  • Lester Young was interviewed in Paris under very informal circumstances by François Postif, who was both an acquaintance and an enthusiast. As Lester speaks of matters historical, musical, and personal, his word choice and candor - despite his clear knowledge that the interview was being recorded - show this to be a casual though earnest conversation among friends.

    Pres would be gone just a month later after this interview was done. Interesting to hear him down and dirty as it was, although a bit of ear straining to try and pick up parts of what was being said, I`ll give it to him since his health was in decline.

    Funny right off the bat it's off to a shaky start with the interviewer not understanding Lester Young saying he moved to Algiers but the interviewer thought he said 10 years !!! Okay let me go back to this
