Whenever I hear the school shooting is caused by bullying argument it really makes me wonder if people have ever spoken to another human before or understand how emotions work. Because I think it’s definitely true that humiliation or even extremely traumatic events can give you feelings of aggression and make you angry at the fact that that happened to you. but like it doesn’t change your position on whether or not you should walk up to a random person on the sidewalk and just murder them.
Like there’s a difference with dealing with aggression as a result of being bullied, and then taking that aggression out on random people that you never met. And it makes me wonder if the people that make that argument do it because they probably didn’t have to deal with much bullying through their life, and they’re not able to relate to other people with the experience? It definitely seems to be people like that who says it the most.

@@u1hpme Yes, but what kind of bullying, and by whom? it said he chose the two girls randomly, and it has not been confirmed that the boy who died bullied him! It said that the shooter was known as a troublemaker, usyally a child who gets bullied doesn't cause trouble, they are quiet, invisible, certainly not troublemakers. So that needs to be investigated, And if he was bullied, why was that? did he cause trouble to others ,did he annoy them, did he do something that made them angry and not want to be with him, or was he a sweet quiet boy who just got randomly bullied, that's what needs to be investigated. It will come out for sure.

Luckily my friend doesn't go to that school, but when I heard the news from my classmate, they didn't say what town/city, and when I told them that my friend is from Vantaa they remembered that it happened there.

He got the gun from a relative. In Finland you are not allowed to carry a gun even with a gun permission, it has to be unloaded and you have to either be going hunting, to the shooting range or to the gunshop, and it must be completely unloaded. When at home or in temporary storage it must always be behind a lock.
The only way he ever couldve gotten the gun is by neglegence of the gun owner, his relative. I hope the gun owner is getting stripped from his gun permission.
But yes bullying is the real cause and it definitely happens a lot in Finland. Liberal thinking has nothing to do with it, mentality towards things that affect bullying doesnt change with it because every1 is so clueless about things that afffect bullying, nobody thinks about those things.

    • @Jonra1
      @Jonra1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Kids don't just mimic this. There's plenty of bullying in schools and schools do not have the tools to deal with it. Usually in Finland if someone is severely bullied, the parents are asked or recommended that the kid should be moved to different school. The bully gets to stay, but the bullied potentially needs to uproot themselves and move elsewhere.
This is what you get, when teachers aren't even allowed to physically intervene anymore and troubled children are thrown into regular classrooms. When I was growing up schools have special small classes for these individuals where they'd get more individualistic attention from specially trained teachers, but these classrooms were taken away for the sake of "inclusivity" and savings. The schools in Finland have suffered since.

This is why it’s important for journalists to refrain from publicizing the names of perpetrators. Individuals who commit such acts are often driven by a desire for notoriety that can last for decades. Indeed, some people are willing to commit the most heinous acts for this very reason. Why is this the case? It’s not only because human beings can still exhibit primitive and violent tendencies, but also due to narcissism.
When narcissistic people see this on TV and social platforms, they believe it’s the perfect way to achieve instant and lasting fame. They essentially mimic these criminals. So, I implore journalists worldwide to stop publicizing the names of these killers. This could be a crucial step in preventing such atrocities.

But it’s of course, generally considered ethical to avoid doing so to prevent inspiring potential copycat crimes, in European countries. Also, just to mention that America is not a state, but a country. I know, America is often used to refer to the United States, but it’s technically a country, not a state. The full name, “United States of America,” indicates that it’s a federation of states united under a central government.

Then secondly i've seen children claim that they are bullied and in the further research found out that they are the major bully in the class: but the reality that child was true to them: they just processed the world differently and projected their own actions. So no, while I think that bullying is horrible wrong and have suffered from bad bullying too as a young age, I still think this is not okay to say. And
(Note:I feel empathy towards my bullies even tho they made my life hell. They were just kids and didn't know how to stop walking the path they were. Some of them weren't very talented so they needed to do more work to atcheave the same results as the rest, such as being their needs met etc.--easier to just compensate by bullying.)

