Point of clarification: at 6:58, Saber's j[C]'s backside hit does not break crossup protection, so if you crossup with meaty j[C] they can block it on either left or right side high while if you same side with it (or jC or jB, since they'll also hit here) they will have to block same-side-high.
You can still set up some left-right ambiguity by either intentionally whiffing the j[C]/landing during its startup and doing 2A (will lose to mash) or by intentionally leaving a 1f gap between j[C] and 2A for a left/right-ambiguous low (though this will give more time to switch their block). There's a bit of a tradeoff to it between these 2 options for left/right-ambiguous low.
This is all around an excellent video going over some important tools of Saber's to work with. I just thought some people might get confused by the crossup part since it actually can be blocked on either side if you crossup with it.

I thought that what made Saber special was that b/c she can charge it, it makes it easier to fake people out.

Great video! Its interesting to see that the combos you are doing with saber are completely different to what I've been doing! I've been doing stuff like auto combo into air C then the 236 B sword dive into crouch C to continue the combo on the ground. It is just really neat the freedom that this game gives you to combo beyond the simple auto combo system.

Ok Spooky... I watched your stream when I heard Melty Blood was available on STEAM; saw you and NerdJosh going at it... dude, ma boy already had like 200 matches in, that is some truth; but was surprised you wa rocking Sabre, but I see your choice was not taking lightly and definitely was putting in the time.
Nothing but love man, definitely hope you grab a secondary-main, because I definitely want to see you rock one of the villian-girls; plus, I need to check out the lore before I can get me a PC copy

Agree, I don’t feel like there are a ton of anti air options
AtlantaHays there really are not. 3C has head invulnerability after 7 or so frames. But if your opponent uses a charge C move it will clash and you will lose. Generally, if you see a charge you use stand shield. Air to airs are usually the better option. Or even just getting out of the way.

lets not forget that while moon drive is active you get an additional jump and air dash for that safe jump mixup

when i try to do the autocombo extension off of 22C at 4:15, i can never get the launch after the multihit part of the autocombo. any idea why that is?
Make sure you are not hitting it as an OTG (they need to still be airborne)
Nice combos . Check out the 40+ hit combo for saber I came up with and out on my channel . I did a blood heat version and a moon drive version . You do a very similar combo in your video .
I have everything in your video down pat , except you taught me the safe jump , double jump into hold down heavy C . Incredible bro . I’m going to incorporate that . I’m B rank right now , close to A rank . I was beating B ranks all last night . I’m getting better . This will help me hit A rank , but then I need to get better all around for S rank .
Now what is [JC], if you don't mind explaining. I have this on the Switch and have been practicing the combos, but I just can't seem to get it.
j always means jump
jc (lowercase) means jump cancel, so jumping after a move you've done
j.C means using your C attack during a jump/in the air
j[C] means holding your C button in the air to charge it

Those safe jump mixes are nice, definitely need to try and start using them. I've found another combo option is that after the second hit of auto combo, the multiple slashes move, you will always be in range to do medium uppercut, which you can then jump cancel to do the charged heavy, delayed b, then land and you can do the 5b 3c into two air buttons and grab, which could actually set up the safe jump. I've also found that if you want to spend bar, using the moondrive forward bc will let you use a super move when you land. This can be to finish with whatever, or you can even extend with 214c, use two hits of the auto combo into 236b, then finish with whatever you want. It's been so fun to lab combos again, and hopefully I explained that alright. If not, ask me to clarify and I'll try my best! Saber gang rise up!

Why are people saying she isn’t strong?
Just people overreacting that she isn't busted. No grounded overheads besides 3rd hit of Rekka (214x), and her divekick isn't an overhead which is really confusing. 2B, one of her main footsie tools isn't a low. This makes it difficult for her to open up people without using meter or taking a risk. Doesn't mean she's bad, she's just a really solid fundamentalist character.

@@AtlantaHays Don't know too much about Noel, but the one that comes to mind for me is Red Arc who can overhead in the middle of her blockstring or go low, no meter needed. Also has a DP that goes well with her zoning tools.
