Everything in this place is a fake front - the clothing, the expressions, the emotions, and words of everyone there. They are all acting and playing a part. Anyone saying "I love you!" in a place like this would obviously be lying. This relates to the song in that Annie is saying she has matured past the point where she wears her emotions on her sleeve for everyone to see. She won't be taken advantage of. If someone says "I love you!" to her she would probably say back "Show it, don't say it!".
