The San Diego subdivision is a 41 mile long rail line in San Diego County, stretching from San Clemente to Downtown San Diego. It is a very scenic line, paralleling the ocean and crossing coastal lagoons for much of it's route. The line is owned and operated by North County Transit District, and is one of the busiest passenger rail corridors in the country.
This scene shows two Coaster trains crossing the Torrey Pines State Park marsh and meeting at Sorrento Valley. Once an idyllic valley surrounding by rolling hills, today the area is dotted by commercial parks and tech campuses, and the Sorrento Valley Coaster station is a busy stop for commuters.
