Cold is best. But also try and push in a little with the piping bag as you pipe so the base has a larger surface area connected to the side of the cake.
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I have learnt so much and I am encouraged to keep practicing my piping. What size would you say the heart cake was, please.🙏🏽
@sugarsugarcakes hello, nice tutorial. Could you tell us what brand of pil based color you used for the peach and lilac? Also, where do we get that particular fondant letter cutter?
Hello I used Colour Mill oil colours. The cutters I apologise Ive had for a very long time. I purchased 'alphabet cutters' a long time ago from my local decorating store. You could try looking that keyword up. All the best!
Your video is honestly so informative and fantastic! I’ve been looking for a video like this for agessss! To go through the tips for a design like this and learning what the designs are called. Thank you!! I’m just wondering where do you tend to buy your tips and your scraper from? I can only find ones at my local superstore and they aren’t great quality
Hello! This was made from a 7 inch round cake, and t would feed the same amount as a round 7 inch (and this applies for any size cake tin you use). I have a free portion guide that shows you both the coffee + dessert portions for all diameter sizes. You can access it here: learn.sugarcakeschool.com/courses/cake-portion-guide-free

Beauty cake! Did you use two different size spatulas for frosting? What's it called and what size? Thank you.
All you need are a medium offset spatular, and a scraper (metal or acrylic) :)

Do you recommend crumb coat?
The white layer is a crumb coat
always! It makes the final coat clean and crumb free :)
What recipe for the cake? I have just tried to do it with a Victoria Sponge recipe and it was a disaster.
