1. Stardew Valley (I moved around accs and switches but for sure between 500-1000)
2. Story of Seasons: Pionners of Olive Town with 150+ hours
3. Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life with 75+ hours
(I don't consider Acnh a farming game since it was added quite late but I have over 2k hours in that game)

From highest played, I played Animal crossing with 540+ hours then stardew with around 250. Both of those were done when the games were in their prime. Then Disney dream night valley with 230+ hours , 147 with my time at Portia and Graveyard keeper with 93 hours

Awesome video! I found you in my Olive town era, and have enjoyed all your videos ever since. I have 885 hours in animal crossing, 820 in Dreamlight Valley, 188 in Coral Island, 130 in Olive town & the Wonderful life remake, and 100 in Paleo Pines.

This was such a good video! ACNH is definitely my top played game, along with Stardew Valley
I have 1,865 hours in Stardew Valley, it's the game I keep coming back to. I highly recommend the Expanded mod and I can't wait for the 1.6 update! My next most played are My Time at Portia (599 hours) and Graveyard Keeper (563 hours).

I've played a pretty big variety of games outside of farming games, but I'll see if I can figure out a top list a little later also! I wanted to mention Exophase, which is an excellent way to track your Switch playtime more accurately. The downside is you have to open games outside of your last 20 in order to update them into the list, but it still works so much better than the Switch tracker. It's just a little bit of time doing the setup.
I do know PoOT and ACNH have a lot of hours in my list too. I'm surprised FoMT didn't make your list!

I only have about 40 hours in FoMT, I think it released when I didn't have as much time to play games!

Thanks for this video❤Have some new on my list now. AC is still number one for me too with alot of Switches because of my AC addiction. Have more than 2000 hours only on one island and many other islands with hundreds of hours, and only played it since Christmas last year🙈After I got sick and don’t singing/making music I can use my creativity in AC. I also made an island after founding my mother unexpected dead. It’s a trauma and the game was helping me healing when I was making her an Island “Afterlife”. So strange it stopped counting your hours. Pioneer of Olive town is so underrated, it’s my number 2. And that was the game that took me here and I’m so happy I found you. I love to watch your gameplays. You’re my TH-camr number 1❤❤❤
Pioneers of olive town gets a lot of hate in the community but finally someone shows it some love I love this game. This and stardew and pacha are my favorite games on my switch

I found you through RF5! I was having soooooo much trouble with decorating, and it was your tip for breaking furniture and reloading that worked for me :D I'm a bit surprised that neither FOMT nor RF4S are on the list - did you not pick up the remakes?
Edit: OK, I looked up my own play times: 198 hrs on Disney Dreamlight Valley and 78 hrs on Stardew Valley are my most played on Steam, and then 170 hrs on SoS POOT, 120 hrs RF5, 140 hrs RF4S, 140 hrs My Time at Sandrock, 120 hrs SoS FOMT, and 30 hrs in Faefarm. Does DQ Builders count? Because I have nearly 130 hrs in DQB2 as well - it's not a farming sim, but there's lots of building and crafting, so if we're counting the My Time series maybe DQB counts too?
Sadly, My Time at Portia and Animal Crossing are missing data because I changed Switch and the times reset, but they both have over 100 hrs as well.
Awesome video! I’m patiently waiting until I can either get a steam deck or have sun haven and coral island come to the switch, same with dinkum! I really want to play them.
My most played farming sim is Stardew Valley for about 400+ hours on PC and switch. Most of this is with my bf since it was one of the main games we played together when we were long distance, but we can’t stay away and always circle back to this game, whether mods, playing with friends, taking our switches on the go, and even working on perfection, I don’t think I’ll ever truly stop playing stardew 😊 other than that, most farming sim games I’ve played tend to hover around 100 hours or so, Wylde flowers being the one I’m currently working on since I restarted to play the story again and see what they added with all the updates naturally
Not actually farming but I'm seriously addicted to mineko's night market right now on gamepass.

I really liked this video. I am surprised that you played so little of Stardew Valley, it would be lovely if you started a new playthrough when 1.6 comes out. I will too and I would love to see you explore it as well, especially since it sounded like you also missed 1.5, so there will be so much new for you to do. Time to get up those play time number!
I'm definitely behind, there is a lot of new content for me in SDV! I played a bit of the 1.5, but most of my playtime was in 1.0, so I'm not familiar with much of the content that was added.

