- The Final Boss of the True Arena which is a harder version of Magolor Soul. This was done without taking damage.
Given that the true arena of the remake is pretty difficult (21 bosses this time around.) I cheesed this boss fight with the stone ability as there is no way I will do this without anytime soon.

This boss fight has a new phase from what I recall. I don't remember this in the original anyway.
Given that the true arena of the remake is pretty difficult (21 bosses this time around.) I cheesed this boss fight with the stone ability as there is no way I will do this without anytime soon. I should clarify, all magolor epilogue boss fights are included in the true arena. Rounding it up to 21.
They moved all the super ability attacks into a second phase, and added a few more based on the new abilities. Pretty neat touch.

Something I genuinely love about this fight is the transition detail from his first to second phase.
He loses his eyes before the eyeball in the center takes over, giving that feeling that Magolor genuinely succumbs to the power of the crown itself even further than before.
Also really feels like him throwing out that apple for kirby is like his last breath, before he falls silent and the Master Crown overpowers his will.
It also adds more to the dark matter aspect of the master crown
Looking back, I was sort of hoping that after the eyes are gone, the mouth would complete open up and took over the place where Mag's eyes were, and the eyeball will stare directly at us, or gaze tracing on the pirority player, sort of serving as a Drawcia Soul throwback, idk, too scary of a concept for Kirby?
But again, we did have Fecto Forgo hallway chase moment in Forgotten Land.

I like to think that too. As it charges up for its final phase the Soul eschews _all_ greater ambitions: the only thing on its agenda is now *_DESTROY KIRBY_*

There’s no doubt in my mind that Dark Matter and the Crown are intrinsically connected. You even see the form of the Master Crown be used by Void Termina in all of its fights, meaning that the Master Crown must’ve been a reincarnation of Void Termina, just like Dark Matter was.
Void Termina uses Master Crowns in its boss fight in Star Allies, implying that he created the crown to begin with. Considering Void is also the progenitor of all matter, Heart, Dream, Soul and *Dark*, and Magolor Soul's eye, this implies that the Master Crown is a Dark Matter entity.
Also, since Kirby: RTDL takes place before Star Allies, it's entirely possible that the orb in the background is actually Void itself, watching you.

That little robot bozo is literally one of the most badass Kirby bosses ever simply because of the second phase
The pause menu text revealing the Master Crown has always been evil, giving people endless power while devouring their souls in the process is very cool. I also like that during the final phase, the text changes to Magolor smugly saying that if Kirby saves him he will come back to toy with him, which then leads to him eventually having a genuine change of heart and getting redeemed during Magolor Epilogue, destroying the crown for good.
It also makes his dialogue in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe where he says "I'll take over the Dream Kingdom!...haha, just kidding. Did I scare you?" much more meaningful in retrospect.
Also, fun fact. During the second healthbar the music changes. Some instruments get more echo/slightly different, the choir becomes louder, and you can hear Magolor's glitchy voice.

I still wonder how he was able to return to Dreamland (no pun intended) on the Lor Starcutter after being sentenced to a life of apple isekai.

Anyways, when I played this game when I was a child, I remember that the lor starcutter pause screen said that some belive it has its own consious, that's why the Lor starcutter goes after kirby and friends with landia after defeating magolor and returns them to dreamland, but we never see magolor there, maybe the starcutter did the same after magolor's redemtion in the dream kingdom

I think by this point, by Magolor's last breath as the crown overtakes his will, he truly does cherishes his friendship with Kirby and the small time they had together. Throughout the fight, you can hear strange noises. Presumably Magolor calling out to you. His vocals were drowning in the soundtrack throughout the fight, as though his will was drowned by the crown itself.
The thought randomly struck me, maybe it’s an apple because of Magolor’s thing with gem apples?