On tehtävä asioita selväksi, mitä seuraa kiusaamisesta. Useiden vuosien jälkeen, he ovat tulleet taputteleman olkapäille, että mitäs äijä, kiitos että olit meidän turvana.

Today, the Finnish police have announced to the public that the motive behind the act was school bullying. The shooter was bullied at school. Finland's National Broadcasting Company aired a documentary program on television titled "The Promised Land of Bullies. Kiusaajien luvattu maa" (11.9.2023)
It questioned why bullying cannot be eradicated in Finnish schools. Studying in schools in Finland is too burdensome because of bullying. It is a common problem. Traditionally, schools have wanted to hide this issue. The problem of bullying in Finnish schools has been discussed in public for several decades, and nothing has been done to address the issue.
In Finland, yesterday and today, the comments sections of news articles have been filled with comments from frustrated people. People do not believe that bullying is addressed because politicians are not interested in it. There are too many beautiful speeches. Actions are few.
The PISA score of the Finnish school system has plummeted. Children in Finland feel unwell in schools.

this is very sad but its also very rare case here in finland. unfortunately our laws always protect the criminals more than the victims. this kid will not be responsible for this action unfortunately, because of his age. and i think its bs, because 12yrs old knows what is wrong and right. he knows a gun is dangerous and not take it without premission. If he was an adult he would get around 10yrs anyways, because our laws arent really tought in here. just recentely a little 4yrs old kid was killed by his parents, basically his stepfather tortured him to death and mother did nothing to stop it, and they got 2yrs and 6yrs in prison. so you can imagine how many killers walk here free men after serving little time.

Whilst we can't say with any certainty whatsoever that this 12 year old was influenced by similar incidents elsewhere, I am beginning to question whether it is wise to broadcast these news stories other than in the country where it occurs. Perhaps the news should be released when the perpetrator of these crimes has been sentenced in a court of law with the full implications and not just of the crime itself. I suppose it still wouldn't stop all of these types of incidents happening, but I really do think we should start to look as how we can nip in the bud them spreading to countries where these types of crimes have been historically extremely rare.

Children pick up and awful lot. We know absolutely nothing about the child or his family. But many modern children are just left to their own devices and are given screens instead of human contact. Child controls are a joke and any self respecting twelve year old can bypass them. Even when I see parents with their children, even babies, the parent gives them a screen. So what they see is fake and almost exclusively horrible. This is their world. Children are starting school now not knowing what a book is, trying to run their finger across it rather than turn the page. He might not sit down and watch a properly edited news programme with his father in the evening, but I bet he sees short social media posts glamourising violence, even if it's just other children showing it. Children act thick to their parents, but they are far more switched on than we given them credit for. I think that the OP has a good point.

Finland is full of hunters and active reservists who train shooting. A LOT of guns per capita. As it should be, for this is not a gun issue, it's a mental health problem. We've had a sword attack in school too. As you said, this was a licensed gun and clearly it was not kept safe correctly. There are laws which tell you how you must keep your gun in a safe locked place. If you have multiple guns, you must have weapons locker, which is usually a very heavy locker made of iron and it may weigh about 200 kgs.
The relative who the shooter stole the gun from is most likely to lose all of his guns and licenses. You lose them very easily in Finland if you break the law.

Lapset ovat nykyään hyvin raadollisia, kiusaamista tapahtuu kaikissa paikoissa, he eivät aina välttämättä ymmärrä tekemiään asioita, vaikka saattaakin tapahtua kiusaaminen. Henkiläkohtaiseti näen päivittäin, millaisia nuoret osaa olla. Kaikissa ikäluokissa tapahtuu kiusaamista. Kun ihminen kuvittelee, että olemmehan me jo 40-80 v. Me olemme fiksuja. Mutta katin kontit.