If I see a nice game with farming elements, the first thing I do is to look for your opinion about it😂, because you always feel the same way about games like me. ❤😅 I got Everdream valley today on the switch although you didn't liked it that much and I am completely overwhelmed and the camera setup is "challenging", but I will see if I can get more out of it because I like very bright colourful games so much.
THIS is the video I want, I want to know what actually takes time out of a gamers day to play significantly more than other titles.
I spend more time modding SDV than actually playing it 😂 I play for like 10 hours or so and stop. When I open the game next time I feel like checking for new mods and restarting LOL
I don't have many hours in sdv either, I also love the original Harvest Moon/ Story of Seasons games a bit more for playing longterm.
But my personal faves are Sun Haven and Dinkum! So fun and easy to pick them up even after not playing them for a while

Awesome video Josh & keep up the good work & I have the most hours on Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town on my switch so far because that game already beat animal crossing new horizons hours & I did the most research of Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town from deep backstory from the bachelor & I know more about what actually happened in Olive Town before year one began & yes I have been doing the hold research of that game from last year in 2021 & if u have any question about story of seasons pioneers of olive town u got to ask me because I know everything about this game off by heart now☺️❤️

Checking my playtime (mainly on switch), Harvestella is my most played game, really and amazing and unfairly reviewed game on metacritic. Finished main story: I got all the jobs and I completed the bonus dungeon (I couldn't beat the last boss on floor 60 tough 😅) with 110 hours.
We share all four pixel art farming games but my favorite is kynseed i adore the beautifully done pixel art/water color looking combo, the story, the fae elements and all the fun minigames where i can choose what kind of shop i want to have if i want to have a shop i think that is so cool.

Surprised to see some lesser-known farming games here! I think the number of hours any person puts into their game can pretty much be the most honest testament to how much they enjoyed the games but I'm also glad that you're still open to criticizing their flaws and what stopped you from playing them haha. Out of curiosity, how many hours did you put in the Doraemon SoS games and Faefarm if that's okay to ask?
(Also the comments section really shouldn't give you so much flak for having low numbers on Stardew, those over 500-1k hours people put in Stardew alone are divided into soooo many farming games for you!)
I would never forget how extremely excited I was when the new content for Animal crossing was announced. The content with farming, cooking, and HHP. I literally went on a vacation leave on the day the content was added just so I could play all day. 😂

Mines definitely ACNH since thats included here. Completed the museum and nearly all the DIYs.
Then its probably like Dragon Quest Builders 2 (if that also counts or even Minecraft lol), Farming Simulator 15 and Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town.
I'm kinda of bummed with RuneFactory 4 and 5 as a Runefactory fan. I loved the first one and can't even describe how many hours I still put on it with my DS, lol. I also really enjoyed the first Wii version Frontier as well. I liked Tides of Destiny okay but really I feel they've gone away from the mechanics that made the game so fun. Harvestella seems to have buckled down on the right path and the way I though Rune Ractory was going to go. PocketPals actually reminds me of the OG Rune Factory game and I'd play it if it wasn't for the dissonance of the world and pals.
I love dinkum, me and my wife hard to move on with another game.

If you want to get back into stardew I recommend watching youtube content on it, it is super motivating! There's so many secrets in the valley and now the game even has ostriches and you can have dinosaurs on your farm as well, and with some friendship you can have blue chickens and black and gold chickens and eggs exists too. I also don't think you played far enough to have pigs yet, you need to experience the pigs and their truffles if you haven't already!
I did have a pig in my original save file! I also was almost done with the community center, I think the only item I was missing was the rabbit's foot. 😅 That was before any of the updates, so I figured I was mostly done and stopped playing at that point. Now, there's so much more to do!

I definitely have 400 hours on stardew Valley in 2020 but play time is probably half of what Is recorded on steam since I do afk in the game a lot.

I really want to try immortal life after watching your videos and SOS: A wonderful life. I have not reached end game for any of the games I've played so I feel bad about getting new games. 😅 watching your videos help.
My Time at Sandrock is the GOAT for me. As an avid rpg and farming sims game, this game has the best of both worlds for me. The main plot for me is a lot more interesting and works best with (sort of) farming mechanics. Harvestella storyline kind of takes away from the farming for me (it is a great game of course) but I feel that plot would work better as an action rpg.
I really wish I could have gotten into RF 5! I just can't for the life of me understand how to play the game... Like for some games I really need a hand to guide me to exactly where I need to go and what I need to do 😂 All this talk with PoOT makes me really wanna play it all over again! I still go back to play AWL as I adore that game so much! ACNH is still my most played game since 2021! I've restarted once and since having so many new games to play, I just struggle with going back to it!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one disappointed by Coral Island's 'full release.' TT_TT I didn't start playing until full release because that was the kickstarter tier I bought, only to find out the features I was most excited for (mermaid kingdom and mermaid marriage!!) weren't going to be implemented for a long while. My first week in the game was so buggy anyway that I just set it down to let it cook.
But! On my switch, my longest-played games are:

harvestella is very reminiscent of runefactory. that's another added to my wishlist.
I don't have the specific times for them but I'm pretty sure my top 3 would be Rune Factory 5 at #3, My Time at Sandrock at #2, and easily Rune Factory 4 at #1 (even though that's a ds game)
I LOVE My Time At Sandrock 😂 I have over 100 hours on it. I adore the story, characters, and the romance options.
(I stopped playing Coral Island too because it's not finished. I was really disappointed when they had the 1.0 release and the main quest wasn't finished. I might pick it back up when the big update comes out in a few months but idk, it depends on what others say, especially if theres a more complete story and such).
( 21:52 also if animal crossing dropped Zelda items I would totally pick it up again 😭 but noooo).