I rarely see anyone talking about it, and it was in the original, but the detail of the portal in the back slowly getting bigger and closer to Popstar is such a fantastic detail that adds pressure and actual feeling of "this has to be dealt with fast" which is really great. This whole game has just been making one of the best Kirby games already, even betterer.
I’m my opinion this remake perfected 2D Kirby so from my perspective you can’t get 2D Kirby better than this deluxe package
@@Captain_Wiiyt It really depends if they remake Robobot. I personally like Return to Dreamland more, but I can't deny that Robobot probably has way more potential to outdo RtDL's Remake with story potential for Susie and Haltmann.
I love Magolor, but Haltmann is probably the best written character they've made in the series, so it'd be amazing to see some prologue or epilogue related with Susie and him. Not to mention the potential for a 17 phase Star Dream fight.

I only died once in this battle in the True Arena, managed to defeat this one in the 2nd attempt.
I don’t recall any cries for help from Magolor. Any times when he made those help cries?
The main mode is a scenario where Magolor doesn’t tap the power of the Master Crown and as a result we get the unnamed form, where the unlimited power of the Master Crown isn’t that powerful.
In extra mode we get a scenario where Magolor taps the power of the Master Crown and, as a result after his initial defeat, transforms into Magolor Soul. However, here he holds the unlimited power of the Master Crown back to avoid at least putting things harder for Kirby & co…
Unlike the true arena, where we get a scenario where the unlimited power of the Master Crown overwhelms Magolor, to the point where when he was supposedly defeat, the Master Crown takes full control over Magolor and traps him inside the husk he had become. Now, without someone to hold back the Crown, it’s ready to destroy Kirby and friends, and all Magolor can do is cry for help.
I guess those explain his cries for help

In the normal phase 2 Magolor (which is basically already soul) magolor goes back to normal ,the crown breaks and he basically disappears which leads to Magolor epilogue
However in here a portal is open to another dimension and the soul form is absorbed by it. This can be interpreted in 2 ways
1)This shows how Magolor soul is the canon version since in here we see how Magolor got stuck into that place to begin with
2)however here we don’t see the crown break, quite the opposite since it stays on Magolor… probably is foreshadow or prelude to something since we now know the multiverse in Kirby is real

When you place sad music over Magolor Soul, Soul of Sectonia and Star Dream Soul OS to fulfill that meme of defeating sad people to sad music.
Imagine, if they make a reboot of planet robobot and you get to the part where star dream normally summons galacta knight, but instead the imaciacted soul form rips it's way out of the portal and slashes star dream instead.

That's weird considering how most modern remasters make bosses easier. This game would be even better with an even harder mode even harder the ex so I'm glad we have a boss that's kinda not that brain dead without the stone ability

Good, because final bosses, especially stronger versions of final bosses NEED to be hard.
That second phase may be brutal, the design alterations just subtle enough to be genuinely creepy (namely the loss of the 'eyes' and the significance of the apple)...
But when I played this for the first time, nothing hit harder than the first few seconds:
"Okay, Magolor Soul - weird that this is coming after the last one, but I guess HAL wanted to keep the tradition of the Soul boss being last"

The only thing that i hate is the arena itself.
@@MilesTheCreatorSame with me. On the first try I went in with low health and got owned within the first few attacks. On the second try I beat the first phase and rejoiced for about two seconds before realizing there was obviously going to be a second phase, then proceeded to get annihilated by the barrage of super attacks. On the third try I went in knowing exactly what I was facing and pulled through.
I also realized somthing was off by the time I saw the twin lasers.
Magolor Soul finally beat the "easy final boss" allegations dear CHRIST this fight is much more insane

I like the idea of the apple in between phases, as if to imply thats the last shred of Magolor’s true conscious, before the crown completely succumbs his soul and overtakes his body.

Attention to detail here, the magolor soul second phase here starts with his two upper eyes disappearing, leaving just the one big eye resembling zero. In kirby 64, zero 2's fight starts off exactly the same, showing the two fake eyes then fading away just leaving the one big eye in the center!

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but the two light Hexagons of Magolor Soul's Hands fade in and out when the Eyeless Phase is going on and only in that Phase!
It's almost like his health bar. The Master Crown using up all of its power to fight back one last time!

Not just that, but the crown’s gem flashes too, shifting between its turquoise and its red color.
The master crown actually draining and devaour the real magolor, all of his life, all of his powers, draining everything from magolor until theres nothing.
Also the master crown is shining green & Pink meaning its like the true power of the master crown.

