Maybe you can help. I'm making a rectangular frame out of round tube. I made the rectangle sketch and added the tubular weldment. However I want the inside dimensions of the frame to be the same as the sketch. I can't seem to get the "locate Profile" to work on round tubing?
GoEngineer, So I have just installed Solidworks 2016. On my previous version it was easy and simple to use my weldments profiles. I do understand how load your own profiles or any kind. Now the problem I run into is: When you right click on your tab you see your options: Assemble, Layout, Sketch, Evaluate and so on... And for some reason, and maybe I did something when I first started to use solidworks, it doesn't give me option of adding weldments tab? So I can't use it at all? Am I supposed to do something in setting to be able to use this feature? Or maybe it's my installation was done wrong? Please help help!! Thanks,
The Weldments tools are stock for all SolidWorks installations but they are only for use in Part mode. From the list of tabs that you have it sounds like you are in Assembly mode. Try making a new Part file and see if you cannot turn the 'Weldments' tab on in that.
Excellent explanation. Strong and Clear voice. Thank you very much for your help.
Thank you for your comment and for watching.
Thank you for your help!!!! This is not something taught in most classes.