Similarly, I played Harvest Moon 64 soooo much, but there was no way to count back then. 😭 Glad to see Rune Factory 4 in number 1! It's so good but I need to give it more of my time!

I don't have my Switch on hand, so I can't say what my top 5 or 10 are...but I know that ACNH is the game I have played the most! (pretty sure after that are Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Violet...and I have a feeling that some HM/SoS games are in the top 10, as well as Ooblets and FaeFarm)
RF5 is so painfully underrated it makes me so sad
Harvestella would have been great if they voiced the cutscenes

Hokko life. My favorite game is animal crossing new horizons but I don’t really consider that a farming sim but if you do include it in my list too.
Animal crossing new horizons has a special place in my heart
My top 5 are:
1. ACNH 770 hours ( to me it's a farming game, I went crazy growing pumpkins )
2. Stardew Valley (107 h on steam, like 40 h on my xbox one and I think 10 h on the switch)
3. Coral island 127 hours (only early access, I'm too lazy to start over)
4. Sun haven 123 hours (my favorite one)
5. Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town 90 hours.
I don't really like combat, it's kind of frustrating to me. I do have a lot of hours on stardew but I don't really enjoy playing it, I did buy it three times idk why. I think I like the feeling of being rich

I absolutely ADORE Roots of Pacha and wish it got more hype!!! OMG Im shocked at how many hours of olive town you played!!! So sad I couldn't get into Olive Town or RF5 :/
There are just too many games releasing, it's hard to give them all the amount of hours they deserve. 😭 Lots of amazing games like Immortal Life as you said just slider under the radar. I made a ton of Olive Town guides & tips videos, so a lot of hours went into the game for those. And as I'm replaying it now, I'm liking it even more. It doesn't have the best characters, but the gameplay is addictive I find.
Interesting that SoS: Friends of Mineral Town didn’t make the list! Do you not like this remake as much as the others? I find it interesting you’ve played PoOT so much more than FoMT as most people like FoMT more
I loved the FoMT remake! I played it for about 40 hours, but I think it just released when I didn't have as much time to play.
Animal Crossing top with over 1000 hours (I was AFK for some of that leaving my island open so others could visit) I have every recipe crafted so consider it complete. Stardew Valley next with 155, and nowhere near completion.

My most played games are Rune Factory 5 English version with over 205 hours, then Rune Factory 4 Special English version with over 165 hours.

In 20 years I will still rambling about how it would be nice to have a Harvestella 2 but it will never happen since the game sold poorly.
Feel free to crucify me but I could never get into Stardew. I tried multiple times with lots of cool mods but it was just not for me.

from all of these games, i feel like the one that could be a very big hit would have been RF5... but honestly it felt like devs were at certain point and were just like eh, call it a day and wrap it.
the endgame is way too easy and many of the endgame content things are not even required, people just get them for the sake of achievement pride or something, at the hardest difficulty you can clear the game quite easy and fast without even using the top gear, the tower thing is nothing compared to rune prana from RF4 or the sharance maze, i pretty much cleared this game without upgrading gear.

Those are some rookie numbers on Sandrock, heh. Probably helps that I tend to pause to do what I want once I hit a main quest without a tike restriction.
Roots of Pacha, honestly I kind of bounced off of it. I plan on giving it another try at some point.
Coral Island, I bought when it released on my Xbox Series S because I don't have my pc set up, and it honestly just makes me incredibly angry.
It very clearly has the potential to be a good game, and it very clearly is still in beta despite being marketed as a full release.
As for Pioneers of Olive Town, while I did wind up putting quite a few hours in to it, when comparing it to my introduction to the series, Trio of Towns, I largely just find it disappointing.
The only reason I didn’t get kynseed is because of the turn based fighting 😫
I wasn't a huge fan of Pioneers of Olive town. It got grindy & I didn't like all the debris & puddles that needed to be cleared daily. The characters felt very flat to me also. I still had fun but other games are more enjoyable to me. At Christmas my daughter bought me a Switch lite just so I could play Animal Crossings & thats all I've been playing for 2 months. It's kind of funny because my son got me into PC games a few years ago by showing me Stardew Valley which I have played over 700 hours & even learned to mod. He played on Xbox so couldn't help with that!

If you watch more of the video, majority of the games are farming games. Josh just hasn't played a lot of Stardew since he's always loved the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons franchise which Stardew was inspired by
Exactly. I was thinking the same.
Not every farming game enjoyer is going to love stardew or have it as their favorite farming sim. So many have come before it and so many have come after, and for many (myself included) the game is overwhelming and the opposite of cozy. I’m glad so many people are enjoying it, but annoyed that there’s a belief now that all farming games = SDV.
