    Hello everyone. Hope you are having a good day. At the time of posting this we are having crazy good weather in the UK. It's so hot (for us anyway 🤣). Anyway, this tank has been empty for two long but I wanted to make sure I had everything perfect, both equipment wise and idea. Happy with how it's turned out and can really visualise what it will look like in the next month. We've got a little mini co2 system just to give us a boost whilst everything is settling in. Also I added a few fish to keep that filter cycle going as it has been running for months. Just a few....we will obviously be adding a lot more in a later video so make sure you are subscribed and notifications on for that one!!! Nice one guys 😊

      MD, the tank looks amazing as always! Do you know what fish would be perfect for that tank? Tiger Barbs! A school of them zipping and zigging between the wood branches will look realy cool, plus they are an asian species. Cheers!

    I’ve always been so baffled and fascinated by aquatic life! It amazes me how beautiful fish and plants are either fresh or salt water. love your videos fam, your scapes are so gorgeous! They’re so natural so very easy to just sit and stare at for hours absolutely mesmerized. I bet you thoroughly enjoy just chilling out in the fish cave admiring how beautiful your fish and your plants are!

    I love the look of the wood. Aggressive is working! The dragonstone accents it beautifully. I can see what you're talking about with the lighting and the spot lighting. Shimmer and Shadow.. it does give it a nice effect! I like the way each mound has like a jutting pattern to it 😁 thank you for listing the plants like you did.
    The plants look fantastic 🔥 on The hardscape! I love the fact that you teach us how to build these beautiful aquascapes with children around 🤣😂 Gracie 🤗.. since in my case, grandchildren are going to be a major factor when I attempt my first build! 😂🤣🤗 Im really studying on this one MD! I love it! This was a great tutorial with lots of tips (well you do that every time,😂) especially with the planting with the tweezers... That made perfect sense! Wow, this really turned out beautifully..
    Always thank you for sharing! This one really inspired me!

    Not sure if I said this already...getting old means repeating things sometimes. But,you should explore dioramas..museum like background photos of above water habitats..and then go crazy on wood or dried leaves as leading into the "pond" "stream".
    Watch vids those acrylic artists make on ponds or water frozen in clear acrylic..with realistic fish inside the water. Amazing at what they can do.

    I like the scape a lot, fantastic work! One small criticism is that I’ve noticed that sometimes when you work with textured rocks you don’t align the striation of the rocks and I think it can really take away from the aesthetic of the scape in some cases. Please don’t hate me for the comment it’s just feedback and coming from a good place, not trying to be a hater.
    On a side note I’m glad you are getting away from the round river rocks and going with something new! Love it!!! One thing I’d love to see in the future is a bioscape where you try to source everything from a particular region like maybe Thailand or something and decorate the scape accordingly.

      @MDFishTanks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      no hate lol. I just dont like to follow all the traditional rules. I think rock direction and shape comes before striation . I'm not worried about the small details. Rocks will be covered in plants in no time anyway haha.

    Beautiful scape, however within 3 weeks it will look like the angel fish tank, I love what your doing, but for your next scape Could you do something dramatically different eg:no plants or like some sort of huge detailed cliff side, leading to a meddow at the bottom

    • @MDFishTanks
      @MDFishTanks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      yeah tha sounds very cool!! def not look like the angelfish tank though mate. I'm going to keep right on top of it. plus this will have a full green carpet at the front hopefully so should look dramatically different. The angelfish tank is keeping that rough natural look whereas this will evolve into a neat look.

    GREAT video, thank you! I will look forward to seeing if you can add updates to this tank, I'd love to see the natural progression, maybe weekly in the beginning then monthly to see how it fills in. Helps us know that what we are doing in our tanks is normal. 2 months in on my first tank and it sure has had its moments LOL.

    Quick thought! What if you put casters on your tanks? Granted bigger tanks would need heavy duty ones but movement would be easier maybe??
    The price tag was on that wood still. Does it break up in the water?
    This is beautiful! All together it's so peaceful to just watch. Can't wait to see what other fish or invertebrates you add!! Keep it up!!

    carpeting plants struggle in sand even with nutrients below so i hope for your success but if it doesnt work out in the end its due to the sand not allowing enough room for carpeting plants to root easy strongest hardscape layout you have done looks great keep us updated on plant growth hope it works MD :)

    I’m pretty sure in order to use the cigarette filters to attach the driftwood to the dragon stone you need to use the normal super glue (not cyanoacrylate gel) because it soaks into the fibers and the cures into one solid mass. :)

      @MDFishTanks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah it was the non gel...i've got loads of types.
