In my country that $15 per day alone for a whole month will be around $450. Thats 45000 here. That can pay rent in a good one bedroomed house, pay bills, and still have a lot left to save its way above what a lot of people earn😎😎
Unfortunately, in US and Canada you can't pay any rent for that amount, and groceries for my family of 6 cost over $800 a month. My mortgage for my small old house is almost $1,000 (and rent for one bedroom would be at least $1,200). And we are not wealthy. We're not even middle class. We struggle. This is not good work for us besides some extra money. I quit medical transcription because the pay was lower than minimum wage and not liveable.

Hi! I am no longer working for Rev. However, I still have access to caption jobs if I wanted to even while in Spain since my account was approved. So I imagine that you will still be able to caption jobs even if your IP is in Portugal since you applied and were approved while still in Canada. Of course, contacting Rev and letting them know about your travel plans may be best, but this is my experience. :)
Hi Jennifer. I'm not sure whether you'll be able to answer this question or not but I'm going to ask it anyway. After taking the transcription test on Rev, I now realize that I did not time stamp the foreign language portion of the conversation. In your opinion, would you say that that in itself is disqualifying? I'm so upset with myself right now because I feel as though I breezed through everything else on the test. I've taken more difficult tests getting into English Honors courses in college so I'm not worried about the English, grammar, and punctuation portions of the test. So if you were assuming everything else was completed acceptably to Rev however the timestamp was missed, would you think I would still have a good shot at being accepted?
Does Rev ask for the Paypal ID after we've been accepted and approved, or do we have to provide our paypal e-mail the very first time itself when registering for the test ?

Hi Mary, you're very welcome! This is part of thee Rev style guide: "You should omit unnecessary filler words, false starts, stutters, or repetitions for increased viewer readability." In general, you must write every word that the person says, unless it is something with stutters or repetitions, for example: "I'm g-g-going to the sh-store" - You would just write "I'm going to the store"

The captioning software that you see in the Rev instructional videos is Rev's own built-in software. It isn't a separate software, so there isn't a way you can practice in advance unfortunately.
How will I know that I passed? They sent me an email. It goes like this. noticed you started the process to become a captioner with Rev. I know it requires an hour of your time to complete the sign-up process and submit a sample with our caption editor. We ask for this commitment because once you are approved to be a Revver, you’ll be able to enjoy the following benefits: Work anytime, anywhere Choose from hundreds of interesting projects Get paid every Monday Be part of a community of over 50,000 Revvers! Then there's this bar under this email saying Continue signing up
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to practice with Rev's software. Only when you're doing the test. Rev captioning is usually easier to get into than Rev Transcription but they aren't easy that's for sure.
I applied once and sadly got rejected. I tried to apply a couple of days later for the second time, but rev just wouldn't let me. Has anyone had that kind of problem? Also I'm not really sure if they actually grated me, becaouse I got a response just 2 hours after I submitted!
Hi! Yes, I believe there is a "waiting" process before reapplying of a few months unless you try with a new email. However, I completely agree that I think some graders just deny without even reviewing the application properly because I know people who have failed and I know for a fact they did everything perfectly. I am exploring some new transcription and captioning companies to review that I will create videos for so stay tuned!

hello Jennifer if I may ask I am a revver and all my metrics are currently okay except for the accuracy which is at 4.63 and I am at 1130 minutes, I have like 70 minutes to join revver plus, what happens when I reach 1200 minutes but my accuracy metrics is not yet at 4.7, will my account be terminated?
Hmm. That would seem unfair. I am not sure. I think you should take as many short projects as possible. 1-3 minutes to try to boost your score up before you reach Revver plus

Hi Olive! I don't believe it matters at what time of day you apply to Rev, just ensure you take your time doing the test and apply whenever the application is open. :)
Hello! They grade every piece of work that you submit when you are first accepted as a captioner. So you may get a lower grade on that job but they will tell you what you did wrong.

@@Nicoleventerx Hi again! Have you seen my videos on Crowd Surf? I find that a lot of people have difficulties getting accepted into Rev, even people who have perfect English like you. Crowdsurf may be easier to get approved. I have two different tutorials on it, I'd check it out!
@@Nicoleventerx Your comment is missing important commas. Perhaps your test was missing them as well. You need commas before conjunctions that start phrases containing both a subject and a verb.

Oh God, honestly I know a few people who did the test PERFECTLY, seriously perfectly, and failed. Then others who passed and I have no idea how. I often wonder if the people grading even properly review the files. I am planning on doing a few tutorials for other transcribing websites so stay tuned!!
Don't give up. When i was researching N.A.S.A. for the interview part. It brings up what Ken Tenbusch is saying. Hope this helps. After reading the podcast on what damon and ken were talking about. I learned a lot.

06:55 in my country 10$ a day will be an ok-ish salary per day, and if I could do 20$+ it would be amazing, but I didn't get accepted
Does REV have a practicing system in its website?
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to practice with Rev's software. Only when you're doing the test. Rev captioning is usually easier to get into than Rev Transcription but they aren't easy that's for sure.
Please tell us whether a person from non-English speaking country can take the transcription test of Rev?

Rev kicked off so many people for no reason. I read at reddit. I am scaring if it happens to me too.

I don't think rev is long term job, they finally kick you as well. The job stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail.
If you earn kind of 2000$ per month , it's about 150000 rs in India !!!
That's about 4 times of what I earn from my regular job 🙄
