@championchap Oh I know, I was just speaking in terms of typical sitcom rules. By their standards it's a failed take, but since this is so purposeful, it works better than those series ever would've.
The tiny camera movement to the left when the shovel shows up, then right when his hand goes up, and then back to the left…are the little things that made this show so iconic. That and the extraordinary acting chops!

You Brits like to throw that term around for celebrities, don’t you? When I think of a national treasure I think of some historical artifact or great natural wonder found only on our continent. You guys think, “Benny Hill. That’s what we’ve got.”
I was extremely lucky to have caught this during its initial run in Peru. Since I did not speak a word of Spanish (I was on vacation after contracting on the docks of Bolivia), I initially thought I was watching a porno. Little did I know I'd be in for a full-on feast of fantastic, fear-filling, foot-fighting horror. I'm glad the newer generation is getting to witness this masterpiece. And in English this time as well!
Have you heard of knuckle sandwich? I’m assuming it’s either a made up version of that, or the British spin off (I’m not too familiar with their phrases and sayings over there....)
The funny part is that this is some of the best writing on the whole show in a show, and yet delivered so atrociously. Especially after the aside that led up to it.

They could definitely do a "40th anniversary special" or something. It would totally play with the compendium episodes. Even the Dean Learner talk show was amazing.
I love that Dean Learner says that the episodes would be "up to 8 minutes under" so they would use excessive slow-motion. Then you have Thornton Reed, whose lines are vomitted out faster than you can keep up, lol.

Love that poor film timing can double up as perfect comedic timing like that haha.

This show is so good at being bad.
You cut the best part:
“Understood?”
“Crystal”

The best bit is just after this when the shovel turns back into a cup so that he can crush it.
Spoiler alert...
I was waiting for the cup crushing moment. So dramatic XD
I like when he puts his hand up and then down, and the camera pans but it’s too slow to catch it
He’s particularly observant.
I like it when after Reed says “understood?” Dag goes “as crystal” like Reed should have said “is that clear?” But they all fluffed it up 😂
"I've yet to see any demons on the ward, and I'm particularly observant."
Well that settles it then.

Walter White's "I am the one who knocks" is now the second greatest monologue ever committed to film.

So unfortunate that only Peru got those 60+ episodes.
This show was genius. I watch it every year.
So many great moments to choose from in this show, but my absolute favourite has to be when that shovel randomly appears. Great stuff hahaha
Ignore the bloody shovel. He was using that to tunnel his ass out of Won Ton's bad graces, you dig?
I simply cannot believe this is only 31 seconds
Richard is a total gem....
Don’t mind me. I’m just waiting for the algorithm to pop off and show this to thousands of new people

“You’ll get a knuckle supper” is the most Richard Ayoade thing that I’ve heard in a long time.
