I would really like to see a sci fi war movie where the alien invaders have technologically superior weapons that don't rely on everything-proof shields or armor. Get some futurists and weapon designers together and sketch out some interesting hypothetical technologies and how they could be applied to superior combat vehicles that don't just stroll casually into visual range and "nope" all fire directed at them. And when that's done, let earth forces engage them at realistic weapon ranges. War of the worlds managed it a century ago.
At 2:22 when the bombers arrive and drop the bombs, it's the second time I see a B2 dropping bombs in the middle of town. The first time was in Cloverfield. It's really impressive to see that in anime.

To be capable of literally ignoring the kinetic energy of even the most powerful military weapons that are not nukes, it would take a little something called “plot”
