I was in 8th grade when these came out. The whole junior high basketball team had these. Not a Jordan in sight.
Man I straight up remember when these joints first came out in 89, i was 9 years old and everyone on the block swore these things made you jump an extra foot. They were really one of the main shoes that made me a sneaker head, these and the 4’s. Straight nostalgia right here.

Yes, I had a pair of Omni Zone Reebok pumps in 1992. It took my birthday/Christmas/months of lawn mowing money combined to buy them; those things were a fortune for a 12 year old and we never had that sort of money so I had to save for a long time. I remember the shop not having my size and having to wait three weeks for them to arrive which seemed like forever! Mine were white with purple accents on the eyelets. The soles were similar design with the herringbone but had Reeboks energy return system 'ERS' in them not Hexalite. They were polyurethane though back in the day man. I remember my soles crumbled to dust eventually and ERS system fell out. I was never so excited about getting a shoe before or since. I would definitely for nostalgia get a pair in a white colour way. Thanks for the memories.
I have a retro of that same shoe/colourway bro. From the 20th anniversary ten years ago. It's the omni zone 1 from the fall of 1990. The omni zone 2 that came out in 91 was the first to use hexalite instead. I love the ers models. 👍

They were $170 in 1990 when they first came out. 89/90..crazy expensive even today

So good seeing these...It was 1990, I was 13 years old and my Mom took me on my first trip to the USA from UK. We were staying with family friends in Philadelphia and for the two weeks I was there I was playing basketball with my brother and some kids around the way with this little mini basketball we'd bought. I was super excited when Mom let me choose a pair of trainers from foot locker and I went straight for a pair of Reebok pumps cause the pump thing was so cool then and we didn't have anything at all like that back in England. I used to love pumping those things up...when I got back home and went back to school I was the absolute man wearing those shoes! Memories :-)
I see all these shoes and basketball classics (notably the uptempos, not talking jordans) which I cannot afford. But watching these videos makes it feel so nice to see how they would look
I have a cool memory with these pumps. Now I was in 7th grade and this kid next to me had them on and I was like wow! They so cool. I had British Knights on. Then a week later....he takes them back for a pair of Jordan 5 Fire reds. I was like this kid is Rich and so lucky.....we became friends and that's when my love for sneakers began! I own the fire reds now from last year's drop and now copped the pumps through Finish line this week. 7th grade shoe dreams shoes are copped now! Happy man! Thanks for you awesome videos!
You’re show was the first I heard of the Pump re-release 😪😪😪 I had the white and purple back in the day, they were one of my most comfortable shoes ever, but they didn’t last long. Oooh! Pumps! Growing up during the mid-80s and 90s Reebok was my favourite coz they were the ones killing it. It takes me back to my college years. The sheer joy we used to derive showing off the Pump mechanism in college was indescribable. Since you touched upon Blacktops, I have a pair each of Blacktop Boulevard and Blacktop Battleground 'Tribal'. ;)

Fun fact, my coach vetoed me wearing these when we played on terf, for football, because it was a "basketball shoe." I was bummed. Great review bruh! I'm hoping Reebok does more of the originals. Definitely a blast from the past. When I was a kid my mom bought me a pair of white pumps on clearance that wasn't my size. I hit on a 10.5 but was trying for a 10. These were definitely in higher demand than I anticipated.
Kids won't understand how huge these were. I had a friend who got a pair and I can't describe how jealous I was. And still am. And always will be because I'm sure I'll never be able to get a pair.

loved my pair like a family member. tied my laces really loose then pumped to fit & as my feet expanded I'd let air out for comfort. Unfortunately they were stolen and I was devastated.

The white and orange 1 was the first cool shoe my mom bought me next to L.A. Gear. My lil butt was so cool i had to have orange and white laces laced in at the same time cuz thats how L.A. Gear did their shoes and i was in elementary school. Also the Ultimate Warrior had what i thought was multiple colorful shoe laces tied around his biceps 💪 and i wanted to be a badazz like him, so my colorful shoelaces was a nod to the man, the myth, the warroir. So when ur wearing ur Reebok pumps remember we are hear to PUMP you up!!! Oh and yes i remeber Popples, my sister had them didnt they turn into a ball or pillow or something like that 🤔

My older brother had an OG pair of pumps when I was little. Too little to have cool shoes. When I saw Reebok got Shaq and AI on board I ordered a pair of the pumps IMMEDIATELY. bringing back all the nostalgia. Glad they came back now that I’m an adult 😂

On my 1st year in college my PE was basketball & my cousin gifted me his pair of reebok pumps. Never stopped playing hoops since then. This was way back in 94. Really dig the nostalgia angle as growing up in Australia there were very minimal choices in Jordans, Reebok Pumps etc. They were hella expensive too like $350 plus in 1991. The passion you show as well as honesty is refreshing. It has made me pull my multiple pairs of 90's og jordans and bnib of omni zones out of their box to appreciate them after being boxed and bagged for 25 plus years Much love from Melbourne , Australia.

I’ve been checking this channel for the last couple of weeks hoping that Chris would review them since they were already released in Australia back in February. What a pleasant surprise to see Chris giving this shoe the props it deserves. That means a lot to me, since I had a pair of Omni Lites in this colour way back in 91. Back then it was Reebok vs Nike and even though I was a Nike fan you had to admit Reebok dominated with The Pump. I have two pairs of these coming my way, I cannot wait to rep them all over again.

I'm a 90's kid, just like Chris, these bring back so many memories, as many other kids' parents, mine couldn't afford these joints back in the day and I had to settle for the L.A. Gear lights; 90's sneakers were better constructed than the current ones. Why do you think they retro "old" shoes? They're just cool and timeless.

I’m big fan of the PUMP platform. I had to get the Omni Zone 2s after I saw Dee Brown in the dunk contest. My favorite was the Pump Paydirt, which was Emmitt Smith’s cross training shoe. I also had several pair of Furys. I even had a pump weight lifting belt and the pump inflator which used the CO2 cartridges to inflate later model sneakers. Welcome back.
Just like Simon Phoenix says to John Spartan “ it’s a blast from the past”…I love those shoes., my dad bought me the pump shoes in black back in early 90’s., wore them / rock them in the Manila., I was the only kid who had them shoes. dang!!!! I was in college., but when I move here in Vancouver it only last for about 9 more months until it started to degrade, crumble, shatters., what I didn’t think to do was to save it and have the outsole replace now., but it’s all gone now., and I’m hunting for the dee browns. I don't recall which model I had but in the early 90s my parents hooked me up with Reebok pump gear. I know there was an everyday shoe that was white, my little league cleats were a pump model, & I even had a crossover reebok x rawlings baseball glove! This is probably my favorite tech from my elementary school era right after LA Gear light up sneakers. LOL

I remember wanting these so bad after seeing John Cena wrestle in them. I had a few pairs of pumps including the iverson models where it had a little knob that you turned, and it started to inflate while you started walking….I still have my this model when they released it again back in 2010 or so.
Kevin had em. 7th grade. I tried so many times to finagle my parents into buying me a pair of Pumps.....any Pumps. ALMOST got my mom to buy me a pair I found in the women's section at a lower price (still way more than any shoes I had). My Dad caught it last minute and said no way. Finally restored a pair about a year ago, but if I wear em anymore the leather is going to come apart. That said, still on the mission for these.....wish me luck. :)

Amazing video and amazing shoes once again! Rumour has it that the Blacktops are coming back too. Reebok Pump Blacktop Battleground 1991 are on its way back, probably later this year.
