Thanks for the video. I was pulling my hair out try to remove the screws from previous seat that cracked. And then I used your tips on installing. Saved me money and frustration! 👍🏻
Most useful video describing installation of most any common brand of new toilet seat onto Kohler one piece toilet. Removal of old seat anchors (may be difficult) described in other videos.
Worked like a charm. Thank You. I definitely needed the washers there were no black tabs. Kohler helpline was no use at all. The Home Depot clerk in the plumbing department had no idea what I was talking about. He said he never heard of a one-piece toilet.
This works. Tried this expansion nut from Home Depot. Only difference was I used it with a 2" bolt which allows you to expand it more and make it tighter. Thank you for this. Don't know what I'll do with my leftover Kohler anchor which I bought but couldn't install without the kit.
The Kohler 1 piece is a joke. Give me the nut and bolt seat any day. First of all you have to pry the old bolt and expansion piece is not easy. You risk scratching or cracking the toilet if you don't use a piece of wood as a fulcrum with either a large screwdriver as a lever. I used a large pair of linesman pliers to pull straight up. How's the expansion kit you use holding up?
They didnt make it easy a couple options take a drill and bit to drill through or take a screwdriver and hammer to work it out theres some video on how to remove I used a screwdriver up to you but you have to break it our carefully because tank can crack dont hit the tank to much good luck

I used exactly what you suggested and it worked perfectly! Thank you!!!
Worked perfectly. I have to agree with everything that John Q said. Exact same experience at Home Depot. Thank you for this video. Very, very helpful.
This is absolutely brilliant! And it worked perfectly! Thanks for sharing because it worked like a charm!!

I bought the same extension nut and screw from HomeDepot. But when I screw in, the extension will come out. May I know what could be the reason?
Can you describe the size of all parts used? I need to replace toilet seat and the screws are just spinning. Thanks
What if I accidentally threw the black pet away? Where can I get that piece?
Thank you
What a ridiculously and unnecessarily complex process. And how do you get the old corroded bolts and anchors out to begin with?
