Just an interesting observation, if you adjust the repeater on the back of the droppers it affects the number of times the dropper can fire and therefore the amount of gold that is fired, this can be used for when you don't want 24 piglins: 4 ticks = 2 fires = 6 gold = 6 piglins 3 ticks = 3 fires = 9 gold = 9 piglins 2 ticks = 4 fires = 12 gold = 12 piglins 1 tick = 8 fires = 24 gold = 24 piglins *note: Logic has it set to 1 tick by default
That's amazing. I was going to build this but 24 piglin seemed a bit too overkill for a single player, as well as 20 double chests for each blackstone and gravel. I will build it with 9 piglin then.
The best farms, tweaked for efficiency, simplified for ease of building and use, and explained so well that anyone can understand how it works. This puts you above and beyond most others on youtube. Thank you for all the work you put in these!
works well! if you are in a paper server or any server with item stacker give the hopper clock a little bit more delay like 25 or 26 items and cover all sides of slime blocks with leaves or else you end up wasting some gold ! if this comment was useful like it so others can see that as well !
Literally just finished my gold farm and was needing a good bartering farm that isn't the insane gnembon one. Logic always coming in clutch with these tutorials.
I know the Legacy videos take a lot of time to cater to a larger audience with something technical, some building, some storyline, and some advancements. The work put into them clearly shows. I'm the type of player who pretty much just goes for Minecraft mechanics though and am very excited to see the classically elegant logic farms returning!
Logic, your tutorials are amazing - not only great step-by-step instructions, but you actually explain how they work, which I feel like most tutorials are lacking. Thank you!
I have about 0.75 brain cells, so it took me awhile in survival. I first had all the initial redstone components one block too high, then one block too far back, so I had to redo all that twice. Finally I got it right but the droppers weren’t firing so I went into your world download and discovered I had forgotten a repeater and messed up the placement of a small thing. What I’m trying to say is not only are your tutorials great, but the world downloads are an absolute LIFESAVER
Thank you very much for the brilliant tutorial. For anyone else whos slime blocks get stuck together when first trying run it back sure all your repeaters are timed properly. I had missed setting one to 4 ticks.
It's worth mentioning that it takes around 50 minutes to finish all the gold(if the chest+hoppers+droppers are full). It also needs 121 stacks of ingots or 13.5 gold block to fill it.
Just finished building this farm in my survival and it works hella fine! Added shulker loaders under the filters (except for potion and other "garbage" stuff) for more storage. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you so much! I was designing my own and about to build it in my SMP, but yours is just so much more space-efficient. I will be building yours instead, so thank you!
Perfect tutorial. Thanks for showing and explaining the farm before you build. Some other people don’t even show the build before they start the tutorial
Very good design and a golden middle between something like gnembons bartering farm and multi cell designs with single pigling enclosure. Hint: when the chest gets empty, after some time you will have gold only in lowest dropper because it is supplied by most hoppers with their storage capacity.
Oh boy, Today I build this farm. I had to build a tree farm first to get all those hoppers/chests. the build-part was not too bad but those Piglins where annoying as hell. But now it is all done and I am AFKing at my gold farm. Thanks for sharing!
I actually did the maths on the piglin bartering rates for my own bartering farm project and the exact number is 3,449(.673202614379) items per hour per piglin. Glad to see your empirical testing showed this was accurate! Also, you're using 24 piglins here to presumably get the maximum possible without entity cramming, but another good number to aim for (for a slightly smaller farm) is 15 because it turns out that's how many you need to process gold ingots dispensed at exactly hopper speed.
Hi Logic, great tutorial and awesome design, like always. I have one minor improvement. You can put the hopperline that sends the item to the next chest when its full (4th from the top) one higher. In that way you can save some iron or put 7 instead of 6 chests in a row.
Great farm, just finished building it in survival. Might mention it needs 1 extra iron nugget and 1 extra string column as there is a slight bit of overflow in the boots/books chest at the end. other than that it works perfectly, cheers.
I really love your tutorials and videos in general. I think I found you through DocM77 mentioning you in one of his videos and since then I started to watch half of you "road to hermitcraft" and the entire Legacy SMP 2 series. And it is so cool to see how you style has improved over time. Your content is amazing. If I look for a farm to build and I have more than one to choose I always look at yours first.
Absolutely love using this farm on Legacy, and happy there's a tutorial for it! It's a great combination of being absolutely nuts, but still practical to build. Thank you for the tutorial Logic!
This is brilliant! Such a good tutorial and an elegant set up. I have a manual bartering set up which I've been wanting to convert - this will be the design 👍
1:41 How do you manage to have the Piglin on top of the carpet and yet able to seal off the ceiling of the chamber? When I don't have the carpet, the Piglin can't pick up the item (even with a glass roof), but when I put the carpet down, I can no longer put the ceiling back in due to the Piglin's collision. Edit: I did manage to figure it out shortly after posting. You need to drop them into the chamber with a minecart, seal it shut, then remove one of the bottom blocks of the walls to punch out the minecart.
Great tutorial, I've been trying to build one of those for myself, with mixed success. I'll definitely be taking some inspiration from your build! :) But If I may, Piglins can also spawn in the Nether Wastes, contrary to what you said at 20:29. I've built mine in that biome. Of course, there's also the bastion, but then you'd have to deal with brutes.
Yup - I built a small spawning platform above the Nether Wastes roof and spawned in plenty of piglins. I used turtle eggs to attract and drop the zombified piglins to their death to separate them from the piglins.
