Thanks for watching.
For those who doesn’t have this tool: have two cutters/pliers on hand, one perpendicular to the other, so basically one holds the strings together firmly and the other one cuts, so you don’t just mush the wires when cutting.
Bob has got it right.... Always better to have the proper tools for the job, but if you don't want to spend the money on a tool that is used very infrequently then you could do what I do use a small Dremel with a fine cutting blade... First cut a shallow groove in a small piece of wood to hold the cable and then very lightly cut the cable.... the finished job looks professional just a little oil to lubricate the cable at the ends.
? A dremel is more than a cable cutter
@@bmzaron713 but most of us already have one.
Yep.. I learned the hard way. Stick with a quality one which is designed for bike cables.
Nice video .
Dremel all the way 👍 clean and quick.
Great video
Thanks 🙏
Use a Dremel tool with a cutting disc. It will cut any bike cable much cleaner than any manual plier type tool. A Dremel will give you super clean cuts with zero housing compression and zero cable fraying. It will even cut Di2 cables/wires perfectly.
Bob Gardner Amen to that 👍
I was about to spend $35 on some bike wire cutters and remembered I have a dremel, so I'll try that.
Helpful. Thank you. Any recommendations on products that do well in cutting this kind of cable?
I have a dropper post on my bike but the cables too long on the lever on the bars can I just cut it with pliers
