    Doing my first one this year. Excited to rip down heartbreak and get heckled.
    I just saw. 5:13 minutes! Dang that's really good!

    Hi Clint, been watching your vids for about 2 years now. After watching this ORAMM recap several times now, in particular, it's inspired me to do the 2019 ORAMM, so I registered yesterday! it's out of my comfort zone, but heck, that's what training is for!

    The new gopro7 already has that capability of gimbal. Great vid Clint. I am doing this race next year.

    I rode this on a rigid SS in 2009. 7 hours 49 minutes. Great race. Nice footage.

    Beside the stamina, it's great to see how well you ride on downhill sections, without skidding or taking unnecessary risks, the correct use of brakes and choice of the lines, it's very helpful!

    Great footage and narration as always 😊 Would it be better on an all mountain/enduro bike you'll save plenty of energy and time on those long decents ...???

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The descents would definitely have been more fun. But the climbing was so much that it could have been quite a bit slower overall. But I still may try it one year.

    Considering that t storm that hit, the hold up strength of the trails should be a testament to bike haters. One of my favorite vids

    I liked 1:23.. When you describe a significant mud slide as a tree down.

    Hi, Clint. What is a heckler (about 18:00), pls ? Also, You just fly on those descents, crazy ! Great, great job You are doing with this channel.

      Heh, I thought it was a word for some type of terrain, not an actual heckler.

      It was a group of people hanging out on a very technical section waiting for a victim. Quite funny actually.

    Great riding! Especially downhill on your Niner RKT. 71 degree head angle. Maybe just a bit better with 120 mm fork.

    Thank you, Clint, for recently reviewing the Birzman Clam disc tool. In the past my XTRs have been quite fiddly to centre after fitting new pads. I bought a Birzman tool today on the strength of your review, and it was simplicity itself. Just one attempt and that was it - no rubbing.
    Incidentally, while on the subject of brakes, what is your opinion on, or experience of, sintered versus resin pads? I prefer the latter - quieter and better modulation. Thanks again.

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great! Resin pads feel better but don't last as long. Metallic pads have more power and fade less. unless you ride in really wet and muddy conditions I think resin are going to be better because of the feel.

    Clint, you mentioned in the video that you have 50 SRAM Eagle X01 in the back; what size of chainring do you have? 32T? Thanks. Marek

    Hey Clint, I’m doing Oramm this year and I was just watching your video. Trying to determine if I need a dropper post for this race, specifically heartbreak ridge.. I have one but I don’t normally use it where I live here on the East Coast of North Carolina. Did you run one for this race?

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not but it would make for a more enjoyable descent.

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think about 28 out of almost a hundred in my class. Endurance racing isn't my strongest suit but still enjoy it

    Great footage Clint... Curious... So when I see your footage in Florida it looks fairly tame compared to this. After riding in Florida and training for the Alps, how does it feel to ride in much more rocky and technical trails? What makes you confident to be able to do it? And, where have you ridden recently to prepare as seemingly you didnt have time to prepare but you still looked very comfortable on this trail. How did you get there? Thanks in advance for your answers I got gashed also by a pinned pedal and will never ride again without shin guards and knee pads on any trail. No more scars for me. GReat job of riding!

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    How did the wheels hold up??? I would have been sore for days after doing long intense descents like that - wouldn't have been able to do the climbs :P

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wheels did great. I'll be doing the full review on them in the next few weeks.

    Great video! How much climbing did your garmin measure for the whole race?

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      7,503... But it probably miss some when it did the auto pause on the tight switchbacks

  • @RealMJSr
    @RealMJSr 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How tough would that race be on a trail bike?

    • @ClintGibbs
      @ClintGibbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually thought about doing it. I think you probably be about 45 minutes to an hour slower but you have a lot more fun on the descents. Maybe next year I'll try!