In regular gameplay, Magolor's syllables are played in random order, giving him the impression of saying "Kirby".
...But that's only in the Starcutter. Here, it's DEFINITELY INTENTIONAL.
(Edit: OH! what I ACTUALLY meant to say was you can hear the REAL Magolor saying *"KA-BI"* in his original squeaky voice throughout the entire second phase of the fight.)

When making Magolorese, the developer intended to make some of his noice sound like "Kabii" (Kirby in JP)
@ZE. Brigitte I figured that had a random chance of happening, and all his little syllables are played in a random order, but after playing DX I noticed he says Kabi almost every time you talk to him, specifically in his first sentence.
After hearing Magolor’s cries, I completely had it wrong with him. His heart had been consumed by the power of the Master Crown. I feel sad what he has to go through, especially during this fight.
When can you hear them? I rewatched the video 3 times already and I haven't heard any of those cries!

Hear the squeaking sound? That's his voice. Additionally, notice that it only comes after he reaches Phase 2, when his eyes disappear and all that remains is the eye of Zero.

After Revenge of Dreamland (made by Shay) and the unfair Magolor Soul mod this new and massive improved Magolor Soul feels unreal at how much the new attacks parallel the modded attacks of the fanmade Magolors.
But I couldn't be happier! It looks amazing and way more unique!
The fact that the eyes that resemble Magolor go away on the second phase is a bit humorous to me. It’s as if the Master Crown just gave up trying to hide that it’s the one in control now.

Omg this is so heartbreaking! After 4:48 you can hear Magolor saying desperately: 'Kirby, Kirby' repeatedly
If you think about it, there is an entire story event happening in this fight. It's not told directly, but once you piece things together, it becomes all too clear that something is going on.
While Magolor Soul's initially just an 'oh fuck' moment, this phase completely recontextualizes everything in what seems like to be an alternate scenario of the fight. For Magolor Soul, there has always been this sense of hopeless despair but it was also coupled with a bit of determination and decisiveness--no matter what happens, Kirby is willing to fix the situation the best he could. That is what he is best at. Here, however, there's no sign of that determination or decisiveness. Taking the song from Star Allies, there is granted still some of that little spark of awe just in the overall vibe, but all around they also seem to emphasize on the more darker vibe especially in this one. It's almost desolate, overwhelming and depressing. That's not to forget the whole Magolor begging for help thing happening in the background, his voice sounds really weak and pained. He was clearly struggling to get his words out beyond the darkness.
Then there's the description in Phase 2 showing Magolor speaking in a casual pompous way, asking Kirby to break the crown so he could 'toy with him again' as if he was planning to make amends with him once they're done, and all that after venting about how he was angry at him. It seems to imply, purely because of its usage in this phase alone, that Magolor, in the midst of his complete despair, has decided that he has given up and wants Kirby to stop it all (likely because he just wanted to survive).
It becomes extremely heartbreaking when you consider the notable events that happen in here. Firstly, the phase transition in the end where it seemed like Magolor Soul lost consciousness for a moment before it roared and an apple fell out of the eye, presuming to be Magolor's final attempt to help Kirby before he is gone forever. And secondly, whatever happened in the end where the crown was anything but shattered, we may just be witnessing the worst case scenario to Magolor. The scenario where Kirby fails to free him, the scenario where he is completely overtaken by the Master Crown and ultimately, the scenario where he is (most likely) dead.
With all that in mind, this may have been the most tragic/disturbing Kirby boss fight yet, especially since we know Magolor for so many years prior and just when we also got the new mode that was basically his redemption arc. And this is just a heavily tweaked/reworked (with a few new moves) boss phase! How crazy is that? How HAL managed to shove so many deep information into subtle details for such a seemingly indifferent fight is admirable.
What about Haltmann in the true arena? When we destroy... whatever the heck those pillars are called, he screams in agony. Then after the final pillar is destroyed, his last scream is distorted (or that I remember) and he... well dies.
@@championumbreon1771 That is dark for sure, but there's something really depressing about an already losing battle with a clear fate for our beloved deceptive egg. Fighting 'till the end just to get the exact end we've been fearing. If it was canon, then it must be very scarring to the children.

