okay, this figure is a small, finite object, i'm looking at it, and there's NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. it's not "trash", which is more than i can say for your take on it.
That neck issue is a serious issue with the recent releases. I guess I just got so used to a neck hinge that I took it for granted. It really holds back the iron fist from the 85th anniversary 2 pack and it almost ruins the Astonishing Wolverine. That Wolverine can’t get into any crouching poses without staring straight at the ground. To me, this Venom is closer to the latter than the former and not being able to properly pose the fig in crouching poses really sucks. Other than that, this fig is just fine. Looks like I need to invest in a dremel😹
First and only ML Venom, I think it's pretty good overall, had to heat his right hand, the mold in the wrist was completely solid until then, now I can actually use it lol
I got the dude and I agree about the neck 100%. That said, I went after it with an X-acto knife and a dremel and, aside from the lack of a thigh cut, it is the perfect venom figure now imo. I still like the MAFEX better for a McFarlane style figure, but this one is perfect for the Bagley style lethal protector venom.
I can fix the neck but man, I can't stand this rubbery plastic they use on the legs. 3-pack Venom has that issue too. I can see it from people's review, they pose him and his legs buckle a bit. Omega Red's legs were solid.
When you tried to use the smaller older Venom's hands it was too thick to fit. That explains a lot about the broken or ripping of joints with the newer Legends. Thought it was just the plastic but is also the thickness.
The store exclusivity is my only gripe. This, to me, is still a fine Venom figure to be released at a lower price point. I'd have bigger gripes if these flaws were $100. Mildly amused you discovered head compatibility, one of few continuing merits for a diminishing toyline.
For me this is the best looking Comic Version Venom, but I really hate the articulation, the neck barely move, so I had to mod its neck just to be able to make it look up by 45 degrees, the maximum mod I can do, because I would damage the peg hole if I go further, another thing I hate about this figure was the leg articulation, it can't do a split so can barely do dynamic spiderman poses, so I might modify it too.
I’ve got enough Venoms in my collection I think I can skip this one? And a month later I’ll be paying scalpers prices saying I should have gotten him when I saw him. 🤦🏻♂️
The figure reuses a lot of parts from the Omega Red figure. In fact it reuses a lot of parts from the Venom figure that was part of that Amazon three pack with two other symbiotes.
And the funny thing is that the venom from the 3 pack which is pretty much the EXACT same figure as this one had better articulation for the head (although the new torso articulation is better)
The long tongue is garbage, i like the mcfarlane classic venom head. I think this figure is just a reissue of the exclusive retro cell shaded venom. I have the marvel select mcfarlane venom and the marvel legends monster venom. ill try and switch the heads
Had a few figures such as the retro Carnage and tobey spiderman from NWH the feet swivles are stuck and not moving, I saw that its a big problem with recent figures so you cant really pose them other than straight up and down since the feet cant stay flat on the floor.
I got mine from Wal-mart, where this was listed for roughly 57 dollars. I had 2 gift cards, so I paid 5 bucks instead. Venom is one of my favorite characters, so with that said, I absolutely love this figure, but your crituques are quite understandable. I don't like the neck articulation; I did the mod, so its better by 45 degrees, but I still want more out of it, and I wish this figure had toe articulation. I don't mind the rubbery plastic, since in my experience with Marvel Legends, they are at least a little rubbery, though I'm new to the line.
I’m confused as to why they chose the Donny Cates figure head as the extra. It’s a retro figure, why not include that half-revealed Eddie head? Instead we have Mcfarlane’s Orca design head, no Bagley head (the one in the art on the box), and no Eddie head, but we do get a head from a comic in 2018. What? Nothing except the head is new AND IT DOESN’T HAVE THE NECK JOINT. It gets by on being a Venom figure. If this was a less popular character people would be more critical. I think most people are just pleased to get a comic venom that isn’t in a hostage pack lol.
Hasbro cutting corners for money???!! You LIAR! 🤣😅I have one of these on order, I guess it will end up being a wall hanger, if he can't pose for shit and not part of the dio. Thanks for the heads up.
I’ve been waiting for a venom to release. I held on the 2 pack cause I really didn’t want knull too much. Now the price for that is too high for me. The three pack venom I just straight up didn’t want. I did get this one for scalper price but I’m honestly so damn happy with it. The neck sucks but i heated a tool and made a dip for the head.
Most of the time i disagree with you, especially on the s.h figuarts videos because you're literally the only toy collector i see that complaints on every figure from that line (and makes me wonder that the videos are staged to spread hate on Bandai), but this time i agree with you. I literally started to hate this venom when it was announced, so I really hope kaiyodo will work on a venom 2.0
Finally somebody is speaking up their not kissing Hasbro ass finally 👏 AMEN I really despise SCALPERS an they're buying up everything an using Bots too help them screw everyone out of pre-orders then double and triple the prices SCALPERS are ruining toy collecting for the regular collectors
I’m not going to lie- I don’t like this figure simply due to the sculpt and how outdated it feels… especially the shoulders and ugly butterfly joint it has… I like the 2 pack because the sculpt on it looks good and flows nicely (I know this is a more comic/cartoon look and it’s adapting that look)
@@ROCCOTHEGREAT for me I feel like the neck is only a little fix it’s good that hasbro gave us a single release because fans were mad that the only good hasbro venom was hidden behind a three pack
Hi Rocco, it’s definitely been a while. How are you doing? From the design of the card back it’s from Spider-Man: The Animated Series if I’m not mistaken right?
What a lazy release from Hasbro. Venom is one of their most popular characters and they couldn't even be bothered to upgrade the mold to use pinless joints
This kid is so annoying to listen too lmaooooo 😂 he has valid points but he sounds so whinny. But that neck joint is a way better joint, they just need to learn how to do them. Maybe one day but its hasbro so dont hold your breath...

@@dbzmagus Affordable statues don’t exist for american franchises, only japanese. The point of buying figures for adult collectors is to have a figure for display, not a toy for play. I dont understand why Hasbro can't just copy what import or jada toys does but Hasbro is gonna Habro and implement articulation poorly
because they dont have to, they know everyone will still buy it!
Just mod the neck what's the problem dremel, crafting knife you can't lose, best venom figure imo
