  • Theraband Gold Review and Speed Test
    In this video I will review Theraband gold. With a taper of 24-12 and maxed out elongation I will test the speed, draw weight, penatration and overall feel of the bands.

      Lol its true it doesn't have that nasty funk about it like some other bands. I was surprised with the speeds too. 24-12 shoot really nice and I bet you in temps around 24°c these 8mm steel will be screaming fast.

    Hi great video, EXCELLENT shooting. I had a question and I know your busy and if you can't answer thats fine, I recently pulled out my old cobra sling shot ( i love that nostalgic platform) and placed a TBG on ( 20 -25 mm the description of the bands said) her and she performed astonishingly well (7 inch cut) now as of today after only a dozen or so shots with 8 inch steel balls one band snapped. Should I double the band or adjust the length? Any longer I'd have to be 6'6 I'm 5'8.. Thanks and Great vids as always

    I call it Theraband Mustard. And I love it. We have to understand its elongation-force characteristic. It is different. But when I cut the right size, it works exactly as good (in good weather) as any hyped flatband. And it has fragnance - while the others smell. :))

    • @ATOMark
      @ATOMark  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup true. They seem to shoot really well in normal weather but they do not like the cold. All the theraband i have tried before shooting this video was pre-made over built stupid heavy bands. Which honestly made me not like them. After trying my own cuts I am pretty impressed with them. They shoot better than some modern bands....... oh ya I agree 100% they are the best smelling bands on the market.

    • @brian6391
      @brian6391 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly theraband is all about the proper taper you can dramatically effect how fast or slow you’re shooting by which angle you cut it at. I cut some bands fat as rock tossers and others are what I call petites or fast bands and they’re one mil by two mil and they’re more snappy and accurate.

    • @brian6391
      @brian6391 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya they really do dip in performance in the cold. I have to say though. After trying one of my tapers and not double bands or monster tapers. I like them. If I can get them at a good price I would shoot them more often. I wouldn't mind trying some of the other bands and testing them out.

    Theraband gold , that was blast from the past . Be interested to hear how you find they compare to modern bands long term . I always used to find they just kept elongating with use and I'd have keep re-tying them to get back to the right draw length .

    • @ATOMark
      @ATOMark  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I found that was happening with this set too. I did my 20 or so shots to warm up the bands snd when I speed tested them they had a little more stretch. I wonder if they compare to bands made specifically for slingshots like GZK or Simpleshot bands. I've seen some professionals like Chris (on his youtube channel) talking about their incomparibility to modern bands...one thing to say is that theraband gold have long life and resistance to the hot weather here in north African. • @ATOMark
      @ATOMark  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with Chris. Modern bands are much better. Gold does not compare to snipersling, simpleshot or many others. 2 problems I see with them is. They really slow down in cold weather and they continue to stretch. So your active band length gets longer and longer. Theraband are not the worst bands I have tried.

    Thanks for the test. When l started shooting slingshot again l got a 5 yard roll of Theraband Gold. Now with your video l look at it in better light. I did not measure it but l still have over 3 yards of it with me. I use a 25 15 template to make my bands. I don't max them out, about 16.5 cm active draw length. Around 80-85% l guess.