Seriously, I think this is the saddest part about it, the Japanese version say that he had enough, and want to stop it all, he them proceed to tell Kirby to smash the crown meaning HE THOUGHT that Kirby could do it

The ending animation had me scratching my head for awhile. The crown was never shattered in this fight, and Magolor never returns to his normal form before the portal closes.

This whole boss battle was revamped. The attack patterns and even the song is different, they even added a second phase, and honestly, it makes the original Magolor Soul look like child's play
Also, if you listen closely, you can hear grunts, but not from Kirby at all

@@privateterry7975 it does. The regular/old Magolor Soul is in EX mode, along with its original theme (though the theme is also for the equivalent phase in Normal mode).
I'm glad they did something new here, since I always felt like the original Magolor Soul was outdated by the Soul bosses that came after him. Not only did he not have an extra phase, but the fight was also not exclusive to the True Arena.
This one IS only in the True Arena, and it has an extra (or rather, redone) phase!
Return to Dreamland was one of my favorite childhood games, so this means a lot.
I don't remember Magolor Soul having extra attacks OR EVEN HAVING A PHASE 2!!!!

That's because unlike the original game & EX adventure mode, where Magolor Soul's eyes are still there yet he has an eyeball in his mouth, this remake version has Magolor's eyes completely shut. Meaning Magolor has been fully possessed by Zero who is residing in the Master Crown. Why Zero you ask? In the wikipedia of Villains Wiki, the eyeball looks exactly like Zero's. Which might imply Zero is still alive or his last remains are hiding within the crown. After entering phase 2, we see that Zero has completely shut Magolor's eyes closed. Which means Zero has full control over both the Master Crown & the one who is wearing it himself.

One thing are the mods made by fans, which are obviously going to be harder than the original deal, and a completely different thing are the official games. *And then* there's this moster. Holy crap, I wasn't ready to see this beast unleashed, because the mere fact that it comes _just_ a little close to the likes of Unfair Magolor in an offcial game is insane; this is probably going to surpass both Planet Robobot and Star Allies as the hardest Arena in the modern Kirby games.
If we assume that the intended way to play the true arena in star Allie’s is solo, than Void’s still harder. This guy is still a close second tho
@@Paradoxe_0 Agreed, a lot of people judge the boss rushes by how difficult they are with the circumstances the game gives you, but there is also the point of view of how hard they are with certain conditions, for example, no damage, or no copy abilities, etc.
This is definitely new, the sand pillars make it more obvious to me. Considering some people have placed Chaos Elfilis above Magolor, he may have reclaimed his spot as the best Kirby boss.

I thought that the few buffs for the attacks were pretty cool but then I noticed the health bar was almost empty and non of the super attacks have happened so I knew something was up but then.. the true battle began.

Oh good God, this looks _harder_ than the original. I love how he got two new attacks based on the Sand and Mecha abilities on top of his own versions of the Super Abilities. HAL did not have to go this hard on this boss, but they did it anyway, and it's so dope!

Welp glad to see that my personal headcanon that Void Termina is imprisoned in that area is approved!
At the same time, one of the descriptions of Void says that he exists in all dimensions, so...
In addition, when you want to fight Void Termina again in the story mod, the level and represented by a black hole, in reference to the super nova (see hyper nova) of which it is at the origin, forms that of the nicknames of Void is , and that concretely, Void looks like an all-powerful idiot who is at the origin of everything... that reminds me of something.
Imagine if RTDL Deluxe might have an expansion pack with a 4th adventure mode! Where you venture through a dimension generated by the Master Crown’s death, expelling it’s cosmic energy in the form of a singularity leading to it’s own world, letting you fight *Master Bosses!* Each with their own lore!
The levels might be as follows:
*1. Malice Meadows - Nature in it’s own “nature”*
*2. Aggression Alleys - A dessert of “locusts”*
*3. Glistening Glory - A sea of “angels”*
*4. Outland Offensive - Mountains of “demons”*
*5. Lordly Landmark - The castle above the heavens*
*6. Omniarch’s Origin - The crown’s labyrinth*
*7. Royale - The domain of the Master Crown*
And the final battle will be against… *The Master Crown’s Sentience!* The same Master Crown that you “fought” during the end of True Arena, after being banished by “another Kirby”. Now, the crown’s sentience has to set “their” Magolor free!

