Gas / LP cooling is not working, but 110v shore power works? Dometic 2652 Check light is ON too.

  • The check light won't go out so that means the Propane cooling is not working. Dometic 2652 fridge troubleshooting revealed it was a control panel issue. I replaced the control panel and all is normal again.
    Before assuming it is the control panel, check your wiring coming from your control panel for continuity. Is the Ignitor spark working? Do you have propane and is it on? Is the burner area full of junk and needs cleaned out for a flame?
    I searched MANY TH-cam videos, but didn't find one on replacing the control board for this problem. The AC from shore power kept the fridge working but the LP gas was not working.
    I'm no technician, so this is what I did and I don't recommend you follow this video to repair your own unit if you aren't qualified to do so. It worked for me, hope it will help you out.
    Checking for different issues, good video. This was a wiring problem:

    Like someone else commented, being able to work on your own RV is saving you not only money but down time to get repaired. A lot of people would need to haul to a repair shop, rent hotel room, pay for meals and wait for repair to be done. EXPENSIVE!! As much as you hate to fix things be happy you are handy enough, and smart enough to do so. Thanks again for another informational video and I hope you can move to greener, quieter area soon. Boone

      Hi Boone. Yes, saving money is one facet to this of course. Being able to fix it myself is another. Most of these 'tasks' are easy to a degree and I'm willing to try at least once. LOL I hope it helps someone out there at least, that's the whole purpose of the video. Moving on May 1. Who knows what awaits out there in Covidland. LOL Thanks. Michael

    Hello Great video. I have a sister to your Rockwood 2109s the Flagstaff 21fbrs. I really appreciate your videos. I just pulled mine out of storage and found I had a leak on my toilet valve input. Since I watched your toilet replacement video recently, I know what to do. I just walked in from working on it now. I have not yet explored my refrigerator. I very much enjoyed your tips knowledge and advice as you toured me through your frige repair because it surly identical in my rig. Thanks again - Take care.

    I have that same unit bought new in spring 2000. My problem is the *check* light comes on at random. I suspect that board because it worked fine until I was working on my batteries right before a trip and some weird stuff happened because I forgot to disconnect my solar panels. I hooked batteries back up and my propane detector was having a fit then I realized my master switch was still off.....then I figured out I never killed the solar feed doh. It was overcast so output would have been really low. My flame looks great and checked some other stuff. I hate to just change parts but suspect that board has a small issue.

    • @garlandstyle5797
      @garlandstyle5797  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might just check the wiring connections in back of the fridge outside. My light came on and stayed on, no flickering or changing. If you get a chance, I'd get an extra board before they are no longer available. I've considered checking out salvage yards where I see campers of a similar age. But it wasn't that expensive. Leaving the solar on should not matter at all. Once I leave on a trip, the solar is on constantly until I get home. Never hurts, as the controller will determine when to charge or not. Good luck. Happy camping.

    Sheesh that sure sucks to have to replace it...but you are such a Mr. Fixit!!!🏆👍‼️ I miss your travel video and all the fauxpas you'd make😅🤣always had a chuckle!😍🙋‍♀️🇨🇦❤‼️just found out the area I live(Vancouver Island) is going on stay at home lockdown again... 31 people died of covid out of 870k since this began. Our government even put on our cdc website to have a board with a hole in it(strategically placed) for sex!? I wish this insanity was over but lamestream media keeps fear mongering with cases instead of actual hospitalizations.(3%of the cases)they are attacking Christians too now. Jailed a preacher for holding church service plus put up 2 layers of fencing around his church, even tho its proven that there was only 1 case of covid happen. Ya, locked him up for 25days and the released him..no charges. But mosques are full. Hubby got police called on him at the gas station for no mask. But FULL shut down again..no leaving your home. And as long as the sheeple let this happen, then the next phase is take the vax or you go into the covid camps(which are already being used)

    Hello, very helpful video. I have a rm2852 and my problem is it is not cooling when plugged in to power and it just keeps trying to light the LP cause i hear it snapping. And it lights when LP is on but it is still in Auto mode and gas off. Check light keeps coming on. Does it Sound like it could be control board? Thank you

      Check the wiring first and any fuse that may cause an issue when using 12volt or shore power. If you have a multimeter, you can check the continuity on the electrical lines (disconnect from shore power and turn OFF the battery switch first of course) from the control board. Keep searching YT for any other trouble shooting videos on this fridge as well. Of course, my issue was the opposite of yours, but it sounds like a fuse or disconnected wire somewhere. Good luck.

    That fuse could only be for the D/C portion part of the unit. . It’s a 5 amp fuse.

    • @garlandstyle5797
      @garlandstyle5797  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a breaker / fuse on the panel inside the camper, under the fridge. There is a 15 amp breaker for the fridge. Flip it off and back on and see if that is giving any power issues to the Refrigerator. It should be marked REFER. That would be my next suggestion. I'm uncertain how you test those though.
