even Vision is having issues, the sharpness around edges is slightly bleeding through!
Quick update - so it turns out APS has been overriding. Even though energy saving is off and my mode is set to Bright Room, the image was almost pitch black on night scenes when watching something. I noticed on Sky News that the image was abysmal and toggled through modes, low and behold it came back bright again with the paused image. It was like there was a filter over the image and I realised that TV was probably reducing the power. So the colour is back popping and looking bright. However I've noticed that there is blurred smudging with some images. Also noticed that scrolling writing has had issues with artifacts. Rewinding and replaying fails to repeat this so it's not the source or signal. This update is no longer up on LGs website for my TV and it shows the previous firmware. When I try to find it, nothing comes up anymore, so they clearly know there's an issue. Also in sound output settings for HDMI I now have options for Display Port, USB C etc when my TV doesn't have these ports! I'll find out later if it reverts back to forcing power saving once the TVs been off for a few hours. My previous TV did this after an update, I got sick of changing modes back and forth to knock it back.
This update has broken the HDMI(ARC) control and sound to my Yamaha receiver. I've now wasted 4 hours trying to get it working and it's still not working. My sound system is now redundant and I'm having to listen to the TV speakers! Not a happy customer. I feel like this update is a result of LG having fallen out with Google and removing functionality and wanting to force LG useless Apps and conditions on their customers. I now have 77" LG Billboard.
I noticed that energy saving option has been removed from the menu, however appears to have been replaced with the pixel brightness on the main settings menu, for me I can live with this as energy saving was buried within a lot of menu options, I am just hoping the pixel brightness does the same thing.
I wish you would respond to my last issue. I would love to have the web browser app work when you try opening the app. And how to get the Home Office app to allow it to work.
@@HazewinDog the regular picture modes seem the same dolby vision and hdr just Gaming mode tone mapping is grayed out no HGIG and image seems abit softer

This update has stopped my alexa working, one of the reasons I bought the TV in the first place, the update has removed more features so how is this an upgrade, more a downgrade and not reversable!

this update messed up my settings. TH-cam app won’t load and install and I am getting flickering now and O disconnected the HDMI and reset everything- this update is useless don’t do it
I have and it says failed update due to error. I even deleted it and tried to reinstall and it says application has not been installed please try again…
I have tried resetting it to factory settings, changed locations, power cycled the tv. None of that worked. Then finally, today when I got home from work I turned on the tv and tried to install it again and it worked… so random…

Por ahora lo que hice fue darle reset a los settings del game mode. Me fui a los settings de Nvidia panel para que la C2 haga el scaling pero le puse no scaling, y se ve bien. En lo que cabe.
I did download SW File(Version 13.30.50) from LG. But the zip file contains 2 files (lib32-starfish-global-secured-o22-meru-19-04.40.90_prodkey_usb_V3_SECURED.epk and lib32-starfish-global-secured-o22-nameri.pine-23-13.30.55_prodkey_usb_V3_SECURED.epk). Why are Game Mode setting grayed out i mean everything now.
Had to chage to vivid to adjust black lvls colors clarity etc..

Select the pencil icon in the top right corner of the quick menu, and you will be able to delete them from the screen menu👍

After the update Pressing the google assistant on the remote says the function is not supported

On the website it says Google Assistant is shutting down for this update. That's a bummer if you use that functionality often

This update won’t let me change picture setting like sharpness and white balance etc. C2 game setting
Same and my Game Mode is locked on the “Sport” setting. I had a feeling that I shouldn’t have updated.

@@potondim5772 I got it working again. You have to set the sound mode to game optimizer also.
For some reason, they made it so you can only change "sharpness" and "color" in the game dashboard menu if you're using game mode
For me it's exactly the same, just looks different. But now I get full screen ads! Came here looking for how to disable that....

happened to me too. LG wanted a service call to investigate, they would not accept it was a result of the upgrade

Pixel brightness was already there before, just not prominently displayed I suppose.

@@Vokon they moved all the picture setting over to Game Mode ui and it looks softer blur even with sharpening at 50... LG C2

You have to restore the setting it happend to me but I loose Google assistant and 4k 120hz 😢

Pues yo perdí el 4k 120hz , antes iba espectacular hasta la actualización, te go un i7 13700k y una rtx 4070 ti me jode mucho algo que iba bien

I was told the new update makes the auto dimming worse and in general webOS23 is trash apparently, so i wont be updating my C2.
Cannot confirm. Looks and works like with OS22 for me. New is only the UI stuff. All other settings are still there.