Phase 1 is different then wii version. He still have control of his own power until phase 2 gets even darker…the master crown has fully taken Control of his body. You can hear the voice calling to Kirby to help.

More like the devs decided to give him new attacks based on the new abilities just so the fight wouldn't feel like a harder copy of the original.

I can hear magolor's voice being possesed in both body and soul by the crown he has been looking for a long time blinded by greed, regretting all he did until now and pleaing to kirby to stop the master crown, even if he has to die after that, he is no longer egoisthical
A second way to cheese Magolor EX, Soul, and True phases in simple steps:
Step 1: When in the lobby before the bosses, Grab the Sand ability. Sand has a perfect block, and can do good damage. Just don’t get reckless. ( Getting too close to Fiery / Fatty puffer, and trying to block Magolor’s black hole )
Step 2: BE PATIENT. If you are too rushy you will get hit very easily.
Step 3: Try to conserve as many heals as possible, and only use them if you are very low on HP.
Step 4: When you finally get to Magolor EX and Soul, use ⬆️🅱️ a whole lot. This attack has good range and is also very good for taking out the doomers.
If my info is wrong please tell me, as I have used the steps to overcome the True Arena myself. ( It should work. )
This is so different from the Magolor Soul fought in the main story mode that I can’t help but wonder, why didn’t they change his appearance and give him a different name like they did for Void Termina’s variations? Idk, something like… Magolor Ultima? Or Chaos Magolor? Not sure why they’d change the fight so drastically yet keep the name the same. The only way to distinguish the fights now is “the one in the extra mode” or “the one from the true arena.” Doesn’t quite roll off the younger if that makes sense. I wanna see some name ideas for this second variation of the Magolor Soul fight, if y’all got any.

This Is a much better finale than the original. The original was always pretty Easy but this feels much better. Only weird thing is he uses the new abilities added in to the remaster; which kinda defeats the point of him using the ultra abilities.

The biggest thing I've noticed is that "Magolor Soul" implies we're facing Magolor's Soul. And since it's revealed he's a Dark Matter (Probably Zero), it may imply that Magolor's Soul is either possessed by Zero, either he really IS Zero. This gives a whole new context to his attempt at redemption.

The way the EX mode is structured always led me to believe that it's the canon way the events of the game actually played out, at least in regards to the Magolor fight.

I always imagined the Extra Modes and True Arenas to be canon tbh. It just feels better
At the beginning of Magolor epilogue we see a cutscene in which we witness the defeat of Magolor Soul as shown to us in Extra mode (with the crown breaking, all that all that...), so nothing to see with that defeat in the true arena.
And the basic main adventure mod is the canon version (witness the puzzle with the effigy of Magolor in Star Allis), not the Extra version.
Which means that, until proven otherwise, Magolor Epilogue is not part of the main continuity.

Idea: The Truer Arena. All the normal and EX bosses. You're at 50% your normal hp and Magolor is at his Super Soul form. He has 3 phases this time and his 3rd phase has creepy music. Then if you win the battle, you'll get a Super Crown (Not the one from Mario.) for thanks. If you accept the award Kirby will keep it on his head. This can be enabled or disabled in settings.

Unfair Magolor Soul: Official Version
Okay, here's my fan theory: the Master Crown and Zero Two are both connected to Void Termina, and Zero, who was de-powered to the point he was basically a ghost after his last defeat, used that connection to manifest his remaining essence in the master crown, we even get more evidence towards this after Magolor's eyes disappear leaving only the big red eye, which is probably zero, after Magolor soul is defeated and the master crown is destroyed, Zero's essence is banished from known space(back to the hyper zone and powerless) but it leaves an "imprint" in the crown's fragments, and thus the Mistileteinn(tree-crown without a ruler) incident happened(for those of you who don't know, that thing was created when the crown's fragments possessed the gem apple.)
In short, Magolor soul was Zero Three all along! Well more like Zero Two and a half.