I appreciate you so much Logic! I watch a lot of tutorials, but yours are always the best. You may talk fast but you are still very easy to understand (:o)
For anyone like me who likes to use splash potions of fire resistance, just replace the dispensor that destroys them with a dropper, as you only need to add redstone to make them 8:00 potions, whereas if you convert the others to splash potions you need redstone + gunpowder, just saves resources :)
1.18.1 Does work! Java Paper server As EhsanND said in his comment, put 26 items in the hopper clock, and cover the pistons and slime blocks with leaves! Great farm
we also can fill the item sorter's highest hopper with 11filter blocks for each column(so there are 44 items in the hopper) so that only 1 wanted-filter item in the 1st column and able to prevent overflow
1.20.1 Does Work confirmed. Adjustments may be needed if your server has item stacking. Also, I'm noticing some overflow in the last chest row, not sure if that used to be there in 1.18 or not.
It works well. Got to be precise with the Piglin prison part though. One wrong put piece of glass and they all burst out when you turn it on. If I were to build this again I'd use more glass just to make sure.
hey so i know this is really late, but i did some testing cause this happened with mine as well. I accidently broke the entire farm while doing this lmao so be careful. Basically just add the leaf blocks on top of your piglin holder (mine has a trapdoor as the top so i put it on the trap door) also put them under the slime blocks, and the blocks on the left of those. Make sure not to put the blocks on top or on any side of the slime blocks though or else it will break the farm and all the piglins will escape. Essentially, just put leaf blocks everywhere that looks like the items are spitting out EXCEPT THE SLIME BLOCKS. DO NOT COVER ANY SURFACE OF THEM. hope this helps anyone :)
Since we have allays and we can use them in athis system you can add them in the setup to sort the books and boots. Thank you for this amazing and simple bartering farm Logic. I don't need to go minng for quartz and killing animals for leather ever!
why arent my items making it all the way down? I've used blue ice but for some reason they arent moving fully down the blue ice highway. please help me someone
Thank you so much for doing this video! I asked for it when you did the showcase on the legacy smp sever. I got some hate asking for it, but I hope that you doing this gives you great reviews and lots of love! Great farm, and great video with explanation. I love learning from all of you content creators! (Edited for typo)
Thank you for the tip because I love splash potions, they don't clog up your inventory with empty bottles. Would you, by chance, know how to filter out the water bottles?
Hey Logic, I’ve just built this and it’s great but I do get the odd piece of string in the book and armour chests. Not a big deal but thought you might want to know.
My current bartering setup uses 3 piglins but with an extra 0.8 second delay added to limit it below 9000 items per hour. Might try building this at some point though
You could even sort out the boots with a furnace I believe. Wouldn't be the most worth it since if you're building this you most likely have an iron farm, but would be more books.
The piston pushing solution is simply inspired. I was doing a mega base using quartz as the main material several months ago and ran into this problem a lot, boy do I wish I had this back then. Would've been simpler than the mess I made. If you need a ton of the items from these guys, I highly recommend plugging this bartering system below Gnembon's gold farm. You'll still need to convert a lot of the ingots by hand, but the output is mental, even with just the bars that drop from killing them by hand. I still don't understand how the piglins aren't getting pushed into the leaf blocks, tho, is it cus the slime blocks aren't full blocks so they act the same way as glass and they clip into it?
Just built this in survival. Items from dropper falling onto the slime block are being ejected out the back of the piglin chamber when it retracts. Have tried adding extra blocks behind the chamber but still ejecting some items. This could be because I only have 4 piglin loaded so far, 24 items might be picked up by the piglins before slime blocks have a chance to move. Tried checking and adjusting timings and found a timing which worked, Edit: lost two piglins swapping the leaf block over the slime with crying obsidian. RIP Sir Edmund Barter and Bartered Toast
I’d recommend testing the world download as it will work. Then compare you build with it. If you have less than 24 piglins then the extra gold should go across the ice with the other items.
To people losing gold to this farm: I've seen a few comments about people saying they are losing gold in the farm, and there are many solutions to that in this comment section. But if your number of gold dispensed and piglins don't match, then yes you can throw away gold. But an easier option than many of the things listed here, is simply to add another filter for gold. It can just be pushed on the ice and caught by a hopper like anything else.
Wouldn't the Blackstone overflow end up in the last sorting system instead of the fire because there's no filter on that system? In other words, what keeps overflow items out of the non stackable item silos?
If the armor and book chest wasn't filled up yet then yes any overflow would end up there. However those chests fill up extremely quick cuz everything's non-stackable. And once it's full everything goes to lava
would be nice to show where the items come in from at the start so that those of us with a gold farm know where to really start the build. Other than that, good stuff!
Great tutorial, clever gold distribution. ~~One thing: Looks like in the 1st pre-built version you use a DISPENSER instead of a DROPPER for the potions which discards all the splash potions. In the tutorial a DROPPER is used here, which makes more sense.~~ (oh you explain that)
I've featured your farm in my latest Redstone video, where I tackle the problem of having ridiculous many potions with only 3 minute duration; I've made a machine to automate the extension process. 🤘
Just an interesting observation, if you adjust the repeater on the back of the droppers it affects the number of times the dropper can fire and therefore the amount of gold that is fired, this can be used for when you don't want 24 piglins:

2 ticks = 4 fires = 12 gold = 12 piglins

*note: Logic has it set to 1 tick by default
Thank you for this!

That's amazing. I was going to build this but 24 piglin seemed a bit too overkill for a single player, as well as 20 double chests for each blackstone and gravel. I will build it with 9 piglin then.

Very useful
a) did u do 25 or 26 when you built it? or does it rlly matter? and b) is that 25/26 more items or just 25/26 total
Literally just finished my gold farm and was needing a good bartering farm that isn't the insane gnembon one. Logic always coming in clutch with these tutorials.

Made this on a server in 2024. Only had to adjust the hopper clock slightly (27 items instead of 22) and it works perfectly. Love it.
Logic, your tutorials are amazing - not only great step-by-step instructions, but you actually explain how they work, which I feel like most tutorials are lacking. Thank you!
Totally agree with @schadvick. Logic's calling is bridging the gap between Sci-Craft and Hermitcraft. We need "Beyond Logic" season 2!

@Ahmad Ansari nice, I would say Gnembon, LogicalGeekBoy, Ilmango and RaysWorks r the 4 greatest minecraft tutorial channels (for farms and stuff)

Easily the best bartering farm on TH-cam given the ease of construction/use to output ratio. Couldn't be happier with this setup. Thanks, Logic!
Only 5 days and impulse watched it, made the farm, recorded the episode, edited the video and published it. Jesus Christ

As always, Logic´s tutorials are one of the best. keep up the great work.
By the way, works great in 1.19.2.
And this is why you're so amazing! Taking a complex farm and explaining it so the average person can easily have a go at it. Thank you Logic
It's worth mentioning that it takes around 50 minutes to finish all the gold(if the chest+hoppers+droppers are full).

You know a farm is good if it needs multiple ways to deal with production overflow.
